"Lander, I can see you are really coming on. Thanks for the bout. Next time I'm in Silverhall, we can have a rematch. In the meantime, hone your skills, keep your family safe." Bledren is astounded to behold the Horn of Aroden, and admires its craftsmanship. He thanks Dame Sarrona for the gift and also congratulates Waki, Leepo, Aldrea, Kay, and Tiberiass for their actions and for the team's success. "Hey, we did great! I know we'll all be scattered to the winds, but I look forward to adventuring with yeh again. Best of luck on your journeys." Thanks Oykiv! Thanks everyone! This has been fun. And woohoo, a boon!
Male Dwarf Brawler (shield champion) 1
Bledren waits patiently as Lander stalks towards him and throws a clumsy punch. The dwarf weaves to the right and boxes the lad on the ear. He follows up with a left jab to the gut. "Don't worry, you're doing great! Keep it up. Now, go on plant one on me chin here. Go on, you can do it!" He continues to circle around, calling out advice to Lander - "Keep your fists up, guard the face, yes that's it! Then jab jab...yes! Nearly got me that time." Woohoo! Best initiative roll ever. Two attacks, nonlethal unarmed strikes. Bledren has unarmed strike, so no penalty to attack. nonlethal attack with feasts: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
nonlethal attack with feasts: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17

"I'm sure Marek was a good trainer. We can see that in your, um, fighting style. But as for allegiances...well, perhaps you should have a discussion with Marek yourself on that score. If he proves us wrong, we'll apologize." At Lander's mention of a fight, Bledren's eyes brighten. How about wrestling? You're pretty good with a sword, but what about when you're blade's been snapped and all you've got are your fists? Wrestling's a true test of a warrior's mettle. But afterwards, please come home with us. A wise warrior is true to their obligations, and yours I think is your family."

I'll be temporarily out of action, mice chewed through some of wiring around the house and it's caused all sorts of problems over the weekend. Internet's currently down, and so I reckon I'll be out of action until it's sorted. If I get an opportunity I'll post during my lunchbreak at work, but realistically it might be towards the end of the week when things are up and running at home again. For Lander, I suggest someone tries some training with him, try to earn his respect or offer to teach him some of the finer points of adventuring. Does anyone's characters have any famous contacts? We could offer to help him towards becoming a Pathfinder agent.

No problem, not charging but action is still the same, if birds close within 10 feet of the party then move to intercept. shield bash: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15

Bledren's grateful for Tiberiass' spell and is ready to charge in, but at Kay's words he halts. He gears himself for a charge if the things try to attack. Ready action to charge the birds if they move within 10ft of the group. shield bash: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15

Diplomacy: 1d20 ⇒ 4 Oh man! Bledren looks incredulously from Aldrea to Lander to the small dead reptilian thing. "Look, kid. We're adventurers, right? That means we work together. As a team. Not fighting each other! You've been telling us what a great blademaster you are, then you can show us a real warrior's courtesy. Harrumph!" He, uh, keeps his shield close, just in case.
Male Dwarf Brawler (shield champion) 1
Still here, have just had internet troubles this past week - one thing after another! Am here now, thanks GM for NPCing Bledren. In addition to above action, just trying to work out what this "foul dragon" really is - Percpetion check.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8 Bah! Stupid dice.
Male Dwarf Brawler (shield champion) 1
Bledren grinds his teeth, as the lordling's comments begin to grate. Lander! You seem keen to take up the adventuring life. What draws you to it? You don't fancy working closer to home? Your family must worry about you." Bledren has a go at complimenting Lander's fighting stance, giving a couple lighthearted suggestions and trying to aid Waki's attempts to improve Lander's attitude towards the party. Diplomacy check to aid Waki: 1d20 ⇒ 6 Hmmm....
Male Dwarf Brawler (shield champion) 1
"World-shattering invasion?" Bledren mutters under his breath. Still, the lordling could be right. He lifts one of his javelins and casually hurls it at the worker ant. It wafts off into the trees. ranged attack with javelin: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 Not including Tiberias' bless as his action is after Bledren's

Bledren tackles Aldona, trying to pin the woman to the ground. He realizes though that she's already unconscious, taken out by Waki's martial arts. The dwarf picks himself up, looking a bit sheepish. "Ah. Right. She's out. I knew that. Anyway, I've got some rope, let's tie her up, tight." Once the group frees Lander from the chest, Bledren looks him up and down, nonplussed. "Is this the kid? Huh." Will indeed use the hemp rope in my kit to tie up Aldona.
Male Dwarf Brawler (shield champion) 1
Nice one Waki! Perception check: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16 Bledren is shocked to see Kay go down. What is it going to take to defeat this wolf-woman? The dwarf feels powerless in this fight, not a feeling he enjoys. In rage he leaps forward and tries to tackle Aldona to the ground, hoping to pin her down so others can get in their own attacks. "Quick! Let's pin her down and skewer her. Then let's find out who she's got stashed in her tent." Attempt to start grapple with Aldona. This is not going to end well.
Male Dwarf Brawler (shield champion) 1
Been a busy weekend here too. Bledren's nonplussed as he realizes that the woman is unfazed by his attack. Surely, she should have been dazed at the least! "Oh, did you like that? Well here, have some more!" Grabbing his shield by the rim, he tries to slap her upside the head. Shield bash: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12 Straight up full attack.
Kay thanks for the attempted assist. To be honest, I've got nothing that's gonna hurt a lycanthrope apart from a thunderstone. My best hope is to keep this wolf-woman occupied so that the rest of the party with silver weapons can set up their attacks.

Bledren prepares to be heroic and dashes in to bring the wounded Waki out of danger, then realizes the ninja is nowhere to be seen! "Well, alright then! Back to the fight!" The dwarf changes tack and rushes the woman Aldona and tries to bludgeon her with his spiked shield. 5ft move diagonally towards Aldona.
Male Dwarf Brawler (shield champion) 1
Bledren charges forward as the fight centers around the other side of the campfire. Holding his shield in front of him, he tries to reach Waki, intending to drag him out of harm's way and then to help Tiberias with the bandit he is fighting. Double move for a total of 40ft, I think that should get me roughly between Waki and the Red Bandit. That's my actions for this round so intend to hunker down behind my shield for the rest of the round until I can pull the stricken Waki away from the frontline for healing.
Male Dwarf Brawler (shield champion) 1
I couldn't see where Bledren was in the initiative order, so if it's alright I'll just post an action now just to avoid holding up the action in case I don't get a chance to post over next couple days. Basically, keep to the same general idea, charge the green guy if still standing and try to help Tiberias take him down. At this stage I think I'll forget the bluff and go straight into combat. I've reposted my earlier post, I was thinking to keep to my original dice rolls to save confusion but GM if you want me to re-roll just let me know. Bledren Shieldmason wrote:

Sorry everyone for my absence, things have been busy lately: work busy, doing coursework on my own time, and the kids have been on holiday too. Glad to be back! Before moving in on the bandit camp, Bledren points out "You know, I'm not the most stealthy guy around. How about I just head straight up the trail? If they see me, I'll just try to bluff. If that doesn't work, I'll just charge in. I'll try to hang back a bit so everyone can get into position." Stealth: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11 Approaching the camp, Bledren tries to keep to the shadows, but he doesn't really expect to stay hidden for long. He keeps the hood of cloak up, obscuring his features. He keeps his shield handy too. If the bandits call out or challenge him, Bledren tries to act amiable. "Hello! Do you mind if I share your fire? I should have stopped to camp earlier, and I think it's going to be a cold night. But can't be helped, eh?" Bluff: 1d20 ⇒ 14 If the bandits don't really go for his deception, then Bledren just charges in! I like the map! Didn't realize at first that I could move Bledren. Initial move I tried to 20 feet from the bandits, so that next round Bledren can set up a charge. Shield bash: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 3 + 2 = 22 Includes bonus for charging. AC -2.

"Silver! Wow, well I've never wrestled a werewolf before but there's always a first time. What say we leave these guys tied up here in the woods until we come back? I've got some more rope. I don't like the thought of just killin' em now that they've surrendered, but we shouldn't waste time going after Lander."
Male Dwarf Brawler (shield champion) 1
Appraise: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18 "Hey, Leepo, you're right. Well spotted." Bledren stomps closer to the bound human. "Well? What do you have to say for yourself? I'd say you've picked the wrong kind of work. You oughta speak up if you're wanting to see tomorrow. Tell us where you got these weapons from."
Male Dwarf Brawler (shield champion) 1
Sorry for my absence, been a busy week. Bledren leaps forward, blocking blows with his shield and laying waste with his fist. He's hoping to catch the leader off guard, keeping the man from using his bow and giving the rest of the group some breathing space. Move to engage the leader and make an unarmed attack. If possible move around the leader so as to provide Waki with a flanking opportunity. unarmed attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Meant to mention marching order in my last post, for Bledren I thought he'd want to be at the front. He's a charge the enemy kind of guy, and also he's short so the rest of you can shoot over his head.
Male Dwarf Brawler (shield champion) 1
Addressing Marek: "Thank you sir, we'll do our best to find him, and gods be kind return him safe and sound. A pleasure to meet you, I'll return to look at those shields once this trouble's sorted out." With nothing else to add, he gets up to leave. Sense Motive check: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19 Bledren is apparently too trusting of a fellow smith to be suspicious. Once outside, he turns to the group. "Well, what do you think? Should we head out of town on the southwest road? Aside from looking for Lander, these bandits sounds like bad news."
Male Dwarf Brawler (shield champion) 1
Talking with the blacksmith Marek, Bledren does a double take when he sees Kay a few chairs along sticking a knife in her mouth. "Well, we hardly need an excuse to introduce ourselves to a swordsman of such esteem. But, as it happens, we are looking for a student of yours - Lander Lebeda. Have you seen him? Do you know his mother, Dame Lebeda? She employed us to make sure he returns home safely."
Male Dwarf Brawler (shield champion) 1
At the meeting: Bledren notices Kay's look of distaste and hastily brushes his arm against his mouth and beard. "Sorry about that! Where are my manners. Can't say I've come across your son before or heard of this smith, but it sounds like he might be one to talk to. My father was a smith, I'll look forward to meeting him." At the smith: Bledren stomps in and offers a hand to the smith, following Tiberiass' introductions "Well met! My name is Bledren Shieldmason. I must say this is a well-stocked smithy, reminds me of my father's. Do you craft many shields? He made this," he indicates the spiked shield that he carries. "As my friend Tiberiass mentions, we heard you also know a thing or two about using these weapons. Do you instruct many students?"
Male Dwarf Brawler (shield champion) 1
A dwarf stomps into the room with steely blue eyes and spiky read hair and beard. On his left forearm he casually bears a stout rounded, spiked shield. In his other hand he holds a chicken leg, which he tucks into with relish. Food sprays into his beard and everywhere as he talks. "My apologies my lady for entering late, I happened upon the kitchens on my way upstairs here. I'm famished after our journey here. By the way, this is delicious. Well seasoned. My compliments to your chef. We'll find your missing boy, and make sure he realizes his responsibilities." Despite his uncouth appearance, he does manage a fairly courteous bow. The dwarf turns to the rest of the team and offers the chicken leg around. "You want some? It's delicious." He thumps his chest for a minute, forcing a large gulp down. "I chatted briefly with some of you on the trip here, but don't think I had a chance to make proper introductions. Bledren's my name, Bledren Shieldmason. Well met."
Oops, my apologies thought Bledren's stats were already there, but I see I never copied them across. Have done so now, just recently rolled him up for attending PaizoCon UK a few weeks past. Just missing some minor details (height, age, most notably equipment) that I have on his character sheet, which I've temporarily misplaced. I'm fine with everyone else making decisions in my absence and with either GM or the rest of the party NPCing my character if need be in my absence. To keep the game moving, though my aim is to be posting regularly in any case. Looks like a very interesting party so far.
I'm keen to play too, with Bledren Shieldmason, lvl 1 dwarf shield champion brawler. I'm just curious about how fast you are expecting the game to move. With RL commitments I'm not able to post every day, would aim for every other day at least, and I would see the scenario through to the end. If you all are okay with that speed, then count me in! |
