A character sheet so massive it needs its own table of contents

4/5

When I first saw this in my subscription order, I groaned. I just knew this was going to be a waste of my money, and be something I wouldn't be able to use at all. Had I not already been late for work (curse you, snooze button!) I probably would have written up a nastygram and DEMANDED I have my subscription cancelled or put on hold just to avoid this product.

I was late for work, though. And I'm lazy -- I didn't do it right then, so I kept putting it off and putting it off until it was much too late. Le sigh.

Well, now I have it. I was surprised at how thorough and detailed it was. Moreso, after giving it a sample print and flipping through it myself, I could almost see me using it for myself. I couldn't help but to realize just how useful this would be for most of the other players at my table, though.

I was stunned to see a Table of Contents for a Character Sheet. I mean, seriously? But, in all the chaos that goes on at my tables, I can completely see someone getting lost in the sheet. So maybe a ToC isn't such a bad idea after all, especially if the sheet does so well for inexperienced players.

The other reviewers who have remarked on the stylized backgrounds are spot-on. I didn't notice it myself, in my B&W print, but I can see that the texture and standard faux-parchment background that exists on other Paizo products will suck an ink cartridge dry, and/or make the printed sheet look less impressive. If you're at all worried about that, I'd definitely advise getting it printed in B&W.

Bottom line -- I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this sheet. I went into looking at it with some pretty high expectations, and a strong bias against it. It certainly overcame my bias. If the less-experienced players at my table can use this and have any better idea of what their characters can do, then I'll chalk this product up to a win.

Best $10 purchase I almost didn't make.
