Agreed on all accounts with Ingrid. It was a wonderful ending and really puts the (relatively minor) role of PCs in context with the larger story. Poor Ingrid, Eris, and Brogol and their unrealized villianity.

Happy to be pinged if another game opens up as well.

I just concluded a Dead Suns campaign on the boards here. The GM did a lot of streamlining from what I gather to make the AP conclude in about 5k posts. I thought it was a pretty solid AP, and did a good job of introducing the setting through a kind of "globetrotting" adventure.

Everyone's death was great, though like Eris I was holding out hope we'd be able to continue with an alternate GM.

Eris and Ingrid, I could tell you both really enjoyed your PCs and it showed in your postings. That was a great final post for our PCs, Eris. It did wrap things up very nicely.

I'd like to second Eris's thoughts that you're an amazing GM, Cellion. Please keep us in mind. It has been fun, y'all!

Brogol's face scrunches together, pinched tight, like no doubt the a@#&*#~$ of the damnable angel knight. Pain? Disbelief? There would be no clarification, no knighthood, no penny dreadfuls written about the driver. Just this look, then a glassy stare, as Brogol Stokl slumps to the ground, all his ambition seeping out the hole in his chest.

Yep, Brogol was down a couple of HPs to start the fight, so he's down. His dreams of knighthood will have to wait for another game. <sadface>

GM, I know you've mentioned in the past that this AP has problems, but regarding this adventure, I thought it was pretty well crafted. The sandboxy second act was great. I'm not a huge fan of dungeons, but as they go the tree fort was unusual and well-designed.

I've enjoyed gaming with y'all. Thanks for having my ambitious, if unlearned, rogue along for the ride!

Next round, Brogol can try to disarm the Angel Knight. Then, Eris could grab her blade. For now, he's going to try and trip her. If successful AND Caggan falls under murderous command maybe the GM will count the AoO as a flank attack, since Caggan is momentarily under the effect of an enchantment. Do you have a means to get Ingrid on her feet, Eris?

Brogol skirts the side of the room, circling around the Angel Knight, and flicks his scarf out, winding it around her legs. Grunting as he tugs, Brogol waits to see if the woman falls.

FOOK YES! Brogol thinks, smiling as the Hound falls to the floor. The driver's delight is short-lived, however, as the real battle commences. The pain is searing, the panic unsettling as Brogol watches his blood spill onto the floor. One hand gripping his gut, Brogol moves backwards towards Eris. "Help!"

Withdraw 30' back to whence Brogol came.

Sorry all - this past week was a lot more busy and difficult than I'd imagined it would be. I'm back, and apologize for the hold-up. As for Brogol's action, my understanding is that you can charge in a surprise round if you have a weapon in hand, and Brogol is 30' from the Hound, so Brogol will do that. Please retcon if I'm wrong.

Brogol snarls, rather lupine himself in appearance, and sprints forward towards the Hound, swinging his scarf above his head as he runs. Perhaps, if he was quick enough, he could finish off this enemy before it knew what hit it. The scarf snakes through the air, blades glinting in the room's dim light, and Brogol howls, an outsized off-putting undulation somewhere between the cries of a wolf and a beagle.

Brogol rummages through the papers, rolling and stuffing anything relevant into his boot. The Archbaron would be pleased, and Brogol could practically taste that knighthood. So close. "Let's clear the rest of this place out and let Fex know. Also," Brogol stabs a gloved finger down onto one of the papers, a map. The driver had taken a beating these last few days, being burned, knocked unconscious, bludgeoned, stabbed, and generally beaten. Brogol's mouth drops open as the hound somehow twists free and throws itself from the balcony. No thought crosses through Brogol's mind, instead just a pure impulse, driven by rage at the idea of the hound getting away. Instead, the driver mutters "Patch me up" and leaps from the tree fort, aiming to land on their enemy's head...

What is the damage I roll if he jumps onto the hound? 3d6? Or something less?

1. Acrobatics check to lessen damage.
2. Brogol's damage to himself
3. Touch attack (1d20+dex+BAB since Brogol is a ranged weapon).
4. Damage to the hound

Panic rises in Brogol as pain and blood spill from his wound. A gurgling "Hnng" escapes his throat as the driver twists away from the Hound, ceding his space to Ingrid.

Withdraw.

Brogol smiles, a flat, mirthless smirk, and looks across the rope bridge. Still, he hesitates, for the bridge seems like a bad place to get caught. Looking at the dog, the driver squints, hoping to better make out if trickery is afoot.

"OK. Yer heard the woman. If we're to go no further, yer can come here then."

"The meeting hall," Brogol says, looking to the east. "Yes. Eris, get yerself in fighting shape with that fancy wand of yours. You too, Ingrid, and we'll move on."

"Well, well, well, nicely done my friends," Brogol says, picking his scarf back up and wrapping it around his neck, before crouching by the woman. "Information for your life. It is that simple. How many more in this fort? Where's Lencia."

I'm back and catching up on life/work. Sorry for the radio silence - turned out I didn't have internet after all, which was pretty lovely actually. I hope to get caught up today/tomorrow.

I'm going out of town tomorrow for the next week and posting will likely be intermittent. Please bot as necessary.

Picking up his crossbow, Brogol steps out of the hut only to find the pale woman has joined them, and seems to be... frozen? Eris's madness no doubt. Scurrying past the woman, Brogol unwinds his scarf again as he goes, and then leans in, whispering next to her ear. "Yer in a bit of trouble, yeah? Surrender, let's talk. If not..."

Move: Pick up xbow. Standard: Move 30, draw bladed scarf (so B has the scarf in one hand and xbow in the other atm).

Ducking back into the hut, Brogol stows his scarf and reaches for his crossbow...

"Good 'un, Ingrid. Get her, Eris!"

Move: 30' back to where Brogol dropped his crossbow, Standard: Stow scarf.

Reassessing the situation as teh spellcaster doesn't drop, Brogol instead drops his crossbow and sprints towards the spellcaster, unwinding his scarf as he runs. The driver scoots around Ingrid - careful, those flailing claws are sharp - and unleashes his scarf at the caster, testing the man's defenses.

Confident that the spellcaster would fall before Ingrid's fury, Brogol wrapped his scarf around his neck and once drew his crossbow, staying behind the cover of the door. The archer across the way would need to be dealt with, and soon.

Move: stow scarf, move: draw crossbow.

The creature moves too quickly than for Brogol's anticipation - he simply watches as the pinecone blunders into Ingrid's claws and jaws of death. Just reflavoring the 1 as inaction, since I've already bumbled around with a 1 this fight.

Focusing on the doorway instead, Brogol flings his scarf at the first creature through it that isn't a Chelaxian madwoman, grunting as he puts as much muscle as he can behind his strike.

Brogol slips to the other side of the door, readjusting his hat as he goes. "Those pinecones are probably coming in. Let's run em through a guantlet if they do."

Brogol will take one side of the door, hoping that Ingrid can take the other on her turn.

Gripping his bladed scarf, the driver looks for the leshies and waits to strike as soon as they - or a woodsman - puts themselves in a position to get hurt.

Brogol slides into the room, whipping his scarf above his head as he goes. "Sorry, bubber. Yer gotto go." The gods have other things in mind, however. The heels of Brogol's boots click across the floor and the man skids upon something - water? a sock? - and Brogol twists, snagging his bladed scarf upon his own armor...
