I'm just letting the other players know here that I'll be stepping back from this game. I've just lost a lot of the will to play due to some nastiness I've experienced recently. It's really just made me not want to roleplay period and it's been really hard to keep in the mindset of Britta. I hope you all keep going with the story. Sorry.

Upon feeling revitalized, Britta considers her reward further.

"So...I know we had all planned to go, and you all totally should still, but I might not. I saw an opportunity with you all...and that hasn't likely changed, at least for the future, but I think I've had a change of heart concerning this mission. I think I'm going to stick around here for a bit. This is a hefty sum. Don't hate me for it."

She winces, hoping they understand and will give a tip to Mitchifer for the drink.

"If you see me in a booth, feel free to say high, or if you have another job at a later time, I might be interested, if you can stomach me going with you all. I'll stick around with you all for the training, but after that, I might zip off and spend some of this gold."

"500 per defeated foe? Hmm..." Britta coughs unexpectedly and suddenly looks to her other companions in deep thought. "Thanks..." she half winks to Davin before moving over toward the bar. She was going to use Windchime to get her an order of that drink, but now, the bar sounds more appealing.

"Mitchifer, hey, hi. We were told after the bout to order a...'slap yo momma' drink? Can you get me one of those? This isn't some lame prank, is it?" She looks at him with some dullness for the thrill. "Also, spoils for the match, if you would."

With her money and drink in hand, she will look at the others.

"So...let's get started with that training shall we?"

She will half sit on a stool and will hold onto the bar as she takes a solid sip from her drink, half expecting something bad to happen to her.

"A slap yo mama...," she mutters in response. "Okay." She answers with a rising inflection and a slight chuckle to match Davin's own. She looks to her teams injuries. Are they still there or was this as temporary as they made it seem?

"If you wish to give us insight into teamwork aid, I can work with you to figure out what you know that might aid us based on what we've seen in battle. Also, maybe experiencing your combat prowess might lead us to know what offensive powers we can learn. It may take the afternoon to sort out, but thanks for the reward. Is there also money involved in the victory?"

She asks, considering that her existence there is tied to how many funds she has left. Otherwise, she will either have to pick a random universe to live in or return to her own.

"Back to the fog if you can. I'm not sure what its plans are. Maybe it's done. I think I stabbed him in his reproductive organs. But if not, then let's get to cover."

She will move back to the fog with her jetpack. As she goes, she looks over to Josten, and just the mere look seems to heal him.

I am letting people know that as of today, I'm going to be on vacation and where I'm going, my internet may be spotty. I don't mind posting from my phone though when available. Britta is most certainly not going near the creature now that there are tentacles surrounding it and seemingly trying to grapple it. Its proclivity to being able to slip them also is impressive and communicates that her own wily methods of fighting may not be effective.

Also, the fact it is scorpion-like, likely means it has a resistance of some degree to poison, so she is left with few options. The hardened skin also might not be beneficial for the cutting power of her small blades. She determines the best thing to do is to watch its resistance and wait invisibly from cover as she moves steadily forward over the ice.

Britta moves forward toward their enemy and hovers as she does. The subtle updraft is just enough to propel her a few feet upward, but not enough to cause jetwash in the snow. Thus, she is able to keep hidden as she maneuvers forward, first to the right, then to the left as she approaches. If this thing has some special sense, she should be able to witness it tracking her. Otherwise, she will prepare herself to launch into attacks.

Surprise Round Move action: Hover 15ft closer sneaking. She magically leaves no trail, as well as her jetpack is too low of a setting to create a cloud indicating her location.

"Ugh...I just wanted a simple fight. My team versus your team. Bam, done. Now we are having a whole arena bout and wasting our resources. We'll have to go on the mission tomorrow. This better be worth our effort because this is not what we signed up for..." she rants a bit as the fights continue on.

When they get to the scorpion, she'll signal and bring the team to up to prepare behind cover. She will also explain how far away it is. If no one has an answer for transportation to it instantly, she'll have to make her way out there.

Britta seems to focus the Force around her. It can be heard and felt, and then she just seems to disappear! (Casting Invisibility)

She will use the Force to find and bring other Light and/or Darkside users with an agenda against this type of beast to aid her in combat, bending their will to her own. (Casting Blade Tutor's Spirit)

Britta will come around the corner. While she is invisible, she is no less deadly. However, the beast is quite far away and she begins her approach as she hovers over the snow silently.

A louder scoff elicits from Britta and she can't help but smile at Josten's words. Seeing Silvertail is alright, she rolls her eyes to Josten and turns around. Her shapely form dangles mid-air before tensing and leaning into the flying form she uses when jetpacking. One can guess it is somewhat comfortable to hover, but then she is all about business.

She nods to the Fox's reasoning and continues on then.She will move forward, quietly looking ahead; using the rocks and natural-looking ice walls to conceal her as she peers into the distance.

Moving after the swarm of fangs has had a couple of rounds of movement, then following after them down the way to the edge of the icewall, then sneakily peering around it.

"Zeran, move these fangs away from us," she instructs before they decide to envelop Josten or her.

Josten's attacks on the giant were impressive. How he scaled the wall, she didn't know. Perhaps he could fly? All she knows is he made it there and rode that giant to the ground. A slight chuckle and smirk come from her, only visible through the fog by him because of her Force powers eveloping the group. He can tell she is impressed, but trying to hide it. The Force brings her kunai back to her belt and she turns off the glowing, hateful red of the blade off. A moment later, she will look to check on the others.

"I almost thought you were cut in half with that blow. Nor did I see you up on top of that wall. I believe my powers slowed your descent though, right?" she asks, knowing the answer already.

At Silvertail's inference that there is someone else to fight, she looks around them.

"You don't think that was it?" She listens for what the announcer has to say and watches to see what will happen with these bodies of the fallen giants.

Seeing the might that these giants are swinging with, she seeks to end this as soon as possible. Her kunai are pulled instantly, she shifts to the right, moving from where she once was, and then strikes out at the giants.

Britta first empowers her teammates to see through the fog. With an intense focus, she stretches out her force willpower to the connection between the fog created by the fire meeting the ice wall, and the strength in each ally's eyes. By bending the force, she makes the fog capable to be pierced by their sight alone. (Fog Dweller: Swift Action. 2 Jutsu used. 6 left)

Next, the acrobatic force-user surrounds herself with the force, speeding her actions. Coupled with the haste from Zeran, she should be significantly deadly to take down these beings.

There is an almost imperceptible flurry that seems to come from within the fog. It is only because her allies can now see that they manage to catch a glimpse. It seems that for every melee strike she makes, her other hand spins around and hurls a kunai at the opposite giant. Then she will spin and strike the opposite and throw at the other giant. This happens in quick succession and each throw seems deadly in the effort.

ROUND 2
Perception: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (12) + 16 = 28 To see Silvertail
Britta will hold out her hands at seeing the wall form between her friends and her. She will begin to channel the force within her. The wall tears at itself, crashing into falling ice as it is damaged by her forceful pulling ability. Then, through manipulation of the force the breaking ice floats there and begins to glow with the look of something burning instead. A moment later, each falling piece explodes. Gouts of flame spread out before her from a singular point on the wall. Before it can be heard, the giants would feel that something is about to happen from behind them, almost equivalent if you were to hear someone chanting behind you, how you would turn to see someone and hear what they are saying, however, in this instance, they see and hear nothing, but certainly know danger is coming and are able to react. There are alchemical materials within her hands that she has imbued with the force, seemingly increasing the efficiency of this effect.

Move Action: Draw Alchemical Fire Flask
Standard Action: Fireball Damage Reflex Half DC19 for Giants (the wall gets none): 8d6 + 2 ⇒ (6, 1, 4, 1, 3, 2, 5, 4) + 2 = 28 *Britta is targeting the 40ft diameter of the wall. +2 damage from Black Powder/Saltpeter. Alchemist Fire is consumed as a material component. The wall, and if either giant fails their Fireball saving throw, they are considered to be "caught on fire". Allies (which would technically be me) in the area are allowed to ignore all of these effects and instead heal 3d6 if hit with it. Since she is full, she won't gain healing but will gain temporary HP from Spell Rush.

Spell Rush:
Whenever you cast a sorcerer spell, you may gain temporary hit points equal to the level of the spell + your Charisma modifier. These hit points last until the sorcerer rests and regains spell slots, and do not stack with temporary hit points from other sources and cannot be transferred to another creature.

The sound is tremendously powerful. Such a use of force immediately makes Britta visible. However, if the wall is destroyed, the party will see Britta on the other side for a brief moment before the area is filled with a dense fog (from the destruction of the wall with fire). However, if the wall is not destroyed, regardless, the giants will now know exactly where Britta is, and this pesky, floating soldier is likely to get stomped. Knowing this, Britta quickly refocuses her mind, waves a hand, and vanishes from sight once more.
Swift action: Vanishing Trick. -1 Jutsu to use. I gain +2 Jutsu for striking two enemies without them knowing exactly where she is.
Note: Also, if the wall is destroyed, and Silvertail falls (I'm not sure because she's always floating), I'll use Fount of Magic to immediately cast feather fall. If she doesn't fall or the wall isn't destroyed, then ignore.

Britta blinks as around the corner she sees two frost giants. What did they do to capture those? She had heard of them existing in the cold regions on the moons of Endor and elsewhere. This was not going to be an easy fight, particularly since their eyes narrow on her.

"Ah crap. They saw me. Two frost giants are incoming. Lay down some suppressive fire! We are in it folks," she requests as she reaches for her belt. From there, she grasps her kunai and flings it toward the face of the giant. A second later, she goes invisible. With little effort, she zips around the corner and approaches the giants.

Arena:
The group may cast their spells. She shrugs to Zeran, not knowing what he's talking about. "Haste" just means the word speed to her, so she assumes it's good. When the effect is upon her, she understands and nods, however, she casts no spell herself. She hears Josten's song and is strangely in more of a battle-like mind. It reminds her of working out with music playing.

"I like that...keep doing that when we are in a fight," she grins deviously, letting him know it works well for her.

Suddenly Britta appears where she has not been. This method of travel for her is extremely odd. Unprovoked. Unexpected. As a result, she flips out, pulling her kunai, strikes at the air behind her, and spins around quickly. Almost as instantly, the group will find that she is hovering about 3feet off the ground. The two vents at the back of her "armor" exude a nearly silent, dim, blue glow that, for those of science, will know are producing thrust and stabilizing her. She doesn't seem awkward in the least hanging there in the air. Instead, she seems to have perfect maneuverability. At least she is fast as on her feet as off it.

It is then that the cold hits her.

"Oh! Whoh!" she exclaims, closing her mouth as the blast consumes her.

Fortitude: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23

Thankfully her suit kicks on and begins to regulate her temperature.

"That is cold! What...what? How are we here? Is this the magics that you do?" she asks. "We just...instantly moved. Like with the doors. Is this the arena?"

She then gets the answer when the announcer begins speaking. This is familiar to her now. She then sort of relaxes and lowers her weapon, for the moment, burnt bright with a red, but powerful glow emulating pain and destruction if it were to hit you. Now it shuts off.

"Alright...let's head out. Is everyone okay?" she asks, looking them over before she heads down the path ahead of them.

Once the group is okay, she takes to the icy outcroppings and makes herself less noticed. She moves, still hovering forward to spy around the corner while the rest of the group situates themselves.

For the arena spectators, they will now see Britta. The majority of those in the inn are in the blue mist, and so many probably have not met her. Perhaps they've seen her around from time to time in the inn over the last couple of weeks. She is a poisoner, but isn't evidently allowed to be so in this type of battle. Often she has offered people alchemical goods or poisons for sale. To those that haven't seen her yet, they will find the brown-haired beauty as nimble, lightning-fast, and yet stealthy at the same time.

Dealing with anyone else is preferred by Britta at this point and she gestures to the arena.

"Can you get us in there? I'm ready to get going."

It is clear she wants to get this over with so they can go explore this new world. The arena typically is a place for slaves to fight and/or die, in her mind. She finds no appeal to it at all except for entertainment. So she'd rather be entertaining herself in a gambling den or a cantina like this one enjoying herself after so many years of service. The prospect of money is too great though, and a thousand coins can set her up for a long time in here. If she has to fight in an arena to see whether these are just boastful fighters or if they can actually hold their own, she'll endure.

When they finally do get into the arena, she readies herself. There is no advantage given to herself that would skew the fight to their advantage, even if she is able.

As the fight begins to commence, tattoos upon her arm begin to glow. Just before the other combatants act, it seems to take shape in a burst of speed from the blade-wielding woman.

There is a subtle smirk to Windchime before she snaps a look at Zeran.

"If you are coming with us...to where we are going...and we are testing our mettle now as suggested, you are coming into the ring with us. Not observing. This is to show our capabilities to handle combat to some degree. I hope you are ready."

"My goodness, if this one here doesn't stop posturing, I may just stab her already and show her I don't need backup. Just get us into a match already! Damn! Calm down, Britt. Who knows what twisted horrors may involve you lashing out here outside the arena."

She had already stated the names of those entering so they are now waiting on Linxx.

"I'm not interested in your ranking system. Pit someone or a group of someones against our group as a whole or we'll be on our way," she states bluntly again. She can't be more clear that she isn't going in the pit any other way. She is getting irritated that she keeps offering for the group to go in and this lizard keeps singling her and Josten out.

"Just a joke, Windchime." Britta chuckles and waves dismissively to the droid, showing it was all in good fun. She then looks back intently to the dragonborn.

"Not a comparison," she answers bluntly without emotion at the potential taunt/threat. "If I were making one, it'd be an insult, as I'm sure they are quite small. Not much bigger than your hip plate. Seeing as I'm not making a comparison, I'll say that I just noticed the similarity in the name and thought I had heard it before. I suppose I also wondered at the origin of your name, if it means something in your language?"

Britta is pretty unreadable when Linxx looks closer. By all appearances, the girl isn't much. Dependent on Linxx's culture or experience, she may think Britta's armor is weak. Her appearance is nothing assuming. Surely she won't able to handle anything...but her confidence is strangely unshaken by the scary lizard, which may set off warning signals to counter these thoughts in such a beast.

"Show sport..." Then looking to the others, she shrugs, "Well...I'll fight, but I'm not going to be at my peak then."

If she can't use poisons she'll just have to be trickier. She looks to Josten.

"I think Josten here, Zeran, Silvertail, me...who you can call Britta Karan, and maybe Kagiero here would be interested..." She looks to Kagiero for confirmation, as well as the others, then adds, "...and why not Windchime as well." She sports a laugh, looking to the bot, not sure if the waitress would be interested, but because she is there, she could join if she wants.

Britta humms at Josten's overinflated ideal that the band was the best on their planet, as that wasn't saying much. She thought it was okay compared to what she's heard but doesn't seek to demolish his bubble...this time.

"Ahh! That is much more palatable to me. However, if we are going to do that, I suggest we set out tomorrow when we are fresh. I don't feel like fighting, potentially getting beaten to a pulp, and then having to set out the same day."

She looks to the others and then to the Duinuogwuin (dragon of some kind) who called herself Linxx. While the Dragonborn seemed to joke about them losing their virginity in the ring, she didn't seem affectionate to the claim. Such brutish talk disgusts her.

"Alright Linxx...isn't that a type of feline name? A species somewhere? Hmm...anyway...we are considering this offer to fight--as a group. I do have a question, does the arena have a way to stave off death? I typically fight with poisons and the like. Are they allowed? I imagine if there isn't some kind of magical protection, it may be hard to stop them from working..."

"No," she briefly answers Zeran after learning the rat's names and bidding them farewell. "Not these particular types. I have experienced those with hive minds, or shared minds before. I had no idea going up to them though, but when they spoke in unison, I assumed..."

She shrugs and looks about the inn as Zeran states he wishes he can come back.

"I think some doors do work and some don't after you go through them. There is a chance we will not be able to, but I'm sure we can find a way back somehow. Just be ready for anything going through a door. I don't know what is on the other side."

Once they get back to the bar, she looks at Josten. Having heard his song while playing, she has to comment.

"That was a weird song you played. Weird in maybe an okay way..." There is a smirk on her face. She's used to different styles, but it was enjoyable to some degree. "What is that you used to play it?"

When they consider the arena, she shrugs.

"I'm not interested in showing off, and much of my fighting style involves poisoning you or any number of dastardly moves to incapacitate you. I doubt you will very much want to experience it. That said, if the unit here is in agreement, I'll do it..."

"We are tasked to find a witch who goes by the name of Euryris. Have you heard of her, met her, or know where she'd be? We also could use what door she uses..." Britta asks, looking still at all five of the rats in their own turn despite the main one only talking. It is rude to ignore a hivemind just because one is speaking, a mistake perhaps some inexperienced people would make. "I came to you first as your brains are so large and pronounced. Clearly, a species as yours is immensely intelligent and a good source for information, even if you all may not know this particular person." She takes a chance that complimenting their most pronounced feature is good manners.

While talking to her, the rats may feel intently at ease around her. Many other beings often have deceitful thoughts subconsciously. It can't be helped by people sometimes, even if they choose to not lie. The rats don't feel that with her. However, even if they do try to actively detect what she is thinking, it will lead them in ways that will speak to the truth of her every word. Even whatever methods they use to tell her alignment it would be impossible to tell whether she was a liar. So powerful is the innocence of her eyes, that she just doesn't seem like the type to give false information.

To pretty much anyone else from Zeran's world, or any other normal galaxy, this would be quite abnormal. She's dealt with hive-minded creatures before in the Taurill and the T'zaki. This behavior doesn't unnerve her in the least.

"If they've been expecting us, perhaps they can read minds? Perhaps they can share minds?"
"Yes, I've been meaning to come over for some time. Can you help us?"

As Zeran grabs his staff and asks her if she will accompany him, she nods.

"Of course. I could use a useless person on my hip," she smirks, showing some light banter in the form of a joke, since he himself stated he wouldn't be much use.

"Thank you," she voices to Thalyssra. She does find it strange. Perhaps when they've needed a job done in her world, someone from another world has shown up? Would she have known otherwise? The Empire used mercenaries for various dark dealings. The First Order was little different. What if one of them was an interplanar traveler?

As Thalyssra heads to join her sisters, she looks over to Josten as he bows. The Godling bothers her, and she isn't sure why. Her eyes travel to Aleksandros, who has ventured bravely over to speak with the slaver.

"Okay...what to do? I suppose I'll go to the rat."

She looks for the rat she saw earlier with its brain out. Perhaps she will be able to speak to it?

Looking to the witches who verbally rebuked Zeran she asks, "You all took clear defense of witches earlier. Might you have met or know how we can find someone named Euryis from the Forgotten Realms? She has been in here before, as she gave Mitchifer her job and we are picking it up."

Although Britta can't hear hardly any of the detail of Mitchifer's words to Josten, she nods to the fox, for Britta can read lips from afar. "Yes. We are going to a place called Farun?" she explains wrongly, not quite able to pick up what Mitchifer said. "Forgotten Realms. A thousand gold pieces up front each. One-thousand more after. We keep anything we find. We are heading into some ruins it seems. You can ask him what the name of them is. I couldn't discern it. Brad Magio, or something like that..." She then explains further. "We are helping a witch destroy an evil artifact."

"FFUUU--!" she mouths with a quiet yelp as Silvertail is just suddenly there on a chair. Britta's hand instinctually is already on her blade, but upon hearing and seeing the fox, she relaxes. It is clear from her red cheeks and shock that the fox gave her a jump scare. How she handled it is impressive. Quickly, she recovers and states, "Well...we'll have you move out first then," she jokes with a smirk.

Relaxing once more, she looks to Zeran as he explains his shorthand.

"Code?" she thinks to herself.

As he reads, she will reach out an alluring finger and pull the book down so she can view this "shorthand" too, only to find herself at a loss. It's more like the schematics to some kind of interdimensional algorithm using the lost language of the Jedi. It doesn't even look like it would begin to make sense to her. However, as she watches it, through the force, Zeran will detect through his detect magic spell that she is connecting to the words themselves and her eyes dart to and fro, as if she is able to start understanding it. He would recognize an effect not unsimilar to the read magic spell, but there was more a connection to the writing itself than an understanding.

"Hmm...," is all she coughs up after seemingly reading his book to some degree.

When he explains the troubles ahead of them, she wonders how capable she will be to handle this herself.

"I'm sure each of us will bring our own experience to the table in helping us deal with this. If we can't, and don't die, then we'll just do something else."

Seeking to create a tension-breaker, she grins and comments to Zeran, "I want to mess with artifacts. Does that mean you don't trust me??" She wants to leave him no ground to go to, but it is clear from her face that she is toying with him.

"Thank you Windchime." She nods with a slight smile. Then, looking to Zeran, him almost choking kind of gives her a twisted pleasure, though it wasn't intentional. It seems strange though that he intends to make his cloak intelligent. Why would someone want an AI in a cloak? "It means artificial intelligence. Meaning it was crafted, develops, and learns, much like how you are explaining how this artifact can become evil after made."

Hopefully, with Morriana calling out across the room, they aren't bothering anyone else. She doesn't really care, but from the looks of the slaver efreet, they may be making an enemy by being too loud. "Then again, this place is weird. I am sure it's expansive, but I can't hear a lot of discussions like I would in a cantina. This place needs a J@@z band though."

Hearing Zeran repeat the same thing didn't make sense to her. It is only until Elistra begins to explain it that she finally understands.

"Oohhh...so like how an AI can become corrupt, this...'wizard energy magic' can corrupt something? And you are saying that can often take on a negative effect in how it is represented. Evil. Got it." She gives a kind wink to Elistra. "Now it makes sense how the demon, also being evil will be empowered by it. Artifacts, where I come from, are usually rocks, or some relic from a time past, or some ancient technology. They are what I would consider neutral and definitely don't have any form of sentience; at least not that I've ever heard of. Sorry for the misunderstanding. That was frustrating!" She then looks to Zeran and asks, "I didn't catch anything by putting on that garment did I?"

Looking over to Kagiero as she transforms, she simply comments, "There are Amarans in my galaxy that look like you, but they don't change I don't think."

She looks up to Josten as he talks to Kagiero and then looks at the book briefly.

"Are you going to go ask Mitchifer? If it's a job for about a hundred coins, you can count me out."

Britta shakes her head in wonder and disbelief as people act like an artifact can be evil and strengthen what is probably a Devaronian.

In a bored voice, dulled by their fear of what in her mind is nothing, she answers the question:

"I am a recon soldier, but more than that. I can fight, disable foes pretty well, and can produce powerful effects with the powers I have within myself. I know just where to strike as well. If you were to ask me my favorite style, it would be to fight in smoke or fog as it debilitates others, but not me. I can sense them still. On top of that, a touch of poison to most of my blades is a nice addition."

Being shut down, she gains the cutest subtle pout and just focuses on her ale until they've decided. "I wonder if I should just go get the artifact my dang self." She won't be giving any more input. "What if it is worth something and someone else takes the job? What if it is a powerful ancient technology? What if it is a hunk of junk that this lady just can't reach because she sucks?" In her mind, it is easy money and now she's slightly grumpy.
