little problem here: Witch is not proficient with armor, and she will not become :S EK doesn't give it

nice deal boring7...seems your solution about SWD will work very great, or almost will make the GM letting me use the Half-Orc ;)

About the build, could we build a sample so i can fastly copy it on my sheet?

does bracers of armors and magic armor bonuses stack?

the metamagic master trait only work for 3th level spell

adamantine haramaki... why?

I just don't see why i may focus on only one thing of the 2 i want to do... if you're asking this: yes, i want to do both badly instead doing only one.

So you're suggesting to go No-armored? relying only on spell for AC?

I don't think i'm moving away from my Scythe, (also because i've really short amount of time right now to decide) being the biggest threath to most builds all day long xD!

Race should be human (for campaign purposes, unknown to me) so no Scarred Witch Doctor am sorry :(

There are some differences between Warpriest and EK, here the most relevant to me:

1) Warpriest doesn't cast Fireball on enemies' faces
2) EK get a Full BAB progression (except for wiz level)

About Arcane Armor Training i've not understand what u mean by "spell-based armor substitute"...

Lets talk about numbers:

STATS
STR-18
DEX-12
CON-12
INT-16
WIS-10
CHA-7

TRAITS
Magical Knack (+2Caster LV)
Valashmai Veteran (+1 and Class Skill Perception, +1 Survival on jungle)

EQUIPMENT
-Scythe
-What about Ranged?
-Breastplate

FEATS
1-Weapon Focus[Scythe]
1F-Power Attack
1H-Combat Casting? Improved Initiative? What instead?
2W-Scribe Scrolls
3-Arcane Armor Training
4EK-Arcane Strike
5-Quicken Spell
5EK-Weapon Specialization (Scythe)
7-Arcane Armor Mastery
9-Improved Critical (if i don't have a keen scythe by now)
9EK-What here?
11-Mistery

I dont know so much about the campaign... GM let us know that's a wild AP.. i could think of Serpent Skull, Kingmaker...else?

assuming to have 4k gp, where should i invest 'em?
mithral brestplate?

Scythe provide me the trip tree...should i consider it as a viable option?

Thanks for advice... you forgot a Feat...the Human extra feat.

Re-flavor is out of discussion... GM will not allow it.

Now if i'm not wrong is better for me focusing on:
Trip
Crit
or both?

Okk then i can take the build i was making with all-people-advices adding what to? now i've access to all paizo stuff...

What am looking for is a Char who can alternate using Scythe and cast something (preferably a Fireball) right in the face of my enemies... i'll be really happy if someone could help me definite which is the best class that fit well with both things XD!

Okk, just discovered i've completely misunderstood my GM's words, while i was building a Scythe-Char basing it on few paizo stuff, while in truth i've got free access to all paizo stuff T_T!

Now, i don't know why i've been focusing on Scythe, but i still love the idea...i can call that "the only thing i'm sure about my char, is that he has a nice scythe sleeping on his shoulders".

Now, i've just started my "free-tour" being immediately attracted by the Warpriest.

I'm open to all suggestions, and i'll be glad if someone wants to share somes!

I'm in your hands people!

Point Buy is 20, level is still 1, Campaign is reach of wild(is only thing i know about)

Okk..just discovered a bad/good thing: i've misunderstood my Gm's words... i can use all Paizo stuff to create my PC -----> i definitely want to cry now!

Then, not time to loose, my char must be ready for this evening so i'll do my best (and i'll hope in someone's help) to get a useful char!

i think i should make a new post about, assuming i could change class.

ok didn't noticed that thank you so much and sorry 'bout!

I don't think that loosing 3 lvl of class progression as a good idea.
For the one round cast and the other full attack, i can easily do so using my EK...i don't see why may i prefer do that with a magus with less spells, less versatility, lower spells.

Now i'm blocked on the Armor choice... spell failure scares me a little, but right now i've seen this choices:

-Full Plate
-Breastplate

i think i can afford in mithral if i could justify that by background (one of our Teammates has a Mithral Brestplate)

Nice stuff i will surely take a read on, and obiouvsly mark as favorite..

i didn't see the "search-mode" XD is there any Eldritch Knight (Human) ?

So with Magus you could cast Fireball and then have your melee attack, that's it?

- Going with EK, which class will be my prefered one? Wizard or Fighter?
- At 12th level, when EK will finish, what should i plan to do?
going on multiclassing both Fighter and Wizard? Dip in something else?

Okk...i've finally decided for the EK... is better, no words on... get spells earlier, and also more flavourful.

@Doug interesting build, really, but as mentioned before i don't meet the "books-prerequisites" so i can't afford 'em

then i should look 'em in this way:

-Magus more melee, easily dealing with spells, restricted spells
-EK more caster, harder dealing with spells, more spells (more utility, more spells known, more versatile)

I've a question 'bout the magus: could he get melee attack + non touch spell in the same round?

interesting thread thanks...just reading it!

I've some doubts:
-Assuming to have one hand free, will i ever have the chance to Hit with my weap and cast in the same round?

-Assuming to not taking the Scythe, but taking same weapons in both Magus-Build and EK-Build, which will work better?

Oh nice! :) i saw a lot of guides "copy them 'cause they're going to be deleted" and i don't know if its normal or what...

i've also seen Professor Q's guide to the wizard, and i suspect something happened there :S

Then getting a Scythe it will result a nerfed char, is that right?

uhmmm...no wait...no way going into a Falchion or a Scimitar...i'm trying to build it with a Scythe; if i've to go with another weapon i surely go Magus + Bastard Sword.

btw reading the BB Wiz i've ended with this: Wizard probably more efficient with blasting, but a Power Words Sorcerer is surely more flavourful.. so i'm thinking of building one, even without really knowing at 100% how

@Doug: ohh someone did...but gave me the wrong link lol! thanks for that.

Thanks for advices, i'm reading 'em fast and very interested of!

@arcanine: "Sure. That's what the ability says.

awwww yeah!!! get some baby! it is time to crack some skulls and cast some spells."

i don't know why people dont read previous post, but i'm sure one day i will -> bloodrager is not allowed to me.

So then doing a 1 Fighter/1 Scryer i could go EK with a useful char?

About stats:

STR=INT > (CON or DEX first?) > WIS > CHA

STR > INT > (CON or DEX first?) > WIS > CHA

INT > STR > (CON or DEX first?) > WIS > CHA

with a fast wiew of that class i noticed:

- it assume to cast 1st-level arcane spells without preparation
- it surely waste some levels of spellcasting

now, is that even worth?

What does the DD sacrifice to do so?

btw returning on what we were saying: yes it's free to change grip, but using a spell means not using a standard action this turn, am i right?

Now i'm wondering "what about stats?"

Ok...obiouvsly fighter if i take the 1st level only dip in... that's logic xD!!!

i meant using both hands... btw doing like Badbird suggest is not a worse idea, but limit your actions on choosing if cast a spell or attack with scythe.

And the idea is still nice :) so i definitely want to build an EK...

Lets start from the bigger doubt: Straight Fighter or Archetype? Here am really on trouble.

my personal opinion is that magus is based on spell-combat... without, is pretty non-sense playing one..

already looking at it, and yes suggest nice combinations of classes, but without saying how to start and how many levels dip in to one or the other class you'll need.

btw it will not be possible make a EK wielding a Scythe, assuming to wield it all the time; so to start an EK i was thinking of Bastard Sword; but that's the only thing i know XD! Should i start Sorcerer, Wizard or Warrior? Better to take the Weapon Master Archetype?

Zolthux says: "Weapon Master: I like to think one of the advantages of the gish is that you can carry many different types of weapon on your (Crushing, piercing and bludgeoning) on top of your usual weapon. That way when you need a specific type of damage, you can cast greater magic weapon on a side weapon and get bashing/slashing/piercing. Of course, you could just cast Versatile Weapon on your main weapon and problem solved. Either way, that +1 to CMD against that weapon being sundered is not great."

But i think he had not considered all the bonuses coming from the Weapon Master

One doubt still make a noise in my mind: how much does a mith-buckler costs?

Okk nice, then i could wield my scythe, holding a mithral buckler and casting without problems?

The only way to bypass that is using this Warrior Archetype with a buckler, increasing spell failure % if i'm not wrong, does am i?

Oh no, wait! Doing so i'll get one free hand, so that allow me to spell-strike aswell, right??

okk, no it doesn't because Polearm Fighter doesn't allow nothing about, and Titan Mauler is a barbarian Archetype, and while in rage you can not cast....so :(
i may choose the EK pact

again...let me explain better, so maybe i shouldn't repeat every second the same thing XD.

Books Allowed:
- CORE RULEBOOK
- APG
- UM
- UC
- UE

now, i'm looking into a Scythe-wielder, possibly using magic too; right now Eldritch Knight seems the best option, and i'm pretty sure to want it builded Wizard-Warrior or Sorcerer-Warrior.

My questions are:
How many, and in which order, level should i dip in one or the other class?
Are there Archetypes (In books wrote above) may i consider?
Which feats fit better for what i want to do?

@Kobold: The problem persists -> is not only the magic loss (not so much a problem) but the spells choice... if i'm not wrong i should consider few spells only, those who apply in rounds, or i'm wrong?

Still going OT... i cant use Aasimar 'cause they're not a base race...

I looked at EK and seems what i was looking for... now wondering on how build one :)

uhm interesting Oracle+Warrior... half-elf i will not use that race... i was looking for human possibly.

@Kobold: also with dip...will not the PC loose too much?

interesting build... but Bloodrager isn't allowed to me... and EK from which book is?

I'm actually gave away the idea of magus... but still looking for using a Scythe, no matter which classes are involved (respecting CORE,APG,UM,UC,UE limits)...i still prefer to have some magic with me, but i'm open to every suggestions, i want my PC to work well...not being nerfed.
