Completely relaxed in the company of the friendly ranger and his family, Bogorin ibibes more than he had been allowing himself of late and so ends up in a fine drunk, roaring his laughter right along with that of the children to Iriesys' simple tricks and jokes. He challenges Dreadan and Nodin to arm wrestling matches and, if accepted, gives a better account of himself than mightbe expected for one his age. But he loses good naturedly, clapping the victors on the shoulders. At one point he suddenly stands and yells "That's right! I remember! I must go now and..." and then instantly topples to a hard landing on the floor, completely passed out and very quickly snoring fit to wake the dead. He is impossible to wake up. The next morning he finally wakes, obviously incredibly hung over. Refusing to speak to anyone at first, he stumbles of to do his morning toilet. While there he can be heard mumbling something to himself. by the time he comes back he seems to have recovered and improved dramatically. Eyes bright and clear, he straps on his gear and says "Right! Let's get on wit it then, wasted enuff time already we did." and follows the lead of the ranger taking them to the place they are to continue looking for the lost enchanter.
Bogorin shrugs his shoulders, not much caring, as, by his accounts, the girl is likely long dead, or fled with some other lover. Much more interested in the quest he's sworn to undertake for Ol Grizzler, he asks the group "So? What do ye think 'bout headin' inta tha dark woods, tae rid 'em o' the evil spirits n' undead n' such n' try n' find n' bring back the remains o' Ol' Grizzler's friends?"
Knowing that most of the others, except for Dreadan, have poor night vision, Bogorin agrees "Aye, best compare notes and start out our search fresh in the morning. But perhaps Dreadan and meself kin do some quick scouting of the hog brook now? Just in case there still be some urgency ta findin her?"
Whoo-hoo! This train may slow down from time to time but it ain't a stoppin! :D And nope, apparently Bogo don't know nuttin' about nuttin' goin' around him either. Although charm has never been his forte, one thing the old dwarf does know about and can appreciate is hard work and the mighty thirst that goes along with it. With a crooked grin, he pulls free his flask and says "'Ere, ye look like ye've earned a healthy swing or two." as he tosses it over to the sweaty woodsman. Don't know if any of ya were paying attention to Bogo's spoilers or not, but basically we've got another quest on our hands when we have the time for it. Bogorin would've told everyone about it during the walk here, so you can go back and read all the spoilers if you want or, at some point I can have him bring it up IC, whatever y'all prefer.
Joining in to finish the saying, with pride in his voice and a smile on his face Bogorin says in Dwarven "...It matters not what you fight, but what you fight for. I shall return with my companions as soon as I'm able my friend. Until then, take care of yourself!" and then hurries off to the tavern to find his young team mates.

Borgorin listens quietly again to the elder, then, when Grizzler is finished, he places his gnarled hand on the wizened one and replies "Ye don' have tae ask my friend, as I've already offered. N'I give my word now, if my friends agree to it, I shall see yer friends avenged and the evil that took them down destroyed for good. Speaking of them, I should go find them I reckon before they get themselves in too much trouble without me there. Will you come with me or do ye care to sit here a spell more?"
With the Old Dwarf: Thanks for taking the time to write all that Ringtail, it's Great! Bogorian listens politely and with genuine interest to the old dwarf, respect for his elders ingrained into the very fiber of his being. As Grizzler spins his tale, Bogorin finds himself nodding in many places, easily able to relate to many experiences of the Dwarven miner living so far and so long away from his hold and people. As well Bogorin can especially relate to the tales of adventure and betrayal and a most sour look crosses Bogorin's face as his own bitter memories surface once again. He unconsciously moves to take a swig of his flask, stops with it halfway to his mouth, looks at it, curses, and sets it back down, undrunk. As the ancient dwarf finishes his tale, Boggo simply nods again, looking at the water and quiet for a while as he thinks on all he has heard. Finally he looks back up at Grizzler and giving him a sincere look in the eye as he says in Dwarven "Many thanks to you grandfather for sharing your tale. I hope that one day soon you can enlist a bard to record your tale for posterity. Such wisdom and experience as you have to share should not be lost to the Kin." Bogorin turns his head to the side, hawks and spits and again stares straight ahead at the calm water, a sour twist to his lips as he says "I sure aint no stranger to betrayal myself. I won't bore you with my sorry tale right now, but I will say that I wish I'd have picked up fishing as my addiction instead of this demon" he says, looking down in a rare moment of hate and anger towards his usually beloved drink. His strong, stubby fingers grasp the flask tightly and for a sweet moment he seriously considers throwing it into the river. But the moment passes and he doesn't. He looks back at Grizzler, respect and admiration clear in his eyes as he says "So you've had a direct hand in the creation of the entire Harenshire eh? That's quite the accomplishment my friend! It's a shame and an insult though that ye haven't been properly reward for all you've given of yourself." He thinks a moment more then says "Grizzler, I would find it a great honour to be able to find that necklace for you, and escort you to return it to the ancestors of your friend, if you'd like. I can't promise that my companions will agree to such a thing, but they seem a pretty eager group, up for just about anything. Plus, if there's still evil as you say lurking in the Gleamin' Glade it should be purged before more fall to it's curse. If you'll allow me, I would be pround to march and fight there in your stead. What say you? Is this something you would want?" and he waits for the reply, almost childlike in his eagerness for approval for his dwarven elder.
Can only speak for myself Ringtail but not only is your apology accepted, it's not even needed. You've had a Whole lot on your plate of late! 100% understandable that you've had other priorities and things on your mind! While i absolutely love the ability to get my creative and RPG/D&D fix my playing on the Paizo boards here, in the end, despite how much I get out of it, it is still just a game, and real life always has to trump the 'pretend one'. So please, never think twice about taking whatever time you need to get yourself well and in a good place physically, mentally and emotionally. On the other hand though, I personally have always found that a good bit of fantasy escapism here and there can do wonders at helping me feel better if I'm a little off for whatever reason ; ) PS Great advice Telsyn! : )
Bogorin sits down and smiles at being called 'lad', and surprisingly it is not such a hideous sight, his grin. He seems somehow softer, and even younger, than his companions have yet seen him before. He takes back the flash and takes another swing and then sets in down on the bench between them. Turning to look back over his shoulder briefly he waves his hand in a shooing gesture and says "A'right, off with ye lot then. I'm gonna sit and chat fer a bit wit' me new friend Grizzler 'ere. I'll catch up with ye at the Baron soon." Then he turns back and answers the elder dwarf Dwarvish: "Aye, I know it's a strange sight, haven't quite got used to it myself yet to tell you the truth. Have only been with them a few days but they don't seem to be a bad lot for all their not being of the people. Even the green-skin ain't so bad. Can handle himself in a fight he can, and seems to be pretty darn level headed for someone with orc-blood in him. I keep a close eye on him though, all the same. For blood runs true as they say, and you never can tell." He sighs, picks up the flask, looks at it for a moment then with a forwn sets it back down. "As for me? Well, much as it shames me to admit, I lost myself in the drink I did, for a mighty long time. But one day not too long ago, I woke up on the ground, underneath some table in some bar somewhere and realized that I was going to die like that if I didn't change my ways. And that ain't no way for a dwarf to die, I don't have to tell you. So I dug out my old equipment, was surprised to find it still fit and that I hadn't forgot how to swing a hammer. I then set about to find some work and this group here just happened to be the others who answered the call. I know I ain't got quite the muscle or stamina as I did in my prime, and I know I've forgotten more than I remember. But I can learn again. And if I'm to die, it'll be on my feet, with my weapon on in my hand and my enemy at my feet, dead before I am." Bogorin does not sound or seem angry or upset as he says this, in fact he speaks as one who has calmly, but determinedly decided upon his own fate. He looks at the flask again, frowns, picks it up, takes a big swing, sighs and finishes with [b]"I ain't quite ready to give up the drink yet, don't know as I ever will be, but I also ain't gonna let it run my life no more. But anyway, enough about you. What keeps you here in this part Grizzler? You're the first Dwarf around these parts I've seen in I don't remember when. Why have you stuck around?"
Bogorin also seems to be quite bemused himself to see another Dwarf, not something he had been expecting at all and not something that had happened for sometime. Also already half into his cups though, he is feeling friendly and is quite happy to meet one of his kinsmen (as all Dwarves are. Also, Note, Bogorin is the kind of Dwarf who gets mean and surly when he's Not drinking, not the other way around) Ignoring the others for the moment Bogorin speaks his own tongue for the first time in what seems like ages In Dwarvish "Greetings grandfather, may your drink be strong and your pockets be deep. I've been walking for what feels like days now trying to keep up with all of these stretched out tree huggers and what nots. Do you mind if I join you and sit for a spell to rest these tired old legs?" As he speaks the old dwarf also hands over his flask to the even older dwarf.
"I know! I gotsh eyes, don' I??" the Dwarf rejoins as he catches up. But the grumbling seems more habitual than anything else for his scowl is less, scowl-y and his good mood seems undiminished. Then, as he reaches them he stops and says with an almost smile "So, which one o ye asked where this Jellynith's folks be livin' then?" He really does seem to be assuming that somehow did ask where they live, even though, logically, he would have heard it if they had.
"Hail and well met Garyld! Nice tae shee a crafer, after the Dwarven 'eart that be. Well, not tae worry, we'll be findin' the wee lassh right quick we will, or me name ain't Bogorin the Brave! Why, I kin tell ye 'bout thish one time, at..." but that point the slightly slurring Dwarf realizes that his companions have moved on her, with a wave, he hurries to catch up. To those of his companions paying attention, the slight slur and certainly unusual friendliness seem to be clear indicators that, as they were trudging along the dry and dusty road, the old Dwarf has been sipping from his flask that doesn't contain water. Other than those two suspicions signs though, he shows no other indications of being inebriated.

That along the lines of what you were looking for? ; ) Guess it's a good thing he made that will save though or we'd be finding out if he did have 'The Best Feat Ever' or not...
Although Bogorin would most certainly have been the first one to grab his stack of gold, for continuities sake, I'll go with Nodin's play Knowledge(history): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
Not being too familiar with the laws of the region Bogorin's face shows an interesting and somewhat amusing mix of confusion, anger and dismay. However the moment he learns from the others that the damned human was trying to cheat him out of his gold his face starts to very quickly purple in rage. That Nodin picks and particularly poor time to go poking a dwarf on the head. (The Barbarian is apparently not a student of history and is therefore not aware of the short but viscous and bloody 'War of the Long Finger' which had been started for that exact same reason) Turning first to deal with the Barbarian, Bogorin pushes Nodin square in the chest. Not hard enough to send the big man stumbling but certainly hard enough to let him know that the next push, should it be provoked, would be much harder. The shove is followed by the angry warning "Git yer bloody ogre mitts offa me ye blasted tree trunk!" He then spins to face the squire, stepping as close as the edge of the desk will allow and blasts "R ye a fool man! Oviusly ye ain't never met a Dwarf afore or ye'd know tha' trying tae cheat one outta 'is 'ard earned gold is a damn good way tae git yerself kilt!"
Struggling mightily with his urge to leap across the table and throttle the human, finally, realizing that while he and his allies may have the clear advantage in this room, becoming a hunted criminal was not the best prospect for increasing one's profit. With a sigh, he snatches his gold off the table, leans in very close and says much more calmly, but with threat still clear in his voice "Ye try n' charge me any o' yer bogus taxes lad n' it'll be the last thing ye do." He then turns and stomps to the door, where he turns again, leans against the frame and glares generally at everyone in the room who is not currently giving him something cold, wet and alcoholic to drink. Hey all, just to say, I'm trying to play and portray Boggo as a long time alcoholic who's doing his best to stay off the heavy drink but is none too pleased about it. But if I ever go over the line or play it a bit too much, please just lemme know and I'll pull back. Cheers. Oh! Ah, um, I mean, Coolio.
What are the rules for a PC having a heart attack? Sense Motive: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15 Frozen into immobility for a moment by the sight of all the gold, Bogorin finally shakes himself and moves forward, perhaps a bit to quickly for the guard's liking. Noticing Marlen's forced mannor but not even remotely caring, unable to find his voice at the moment he simply thrusts the payment notice towards the Squire, managing to grunt "'ere" He declines the offer to sit. The particularly perceptive can motive a bead of sweat begin to trickle down the side of his face from underneath the helmet mashed on top of his thick head of hair.
Yup, especially the cashing in part. As the gold is placed into his waiting palms, for a moment his companions think the old Dwarf is having some sort of seizure. But after a a couple of seconds, they realize the horrible rictus on Bogorin's face is actually his version of an avaricious smile. It is, quite clearly, not a pretty sight. After a couple more moments he notices the horrified and/or uncomfortable states and, the 'smile' disappearing to be replaced by the much more welcome and comfortable scowl, grunts sourly "What? I be a Dwarf. I like Gold. Bah! Tae tha lot o' ya!" and stomps off and prepares to leave on the next stage of their journey.
Cash is Always king. And I mean the 24 carat kind, not the 'shiny but what is it really made of' kind. As for Bogorin, being the 'recovering' alcoholic he's certainly slept in much worse places than the floor of a mage's tower. And with bedrolls? Well, now yer jus' gettin all fancy on 'im. Just for curiosity though, how much is a room at the inn?
Ah, see but that's where it all starts. First this 'paper money' is convenient, but before you know it they've depleted the gold stocks upon which it was supposed to be based, through forced inflation have elevated the perceived value of it until it becomes meaningless and have printed and given out several times more of it than can possibly exist...sigh, I bet a few Dwarves could fix up the global economy right quick they could.
Bogorin seems sullen and dissinterestd through most of the conversation, concentrating on the food, and most especially the ale, set before him. At the mention of coin though his attention is suddenly fully alert. "Now, now, just a moment'ere. How much coin is we discussing 'ere, exactly? N' I fer one ain't startn' no new bizness until we've fully finished discussin' the last bit, if ye know what I mean?" Sorry, my memory fails from when we started this campaign all the way back. We're we never supposed to get any actual cash from Tauster himself? If no, were we supposed to get it?
As the elf makes his point, Bogorin stops, grunts, and squints at him. Obviously thinking for a moment he finally grunts in displeasure again and turns the boy towards the tower before stomping off once more. After a few strides he says loudly back over his shoulder "But we settle up tha pay n' such after tha boy's gone!" The astute of hearing can also hear him mumble to himself after that "Damn pointy eared tree huggers, always thinkin' their so smart. Course I woulda thought o' that! Was jus testin' tha lot o' d'em." He then looks down at the closed pouch for a while, then growls and looks up and keeps marching forward toward the tower. The boy, glancing back, sees the old Dwarf's face, gasps, blanches, and immediately starts scuttling forward more quickly.
Knowledge(history): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 Thoroughly unimpressed with the human town, Borgorin grunts, spits to the side and says "Hmm, I'm thinkin' we don't need tae be draggin this lad around wi' us when we make our deliv'ry." He replies, not wanting any eyes other than those necessary seeing the gold he'll be getting as his pay. "What say we at least drop off tha boy first n' let the mayor know wot's wot. We kin always come back n' talk tae 'im later if we want, right?" Not waiting for a reply, he shoves the boy a bit again, not roughly or unkindly though and says "Well, don' jus' stan' there lad. Where to next? Might as well see tha Mayor straight off n' git this bizness settl'd I figure." Grunting again in impatience, the old dwarf looks down as the flask on his belt, grimaces, looks away, looks back down again, curses, quickly rips it free opens the cap and takes a swig, and sighs. Then he grimaces, closes it, curses again and roughly stuffs the flask into a small pouch at his side. He then glares at the boy as if the whole thing were somehow the poor lad's fault.
Heal: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
The old dwarf shakes his head, having no idea really "Mebbe it 'as sumthin tae do wit that drink o' 'is e was takin'? Bah! 'E was better off dead anyway I says, good riddance." With a shrug and a spit off to the side, he almost completely dismiss the corpse in front of him from his mind. "So, off tae the vilage tae drop off this lad 'ere n' talk tae the town leader, eh?" he says to the group in general.
oops! Missed that we can roll Heal as well, that obviously his better stat Heal: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16 Night before: "A'ight lad, I believe, ye kin stop skakin' no, ain't none o' us care tae see ye wet yerself." as there seems to be nothing further gained from the lad, the old dwarf is content to let the matter rest, for now. Next Day: Cursing as he realizes that the leader had escaped their clutches by dying, and so that therefore so to did his master. Borgorin is about to turn away in disgust when he notices something out of the corner of his eye and turns back "'Ey now! Wot's that!" and bending closer he points it out so that everyone can now notice the trickle of blood coming out of the mans ear. "'Ey! What you lot make o' that then?" Borgorin asks as he at the same time considers what it might signify and carefully looks the corpse over from head to toe. . [ooc[ Is there another heal or knowledge check possible to determine what might have caused the bleeding through the cranial orifices? [/ooc]

Hey if there's anyone interested in a Fallout style PbP there's just starting up over here. It's meant to be a BIG game looks like so it will need lots and lots of players. Hope ta see ya there!
Fighter's ye call 'em! Bah! Tree trunks is more like it! Lookit tha size o 'em! Makes it almost impossible ta miss 'em it does! Now, ye take yer average Dwarven warrior..why, I remember this one time, wasn't but 80 years ago, when me n' three other Dwarves took on a whole tribe o' half-elf, half-orc savages. Ye see it all started when...
Lol Brask Hmmm, while I am quite fond of old Bogorin as it's now looking pretty sure that the other game is going to resurrect I certainly don't need to play him twice. And suddenly, wouldn't you know it, a certain Daredevil/Savage Skald Bard is yelling at me to let him out so he can kick in the teeth of those $%^#$@ humans trying to rip off his people. This could be Fun! Will need another day though to 'create' him so please all try to keep alive until he gets there! Oh, Ps, NO BAG PIPES!! EDIT: I'm not seeing that Bard's get Disable Device, am I missing something? Or did they change something?
