Before any of you have time to react, Ludo teleports behind S and puts a blade to her neck. "Stay back! Don't do anything foolish or she dies right now!" He runs his nose through her hair, enjoying her scent...one last time...and grabs her chin roughly. His next words are uttered dripping with menace. "So, Xa, you little minx. The double-crosser finds herself double-crossed. Now, you'll be punished by daddy Ludo for real! What shall I do first? Cut out the tongue that told me lies? Cut off the ears that listened at doors? Break the fingers that pointed out our secrets?"

"Melanie, Dex...I trust you'll take out the trash." Then to S, "Come with me darling, this will be fun!"

A blue light strobes up and down their bodies. He teleports S away.

Ludo is looking at Reeva with misgivings. "Oh dear, I think Reeva is a bit too agitated over the state of her "plaything." If you'd all kindly excuse us a moment, I must go find something to help calm her and put her nerves at ease.

He rises, takes Reeva by the shoulders and escorts her out of the room.

Your party is now almost alone in the lounge, with the exception of Lady Foxglove.

"'Laney is a sweetheart, but she insists on distressing me so."

Ludo points to La Siréene. "You look like a nice young lady. How would you like to be one of daddy Ludo's favorite? Like Xa here." He reaches over and gropes his Tian companion.

"Well, Reeva, you go through those things like tissue. Try to be more careful with it next time. But we'll get you a new one."

"It made sense to buttress our fortifications. We put up a defensive line by placing some of the lower-ranking sorcerers inside the barrier to thin out the waves of the zombies," Ludo says. "It was then that Volst..."

"We were holding a reception for our new initiate, Baron Volst, when of all surprises what would you know? Zombie invasion at the back of the mansion. All the rooms in the rear wing of the place busted into."

"Very inconsiderate, that," Ludo says. "It's getting to a point where you can't schedule a party, nowadays."

Ludo swirls his martini and takes a sip. "Is your friend in the nice hat okay? He looks pale." He bows his head slightly, and the corner of his lip curls in a mischievous grin.

"Welcome," says the older man in the high-backed chair. "I am your host, Ludo Guillemont." He motions to the blonde by his side. "This is Paige Carlisle, whom you know already." He points to the Tian woman. "This is the exotic beauty, Xa Io."

(Pronounced "Zha Eye-o.")

He gestures to the people at the bar. "Those two over there are Melanie Foxglove and Dex Satherdee." Then, recognizing Reeva, "And that fragile red-haired beauty is the incomparable Reeva Windermere."

Lord Guillemont twiddles his thumbs, delighted that you would have the pleasure of meeting him.
