Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

Shoot I thought I posted in this a few weeks ago. I'm going to need to drop out of this campaign, unfortunately. I've had to cut down the time I spend on PbPs since I can't access the boards from my office at work anymore. Assume Breccia hangs with the party until the current situation with Lankesh is resolved, then he will amicably part ways and return to his pilgrimage to temples of Irori.

I wish I'd checked for certain to see if that post went through, I'm sorry guys. I had a great time while it lasted, though :)

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

Breccia continues to relentlessly hammer away at the Rakshasa, knowing that it is not the mountain that will crumble first in a battle of attrition. Watching the fiend try and struggle free of the mighty tiger's claws, the oread winds back with one fist while helping pin the fiend down, then slams his punching dagger into its side, then again, and again. By now, the oread is smeared with the fiend's blood up his chest and arms.

____________

Full-Round Action: Full-Attack Lankesh: Power Attack; Flanking; Prayer

Punching Dagger: 1d20 + 13 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 13 + 2 + 1 = 26
>> Damage: 1d3 + 21 ⇒ (3) + 21 = 24

Punching Dagger: 1d20 + 8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 8 + 2 + 1 = 31
>> Damage: 1d3 + 18 ⇒ (3) + 18 = 21

Punching Dagger: 1d20 + 13 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 13 + 2 + 1 = 18
>> Damage: 1d3 + 21 ⇒ (3) + 21 = 24

Punching Dagger: 1d20 + 8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 8 + 2 + 1 = 13
>> Damage: 1d3 + 18 ⇒ (2) + 18 = 20

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

I'm kind of at a loss on how to hurt this thing. I guess since it's pinned we can try the whole pins and needles angle again.

Seeing the monstrous Rakshasa pinned by Tania's enormous tiger, Breccia unwinds from the beast and and leans over the creature. Winding back, he plunges his katar down into its chest with all the force he can muster. Then, reeling back, he repeats the motion, slamming down with the punching blades repeatedly in a merciless attempt to end its life with as much subtlety and finesse as a falling stone.

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

Breccia's response to the realization that the creature is some sort of supernatural threat is to throw himself at the creature that Ashaka has managed to climb atop in a whirling frenzy of claws and teeth. Instead of a death by a thousand papercuts, Breccia drops to one knee and dropping his adamantine blades quickly snatches one of the rakshasa's arms with both of his, twisting it into a vice-like grip and using his weight and size to aid the tiger in keeping the creature down.

The mighty oread's only vocalization is a rumbling roar of effort as he wrestles with the supernatural creature, his greaves scraping across the ground as the infernal beast wrestles with both he and his feline ally. There is desperation in the oread's expression, looking to Prashant with an urgent glare in the hopes that the priest knows of something useful.

_____________
Breccia is joining the grapple as a standard action, using a Combat Maneuver check to aid on Ashaka's grapple attempt (DC 10). For not dropping his weapons, Breccia suffers a -4 penalty on this check.

CMB to Grapple (Aid Another): 1d20 + 14 - 4 ⇒ (20) + 14 - 4 = 30 (success!; +2 bonus to Ashaka's grapple checks)

Note that Breccia's menacing stance is still active, therefore the rakshasa suffers a –1 penalty on attack rolls (which applies to his CMB check) and a –4 penalty on concentration checks.

In order to cast a spell (or more likely use a spell-like ability to escape) it has to make a Concentration check DC 10 + Ashaka's CMB + 2 + spell level) or lose the spell.

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

Don't forget the +1 dodge bonus to AC!

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

Letting out a rumbling growl of earthen tones as his sole response, Breccia presses forward with his attacks against their enemy, each swing of his armor-plated limbs brings those adamantine blades forward with tremendous strength and deadly precision. The oread is relentless, stepping in with each strike to ensure his distance remains as intimately direct as possible.

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

HP: 40/76

Move Action: Advancing to Lankesh and drawing punching daggers.
Standard Action: Attack Lankesh (prayer + power attack + dirty fighter thanks to Nesipho's flanking)
> Attack: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (18) + 18 = 36 (flanking)
>> Damage: 1d3 + 21 ⇒ (3) + 21 = 24

GM Note: Menacing Stance:
At 7th level, a brawler constantly harries and distracts his enemies. While adjacent to the brawler, enemies take a –1 penalty on attack rolls and a –4 penalty on concentration checks. Creatures do not take these penalties if the brawler is dazed, helpless, staggered, stunned, or unconscious.

_____________

Smoke issues off of Breccia's armor from blackened spots where he was struck by lightning. Letting out a rumbling groan, the Oread warrior reaches down to his waist and draws out his punching daggers as he begins to move with gradually building speed towards the assassin like a boulder tumbling downhill. Wordlessly, Breccia moves past his allies and to the doorway, winding up with his right hand as he approaches, lunging forward with his punching dagger towards the ruthless spellcaster in a sudden burst of speed and overwhelming strength.

______________
Edit: Just noticed Tania rolled Reflex and Initiative for me, so I'll take the result of her rolls.

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

Hi All!

Just to give you guys a heads-up, I'm super busy because of the holidays and haven't been on the Internet outside of my phone in a few days. I'll be delayed in updating things till this weekend, most likely, though if I manage to steal a little time here and there I will!

I hope you all had an excellent week! :D

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

Surprised that the man relented, Breccia squares his shoulders and takes one last look back at the street, giving his companions time to file in to the building. Once they have all started to head in, the pondrous oread takes up the rear, marching up the short steps into the front door with plodding weight to each footfall.

Here I was expecting a wall, but instead a door. Perhaps this will not be as impossible a task as I had first imagined.

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

Grumbling, Breccia rests his hands on his hips while Nesipho talks. He is growing impatient with the constant running around and lack of any solid leads, his desire to serve dutifully and timely the Thakur -- as requested -- is competing with his desire to dutifully serve his team, neither of which seem to be gaining any traction due to constant obstacles.

Breccia hopes, greatly, that this lead will not simply dry up as the others had.

___
Including a little internal composition in the event that the failed Will save was Breccia failing to resist a detect thoughts.

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

Will Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 (oh boy...)

Having been quiet in the long hike from the cistern, Breccia remains just a few feet behind Nesipho, mindful not to have his blades drawn in the street so as to avoid another frightful encounter with the locals. Standing head and shoulders above the Mwangi wizard, the tall oread looks up and down the street as the others approach the door. Brows furrowing, he contemplates the house's location and the actions of the organization they have been seeking.

It's too late by the time the door opens for him to consider circling around back of the building so as to better take advantage of their numbers. Instead, he looks to the man opening the door with one stony brow raised and head slowly quirking to the side...

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

Oh heck I must have clicked the x to stop tracking updates. I'll have s post when I get home from work.

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

Pragmatic as always, Breccia simply kneels down and picks up the severed head in one large hand. Though, as the oread frowns subtly, it's clear he would like to not parade the remains around town.

Nesipho's notion of a sack is a safer one.

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

Nesipho's jovial remark elicits a single raised brow fromwithin Breccia's helm. The oread drops down from the warehouse into the cesspit with a splash and slap of armored feet in the mud. Ducking low enough to maneuver beyond the opening, Breccia notices the tracks Nesipho had discovered, then the broken blade. Emotionless eyes of glossy black stare at the sword, then up and around at the structure of the cesspit. Silent in his inspection, Breccia soon takes a knee in the mud and examines the tracks not for intention, but origin.

__________
Knowledge (dungeoneering): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17 (anything pertinent to the clawed footprints?)
Knowledge (engineering): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26 (Does anything about the cesspit look suspect?)

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

"પાયો ભંગ અને મકાન આવેલું ,." Breccia states flatly, then with an incline of his head translates it as best as he can as, "Kill our spirits, and killing our flesh becomes simpler." The oread's brows furrow at that sentiment, and he looks back in the direction they ran from to give chase with momentary suspicion.

Then, turning back to the others he asks, "What is the next step?"

_____

Terran:

Break the foundation and the building falls.

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

When Breccia finally catches up to the others, the enormous oread comes to a plodding halt and exhales a ragged breath. Sheathing his katar, the stony warrior looks up into the sky with narrowed, hematite eyes, then back down to his companions.

"You are injured," is his greeting to Tania, brows furrowed and lips downturned to a frown. There is, however, little he can do for the injury.

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

Gradually, Breccia comes to a stop much in the way a rolling boulder would. Once he finally arrests his momentum, the oread looks up to the sky, then ahead to the others who passed him by. Frowning, the stone-armored warrior begins walking to join back up with his companions, disheartened that their attacker was able to escape.

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

Shoving anyone in his way out of his bull-like path, Breccia rushes across the street and is quickly losing ground on the others. Skidding to a halt he looks for a sign of where Tania and the assassin went, but with the cover of the buildings all he can hope to do is arrive in time to clean up whatever mess Tania starts. Breaking into a run again, Breccia's heavy footfalls slam across the ground.

____
Still moving as fast as he can depending on terrain/cwods/etc.

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

Yes, Breccia is moving (slowly :|)until he catches up to Tania at the very least.

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

Exhaling a breathy snarl, Breccia offers a look to Nesipho that is both demanding and apologetic, as if he somehow realized the tone of his prior request, much belatedly. Seeing the magi take off running, Breccia begins plodding after them, moving like a stone rolling downhill and very quickly being outpaced.

___
Give chase, following Nesipho.

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

Unable to call out a warning in time, Breccia's hematite eyes go wide when he sees the arrow strike Tania. Swiftly, he draws the vicious adamantine katar from where they are sheathed at his hips and widens his stance. "Stand behind m--" is all Breccia is able to rumble before Tania disappears in a flash, reappearing on the distant rooftop with her tiger. The oread gapes for a moment, then points to the roof while turning to Nesipho.

"Mage," Breccia states flatly, "Bring me thirty feet beyond Tania at ground level." Suddenly the oread speaks, and most of it is harshly barked orders for things he isn't even sure Nesipho can accomplish.

_____
Move Action: Draw katars
Standard; Ready Action: Charge attack at nearest opponent. If Nesipho can also dimension door Breccia's hoping to wind up behind the building to bum-rush the assassin.

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

Breccia has only 59 gold to add to the cause, unfortunately. However, since we're doing this at the request of an extremely wealthy and influential noble, perhaps we could cut some sort of deal or bargain?

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

I think we should look into purchasing a scroll of scrying and use the earring to enhance the check. Breccia isn't capable of offering that advice, however.

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

Nice roll, Tania!

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

As they enter the store, Breccia enters last and stoops down to enter the doorway. He steps just to the side of the door and leaves it open to the street, watching for anyone coming in from outside. In his hand furthest from the door, Breccia draws one of his punching daggers and keeps it firmly gripped. The other hand is left open, for the time being.

"We should search the premises," Breccia intones, seeing the girl's obvious distress but showing no outward compassion or empathy.

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

Finally hearing something he can understand, Breccia turns his profile towards Tania, finally regarding the others instead of the subject of their interrogation. There's a moment of stony (ha!) silence before the oread's voice rumbles out.

"ધ રોલિંગ સ્ટોન શેવાળ ભેગી નથી," Breccia states in the earthen tongue of elementals. Then, with an incline of his helmeted head he reiterates and simplifies the phrase. "We benefit greatly from action."

___________

Terran:

The rolling stone does not gather moss.

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

Likewise unable to speak Vudrani, Breccia moves to stand beside Nesipho as he watches the body language and mannerisms of the foreigner Tania and Prashant are speaking to in an effort to assess him in a way that the oread can understand.

_____
Sense Motive: Take 20 = 20

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

Having vigilantly stood watch over the group in the night, Breccia stoicly follows behind the others once they have decided to leave and head for the estate. Contrary to his usual unflinching demeanor, Breccia greets the morning not with weapons drawn but with a tiny ceramic teacup in one hand, a soothing aromatic blend of herbs wafting up from within. Quietly sipping at the tea, the tall stone warrior watches the front door of the estate just behind Nesipho, seeming content with the day's turn of events thus far.

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

Sorry for the delay, guys! The move went smoothly, and thanks Nesipho for the good roll! ;)

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

Just a heads up guys, I'm finally moving into my new apartment over the next few days and will be painting the rooms and doing a little bit of touch-up work on the place. After tonight my posting availability will be a little sparse until I get settled in, probably Monday or Tuesday.

If anyone needs to GMPC me feel free. I'll be trying to keep up but I might lag behind a little!

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

Looking down to Tania, Breccia's head tilts subtly to the side with a grinding noise of stone on stone. "Do not mistake practicality for kindness," he states in simple instruction.

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

Following along behind the group, it has been a long while since Breccia said anything. Though his heavy footfalls provided a constant reminder of his presence, he has left that as his only intrusion into the investigation. Once the topic turns towards an area of his expertise, however, Breccia seems much more inclined to speak up. Having arrived at the inn, the towering oread looks up to the building, then towards Mahindra's residence.

"This one will stay vigilant through the night," Breccia explains in his level, rumbling tone of voice. "Many times this one has stood watch through night and day. His flesh is strong and his mind hardened, sleep will not take this one, and his eyes will be yours." Looking over to Tania, Breccia considers the woman for a moment, then Markis and Nesipho.

"Is this acceptable?"

__________
So, Breccia is offering to stay watch all night. He doesn't need rest nor does he prepare spells. I dug up the "going without sleep" rules from Carrion Crown here, but if the GM would like to work it in another fashion that's cool too. Breccia has a +8 Fortitude save so it shouldn't be too hard.

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

Just a general heads-up, for the month of August I won't have much weekend posting time. I'm in crunch-time on a Pathfinder project that needs to be done at month end and packing/preparing to move at the beginning of Sept (provided the apartment is ready and it doesn't get pushed back again x_x).

Just wanted to give everyone a heads-up on that! :)

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

Breccia waits a few feet from the group, arms crossed and watching the streets for anyone who stands out or otherwise looks to be giving them too much scrutiny.

____
Taking a 20 on Perception again while the group investigates. Result is a 23.

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

Ahhhh, okay. I thought we were thrown off the trail or given false information. Disregard that suspicious squinting, then.

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

Walking alongside the others with a ceramic bowl of steamed rice cradled in one stony hand, Breccia offers a nod of agreement to Nesipho's assessment. But on consideration of the discovery with some distance of time given, Breccia voices some curiosity. "Varunasi's location was incorrect. Should we consider the information suspect, or the source?"

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

I concur with Nesipho, I think that's a sound direction to go in.

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

Linguistics: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14 I forgot I even had ranks in Linguistics! :D

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

Having been quiet while Prashant and Nesipho were away, Breccia watches the girl's return with the same level of suspicion he had regarded her before. A low, grumbling sound emanates from the oread as he looks to Tania. But then, relaxing slightly, he exhales a sigh and seems frustrated with himself and his own reactions.

"In Katapesh," Breccia says quietly, "my former master used children as assassins. No one suspects a child, no one watches them closely." Furrowing his stony brows together, Breccia shakes his head slowly. "This one learned," sounds like a defense of his actions, until he adds, "re-learning, is hard."

"ધીમો પર્વત માતાનો ફેરફાર છે," Breccia quotes to Tania in his native tongue. "Change takes time."

Terran:

Slow do the mountains change.

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

Still looking quite confused, Breccia gingerly hands over the piece of paper to Tania, while watching the direction Nesipho and Pashant ran off in.

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

Smash cut to Ashaka tilting her head to the side, ears folded back and brows raised.

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

Nice diplomacy roll there, Tania. Thanks for cleaning up Breccia's Wis 10 + Cha 5 mess ;)

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

Gnashing his teeth, Breccia looks down to the girl and then up to his companions with a perplexed expression; he does not understand. Shooting a look to the crowd, Breccia seems torn between two conflicting extremes. Finally, looking back to Tania he replies, "She has seen the face of our enemy. What happens now is on you. જ્યાં તેઓ જ જોઈએ આ પત્થરો કરાયું."

With that order, Beccia releases the girl's wrist.

Spoiler:
The stones fall where they may.

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

Breccia is pretty oblivious to the fact that she might not speak Taldan, too. So feel free to impose a penalty on his Intimidate check (for purposes of getting information, I imagine she's plenty scared enough already.)

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

Breccia looks down at Prashant, and instead of releasing the girl holds the note print-out towards the priest. "જંગલ લાંબા પડછાયા છે," he plainly explains in his native tongue, before reiterating in Taldan. "She has had contact with the enemy. She is an information asset." The oread's dark, hematite eyes peer down at the girl and his grip around her wrist tightens some in defiance of Prashant's gentle ministrations.

"Who gave you this message? Lie, and I will squeeze harder." The oread's rumbling voice is deep and resonant, his normally reserved demeanor now a sudden avalanche of determination and fury, mitigated by his lack of forceful delivery and even sounding cadence of speech.

___________
Intimidate: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23

Terran:

"The forests shadows are long."

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

Having been vigilant about unfamiliar individuals approaching, Breccia steps around from the periphery of the group and takes the young girl's arm by the wrist. The action is forceful and without the decorum of anyone who has ever dealt with or handled a child before. With his other hand, the group's stony protector snatches the piece of paper out and gives the child a warning look.

Shaking the paper into an unfolded state, Breccia reviews it first while maintaining a firm hold on the child's wrist.

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

"પણ નદી વરસાદ જરૂર છે," Breccia opines from the rear of the group, his heavy footfalls a constant reminder of his otherwise stoic presence. He reiterates with an incline of his head, watching a man pass by the group with an attentive stare. "This one would eat."

Terran:
Even the river needs the rain.

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

Breccia is, as usual, quiet. So far it doesn't seem like we've been tailed (or Breccia hasn't noticed it, at least.)

Male Oread Fighter (brawler) 8

While the previous investigation held little for Breccia's attention and the threat of danger seemed distant, the current surroundings he finds himself in are far more to his particular tastes. In a temple devoted to the Master of Masters, Breccia finds comfort and familiar territory. More at ease here than earlier, Breccia keeps a respectful distance from the group, surveying the monastery and its occupants for signs of immediate danger. Ever the watchful sentinel, Breccia's stony form looms over the proceedings as a reminder that while some of the foreigners have sharp tongues, others have sharp blades.

________
Once again, taking a 20 on a Perception check while everyone talks to observe the surroundings for anyone/anything that seems suspicious or out of place; Result is a 23.
