So this is supposed to reflect the gunslinger and fighter .... I had this image in my heD of an awesome pirate like jack sparrowish character that I was going to be able to play .... But there is absolutely nothing that helps with pistols for this class intact I don't see much of the gunslinger at all aside from the grit mechanic.... I would really love to see a cutlass in one hand pistol in the other type pirate which is what this class should be
It can be difficult with flying creatures one thing that allowed me to still tank effectively was actual lying picking up the net feats that way when a creature tries to fly buy bam entangled strength check to pull it down and he has to stay within ten feet of you ... Now mind you I play pfs so we really only go up to lvl 12 and yes there are some situations where the encounter is just not made to be tank able but that's when you two hand your weapon and do as much damage as possible
I would like to put my two cents in here as an experienced tank in pathfinder ... All I have ever played is tank classed and i have tried them all barb pally fighter even wild shape druid as far as protecting my party goes I have found there is no class better then a phalanx fighter with reach .... If you boost your ac with a heavy shield amulet of armor and bracers of armor then place your character in front of your party and make sure you have combat reflexes anything that wants to get to them usually has to get by you and take an aoo and if they do they have to stop moving also you get to add your shield bonus to an adjacent ally if they do get past at higher levels the only thing more effective that I've used is possibly an invulnerable ranger barbarian
So I have a third level fighter who tends to prefer a reach weapon and nets ( kind gladiator style) I want to give him a mount to charge in on recently someone told me about a woolly rhino that has some great stats.. This character is pfs only how can I make this possible? Do I just have to buy the rhino? Do I need certain feats to own and use a mount? And if so what ate they?
basically resinous skin makes it so that when you attack you have to make a reflex save or your weopon is stuck my question is does that automatically disarm your opponent if it is stuck to you? or does he still hold on to the handle? and if so if i move away do i have to do an opposed strength check? or does he automatically step up? how does that work? this is for pathfinder society rules me and my gm just arent sure
actually i dont know if you ever played the game diablo 2 but this is a great opportunity..hear me out what if you struggle with some minor demons (since its only the first level of hell) and get some gear drops and as you work your way down the levels your character becomes twisted and curropted from all the horrers he experianced and end up turning into an antipaladin and champion of the underworld? great storty to play in my opinion a great character fall from grace story and instead of having to kill the final boss you join him and hell probably quip you pretty well
Baron Ulfhamr wrote: How about a cleric/summoner with a coatl eidolon? Give him a dagger for heart-removals and a couple other exotic weapons of choice, and you have an Aztec priest of Quetzelcoatl! yea this would be a great aztec priest type character but i was thinking more of a martial one like the jaguar or eagle warriors of the aztec culture
What do you mean why? Because Aztec warriors are awesome! And I would love to play a class that is based of my history as opposed to another European or Asian or Celtic guy .. Yea odroude ranger sounds pretty good but do you think he will be feat starved with everything I would need to make this viable ?
Yea look up a jaguar warrior from the Aztec military or the eagle warrior if boy Wikipedia it than basically what I want to make... If I can get a jaguar pet in there then great if not fine but. E has to be viable in combat I want him to be able to throw javelins atlatl darts or poise darts from afar and get up close and personal with the tubutje or tubutille for melted and am be even throw some bolas for fun? But he does have to be able to hold his own in a fight open to any and all builds and need some idea on the ability score spread
I was thinking maybe he would sen in his jaguar while throwing javili a at his enemies or possbly poisen darts but prefer javilen and if he has to be in mellee like the idea of the terbutje for flavor or a spear .. Was thinking of making him a Druid we he can also call upon his primal gods for elemental powers and take the shape I jungle beasts ? Any thoughts ? Or comments? Or any idea on how to build it?
so i am of hispanic desent and i've noticed theres really no spanish type charecters most of them are from europ or asian types but nothing from like south america so i want to try and make one, i was thinking of an aztec type warrior or maybe amazon i dont know any ideas? i would like him to also be viable in combat though not overly gimped. Initial thoughts were like a druid with a panther companion wielding a spear for like an aztec feel to it? anyone know of anything that exists in game like this or have thoughts? thanks!
i made a paladin with a 7 intellect stat which means -2 modifier when i lvl it from level 1 to lvl 2 on hero lab it gives me 2 skill points to use as i see fit but my loval venture capatain says that because its -2 modifier i dont get any skill ranks at all =? i read on a pally guide that i still get the two points and when i bring his modifer to +0 it gives me 4 instead of 2? am i correct or is he? im a human pally lvl 2
Ok so here's the deal I'm starting a new campaign and my party really wants me to play paladin .. I want to be a classic sword and board pally you know the tank in the middle of the fight defending his allies and such.. But every guide I see tells me it's crap .. First off any advice building this? I have a 15 point buy an plan to be human ..was also thinking maybe flail would help to try and be more of a controller type tank?.... And secondly why would pathfinder be so hard on classic pallies? It feels like they just don't want you to play this type of pally it's like making a ranger not good at archery? I don't get it
hey guys, i wanted to make a shape shifting druid, i am new to PFS. The local GM for the pfs told me shape shifting druids pretty much suck. i did alot of research and found a feat called shaping focus in the ultimate magic handbook. my question is would i be allowed to roll druid to lvl 4 then put 1 level in fighter take shaping focus and be able to use wild shape as if i were a lvl 8 druid into a huge beast? ive seen several PFS players make guides telling us that this is they way to go to be a shape shifting druid.when i brought it up to the GM he said he wasnt sure if this is legal in PFS or not.. any one out there know? it seems to be the standard way of rolling a melee druid? |
