I pre-ordered Skull & Shackles Part 1 awhile back thinking of an early March shipping date. However, this morning Amazon.com sent me an email stating that the release date has been pushed back and now the estimated delivery estimate is July 16-20, 2012!

What's going on? Sorry for the crosspost but I'm very disappointed if this is true.

Thanks.

Greetings!

I'm running the Savage Tide AP in Eberron and the group recently finished off the Bullywug Gambit with everyone reaching 6th level (yes, they took out Harliss Javell) and they are all loaded.

Here are my dilemmas which I hope someone can help me...

- A PC died in the Vanderboren Manor (6th level Kalashtar psionicist) and the group, and the player understandbly, want to bring him back. Considering that there are time limits on "Raise Dead" and "Resurrection" is an extremely high-level spell, does anyone have some good ideas on how to address this? There isn't anyone in Sasserine of high enough level to bring him back.

My first thought was to run the party over to "Expedition to Castle Ravenloft" with the gimmick that "...towards the West there is a man rumored to have conquered life and death..." I was also thinking that they could afford to lose a level or two, but maybe that's being too tough.

I have not yet read the third installment, "The Sea Wyvern's Wake" so maybe some of the problems could be solved there. I am afraid that I can't think of a 'realistic' way to get the PC back into the game nor a way to lighten the 'confidence' of the party by removing magic items and/or levels.

Another problem I am having with the group is that one PC in particular insists that Sasserine is a big enough town to go shopping for a flaming longsword +1. Now, I'm not fully abreast of all the rules, but considering that Sasserine is on the far eastern outskirts of Khorvaire and without any Dragonmarked Houses, what "rules" are in place to help a DM with what PCs can or cannot purchase in the town.

Any thoughts would be most appreciated.

I honestly have been deeply saddened by the discontinuation of Dragon and Dungeon magazines. My 12 y/o nephew, to whom I gave subscriptions last year, was in tears when he learned. Like many others on the lists expressing their discontent, sadness, anger, etc...I would like to contribute by letting Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro know my thoughts and disappointment.

Does anyone have the names and/or addresses of those individuals to whom I should write? Frankly, Scott Rouse's message was condescending and insulting asserting that the readers of Dragon and Dungeon want this information in an e-format. Did he or others ever think to ask? Like many others have said, I am sure that this message and letters to the individuals of importance will probably be deleted, trashed, or ignored....but I want to feel like I tried. If not for me, then for my nephew and my 10 y/o son and 8 y/o daughter who would always run them to me when I walked in the door after work. Such fond memories that will disappear..."like tears in the rain." An escape from the tediums and reality of work in academia, it's been hard to believe that this is really happening.

Please give me names and/or addresses (snail/email) of anyone of potential impact. As for me I do not know what I will do with Wizards or Hasbro when it comes to my wallet. I am mad but more out of despair and disappointment. My ultimate fear is that D&D will fold completely. I have cancelled my plans to attend Gen Con - it's anti-climatic now.

I miss the days of E. Gary Gygax, Bruce Arneson, etc. etc. I wish you had never left.

Thank you.

I'd like to go out on a limb and suggest that the folks at Dragon look at a regular installment of Greyhawk based articles to parallel the Eberron and FR that they have now. Considering that the game was born (excluding Blackmoor), weaned, and reared in GH, I'm saddened by the lack of attention that GH gets. Now, before everyone says "are you crazy? it's the core world? you've got years of material already? blah blah blah" I'd like to point out the simple fact of how many 3.5e hard backs do you have on shelf with the Greyhawk logo on the top? Rough estimates: FR (10) Eberron (8) GH (0)....

Being an old school D&D guy for the past 27 years, I have (and will always have) a fond association with GH and I'd like to see it developed more than simply throwing Wee Jas, Vecna, Boccob, etc. into the PHB as the core deities. I'm sure the next retort is going to be that WotC can't cover all the game worlds (FR, Eberron, DL, RL, DS, etc. etc.) but hey! if the GH deities are going to be set as the core, then why don't you develop the world around them?

Just a pitch for my favorite and fondest gaming world although Eberron is pretty sweet.

Here's hopin'....

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!

Somebody fix this website. IT IS SO SLOW!!! Where's the defibrillator? Red bull? Mountain dew? Anything???

I would be willing to pay another dollar a two an issue of Dragon and Dungeon if Paizo were to upgrade their website. Of all the websites I visit during the day, Paizo.com has got to be the slowest! What is the deal?

Of course, pbskids.org doesn't load fast either but I'm really not there too much on my own. :-

When (if when) are the Eberron conversion notes going to be posted? BTW, I appreciate everyone's input on their thoughts on converting STAP to Eberron.

Cheers,

Big D!

WotC has graciously provided posters maps for Eberron and Dragonlance, but I cannot find a Greyhawk poster map. Are there any plans for this or am I simply not looking in the right spot.

Thanks.

A question for y'all....

I'm running the STAP in Eberron with a "good" party that stormed the "Blue Nixie" and recovered the 100 pp bag from Soller Vark's cabin; however, upon returning to Lavinia they gave her back only 50 pp saying that was all they found. Not the most honorable of things to do, but I'd like to have it come back and haunt them.

I've been role-playing Lavinia as a scared, somewhat clueless NPC but after their actions I might switch her to seeing through the PCs but I'm not sure.

Any suggestions? An interesting coincidence is that the background for one of the PCs is that he's an estranged, "bastard" cousin of Lavinia and Vanthus who wasn't recognized by Lavinia until they entered the family vault. I've hinted that an inquisitor was hired to look into the murders of Lavinia's parents, so maybe I can build on that.

Thanks.

Good morning,

I have a need for a 3.5e conversion of the GDQ1-7 supermodule. Has anyone seen one lurking out there?

My beef with the conversions is that they should be provided by WotC. How can you sell a new gaming system without providing those of us who have invested so much in the older 1e and 2e modules a conversion to the new system? The parallel I see is in video games (sadly) wherein older PlayStation 1 games can still be played on PlayStation 2.

Any thoughts out there?

Thanks.

Phil -

You hit the nail on the head with Dungeon magazine, sometimes I get a little burned out on Dragon. I've just recently renewed my subscriptions to both and the new Dungeon I got yesterday was awesome! I can't wait to actually sit down and read through it page by page.

BTW, I wanted to drop you a line noticing that you are in the Madison, WI area. My family and I have recently moved here as well. In the next few weeks I will be starting up an Eberron or GH campaign and you're welcome to join!

I got my copy of the Dragon Compendium Vol 1 the other and after looking it over I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. Erik, I hope you are reading these posts to hear comments from your fan base.

When I heard of the "Dragon Compendium" I was expecting primarily material from classical issues from Dragon Magazine way back in the day and updated for the current 3.5e system. Instead, I get another huge list of races, feats, prestige classes, etc. that we get ALL THE TIME. I mean, do the editors (or whomever put this together) realize how many feats and prestige classes are already out there in the recent 3.5e literature. We have been bombarded with these, the sheer number is unbelievable. Someone in your design group should have compiled a current number of how many feats and presitge classes have been put out in Dragon Magazine, hard backs, website, etc. There must be dozens and dozens and dozens.

I was extremely discouraged with the number of articles pre-dating the 2000-2006 era. Most of these issues are easily available at the local library or by purchase on Paizo.com. The older issues, and in my opinion, the CLASSIC ISSUES were entirely under represented. The bias towards the newer articles was blatant and painfully obvious, and reading some of the posts a number of other members feel the same as I.

I feel robbed at purchasing this volume and it was a kick in the teeth for a player who's been playing D&D since 1979. What about the classic articles you read about all the time but you can never get your hands on: (i) discussions between Mordenkainen, Dalamar, and Elminster, (ii) details of Zagyg and the classic imprisonment of the nine demigods, (iii) the intricacies of the outer planes (Nine Hells, Abyss, Pandemonium, etc.), etc.

Where were all the historical articles? Where were all the classical characters reinstalled in the 3.5e system.

You totally lost me on this one and I'm not going to pre-order the next volume but rather wait this time and see how everyone feels about it. I apologize for the length of this diatribe, but I had to vent as it was brewing all night.

Sincerely yours,

I am disgruntled, disappointed, and frankly I feel cheated and betrayed... It was definitely not worth the money I paid!
