Male Dwarf Rogue 2
Alright, have it all added. Bazil will store the excess items, as well as those which aren't easily broken or damaged, into one of the extra sacks so it can be easily dropped should combat break out. So it seems like we're all heading to the ruins. Ah, and here's Bazil's perception. 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Male Dwarf Rogue 2
Before they set out, Bazil will look around town for supplies. He'll buy a weeks worth of water (assuming he can afford it), as well as rations. If he can find one, he'll also look for a hammer and chisel, four vials of holy water, a two tanglefoot bags, and two burlap sack. Which of those items could he find in the town, and how much would they run him up?
Male Dwarf Rogue 2
Bazil takes another step forward as he lashes out with both weapons.
Dagger Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Male Dwarf Rogue 2
Bazil rolls out of his saddle, avoiding the whipping tentacles, and then takes a catious step forward (5 foot step, because I assume this creature has reach), taking care to avoid the writhing appendages. "Caiden's ruddy balls," he mutters as he glances to his companions, "Can no one in this country fight in the form they were born with?"
Male Dwarf Rogue 2
"Might be so, but I dropped the empty pouch in the stream, upcurrent from him. Hopefully it will float by and he'll assume he dropped it. In any case, a few coins might be picked up anywhere. Since we've ditched the pouch, the flayleaf is the only thing that might connect us to his missing fortune - we'll just have to be sure to do something with it before our return trip."
Male Dwarf Rogue 2
Bazil grins as he pockets the belt pouch, and once they are a good distance away from the man he transfers it's contents to his own purse before excusing himself for a moment. He moves back to the river (a few hundred feet away from the man with the crocodiles) and proceeds to relieve himself, though as he finishes up, he lets the now-empty belt pouch fall to the ground and casual kicks it into the current before rejoining the party. "Well, that crossing was unexpectedly profitable. Hey Bloomers, what do you know about this stuff?" He shows the flayleaf to Bas'Rac.
Male Dwarf Rogue 2
"Careful," Bazil whispers as he tucks his thumbs into his belt, hands next to his daggers. "This smells of banditry, and he's likely to have friends nearby." He narrows his eyes as his gaze moves over the sands, looking for any sign of an ambush. Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Male Dwarf Rogue 2
"Um, yeah... Let's move on..."[b] Bazil gives his camel a few kicks and a veiled threat before it begins moving forward once more, though he cannot take his eyes off the spot where the scarabs entered the sand. He edges his horse over to Setesh and gives him a soft nudge with his elbow. [b]"So exactly how much crazy happens in these deserts? I always figured that miles of sand would be a little more uneventful."
Male Dwarf Rogue 2
"I don't like it," Bazil says as he shakes his head. "If this is no punishment or warning, then it's either bait for an ambush, or a delivery. Whoever nailed that bag there was making sure it wouldn't come off - might be that it's supposed to get somewhere. But why would a rider be necessary for such a purpose? Nope, I'm thinkin' this is a trap, and that bag could well be the trigger, one way or another. I betcha five silver bits that the moment we open it some bugger or another is going to hop out of the sand and try and kill us."
Male Dwarf Rogue 2
Bazil's ruddy face blanches as he observes the propped up body. "What kind of a country is this, where one finds corpses riding in the middle of nowhere? Any of you locals have any insight into what may have set this bloke thus into the sands?" Back from Beijing. Bazil will soon be as vocal and boorish as ever.
Male Dwarf Rogue 2
Bazil is still outside. If he hears sounds of battle, he'll come forward to render aid. If someone mentions a body, he'll come in to get a closer look. Also, is this a spell or spell like ability? If it is, I believe Bazil gets a racial bonus on his save. Will Save: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (14) - 1 = 13
Male Dwarf Rogue 2
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Male Dwarf Rogue 2
"Thank ye kindly, miss," Bazil offers to Noor as he rises, grabbing his hat and replacing it upon his head. He retrieves his thrown dagger and sheathes his weapons as he stands before the travelers, tipping his hat before stuffing his fingers into his belt loops. "In our debt you say? I must say I like the sound of that. What wares do you carry with you? Bazil Stormdasher, by the way. Intrepid adventurer and professional bastard."
Male Dwarf Rogue 2
"Bloody Hells! Leggo, you beast, or I'll open up your throat!" Bazil makes a desperate swing with his rapier, trying to deter the beast from pressing it's attack. Attack from prone: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
Male Dwarf Rogue 2
"Ha! Too slow!" Bazil appears to be caught up in the moment of the battle as he sidesteps the hyena's charge. The point of his rapier plunges forward, promising a swift end for the beast, and he follows the thrust with a quick swipe of his dagger, aimed at the animal's throat. Rapier Attack Roll: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Dagger Attack Roll: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Male Dwarf Rogue 2
Sounds good to me. "Oi you lot!" comes Bazil's eloquent warcry as he throws a dagger at the nearest hyena with a wide, overhand swing. Attack Roll: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Alright, that looks like it ought to be a hit? "Ha! That's right you buggers, come on over here taste what I've got for ye!" Drawing a second dagger, Bazil takes a step back, trying to draw the beasts away from their prey. Bazil 5-foots back after using his move action to draw a dagger.
Male Dwarf Rogue 2
"B#%#$s the camels, get those mangy curs off them folk!" Bazils rolls out of his saddle with deftness that belies his stunted frame, hitting the sands in a ready crouch before springing forwards. With a flick of his wrists and a hum of steel, his weapons are in hand. He levels a slender rapier at one of the hyenas and tucks the dagger behind his back. "Off them you louts! Trundle over here and taste the steel of of Avistan!" Huh. It looks like the swear filter blocks British curses as well.
Male Dwarf Rogue 2
Bazil creases his brow in confusion as he listens to the discourse between Setesh and Noor. He listens to their banter in relative silence, casually cleaning his fingernails with a dagger and occasionally shooting a leery glance towards his camel. After the exchange is finished, he moves to Setesh. "You'll have to forgive me, but I haven't exactly had time to brush up on my Osiriani history. Who were these Four Pharaoh chaps? And what'd that stodgy desert woman mean by "her people?" Did elves used to run things 'round here?"
Male Dwarf Rogue 2
"And what do you think Lathrat expects to find there? No one makes such a fuss over first dibs on a single item unless he's got something in mind. I did a little digging on him shop the other night, and he seems to have some friends in high places - I'm guessing he trades in information as well as vice. Think there could be something in there that'd let him spy on people?"
Male Dwarf Rogue 2
Bazil grits his teeth, hangs onto his hat, and wraps a scarf around thw lower half of his face while making the occasional comment on how pleasant the heat is or how lovely the desert scenery appears. Also, I'd like to make a sense motive check against Bas'rac. Is he just trying to get us to open up so he can spy for Lathrat? Sense Motive: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Male Dwarf Rogue 2
Bazil will ride in front of the line unless someone objects. He likes to be close to the action, but won't insist on being at the vanguard of the party if someone else wants the position. He'll also volunteer for first watch. He doesn't want to have to wake up halfway through the night.
Male Dwarf Rogue 2
Bazil takes a moment to observe the camels until a glob of spit strikes him in the back, causing him to voice a surprised shout as he wipes it off, grimacing as he inspects the viscous projectile now resting on his glove. Turning around, he grabs Addawser by the reigns and gives a sharp tug, pulling the camel to eye level. For a long moment, he simply stares at the rascal, as i he's trying to psych it out. At length, he speaks.
Male Dwarf Rogue 2
Alright here we go. As far as Bazil's perceptions of Lathrat, he's pretty convinced that there's something he's not telling us, probably the value of a specific item in the vault. What he doesn't know is whether we should expect any foul play, and to that end, I'd like to roll a sense motive to see if he's likely to double cross us. EDIT: dice got weird and rolled an extra die for each "+." Going to try again.
Male Dwarf Rogue 2
"The offer of more food is certainly appreciated, Mr. Lathrat, but I haven't been in the city too long, and I'd really like to drink it before I head out into a desert for who-knows how long!" He once more tips his hat as he bows before Lathrat. "Here's to the beginning of a profitable venture for us both. I'll see you in the morning, but for now, I'm going to see what nooks and crannies of this city has to offer!" Anyone care to join me?" He gives a grin and a wink as he strides out the, offering a casual jerk of his head to indicate that he wishes to speak with the others away from the ears of Lathrat. If no one follows Bazil, he'll spend the evening canvasing the city and trying to discreetly gather information on Lathrat on this vault we're going to. He wants to see if everything matches up. I've basically finalized Bazil. Nothing major, just swapped out hit points for skill points (from his favored class) and made him a little more socially able. He's playing slightly different from the way I envisioned him, and this changes merely reflect the way he's turned out. Would you like any bluff, sense motive, or diplomacy rolls, by the way? We seem to have been operating without them so far. Bazil is dead-certain that Lathrat is after something specific in that vault, and he wants to know what it is.
Male Dwarf Rogue 2
"Yes, I think that your word should suffice. There's a certain degree of assumed understanding in the spoken word that makes it so much easier to deal with. Contracts have too many loopholes in the fine print." To the GM: Just a heads up. Reviewing Bazil's skills, I realized he makes a TERRIBLE survivalist, and that even though he's not adverse to roughing it, he's not really a wilderness type. To that end, I swapped out his ranks in Survival for ranks in Knowledge (Dungeoneering). Just let me know if that's a problem and I'll change it back.
Male Dwarf Rogue 2
One of Bazil's stumpy legs shoots out in an attempt to kick Tarrick beneath the table, though he is seated to far away to garner any success. "That would be a fine offer if this were some Andoren compromise, but we're no deposed nobles, we're adventurers, and adventurers take 65%. Plus first choice on selected items. After all, Mr. Lethrac, if profit is your chief concern, what does it matter to you what the exact nature of your swag is?"
Male Dwarf Rogue 2
Bazil's eyes go wide at the prospect of loosing rights to first salvage, and he quickly chimes in.
About Ashara LethaniBackground:
Ashara was born in Absalom but she never knew her parents. She was abandoned at a very young age as one of the many unfortunates crowding the city's orphanages.
The only link she had to her past family an handkerchief with embroidered the initials A.A. and to this day she has not stopped searching for the meaning of those letters. Ashara's first years of life were hard, as could be expected: she was a rather lonely child, keeping to herself most of the time, but sometimes confrontation with bullies was inevitable. In those cases Ashara didn't back away and instead fought fiecely to defend herself and other weaker children. In no time she built a reputation for herself as someone it was better to leave alone, especially since strange things started to happen near her, whispers, objects falling apparently on their own and the like.
Everything changed for the girl when she turned 10 and she was adopted. Lota Brigher, a pathfinder from the Silver Crusade faction had heard about a strange girl living in an Orphanage in the Puddles district and investigated the matter, founding out the rumors were accurate when reguarding Ashara. From there 10 long years of rigorous training followed and Ashara grew into a rare beauty and a splendid orator for the cause of good. Well trained and more than ready to work for the Society and the cause of good, Ahara was graduated as a full Pathfinder and set out on her own. Appearance:
Ashara is a rare beauty with lushious black hair the same colour of raven's feathers and matching deep eyes. She's tall for a woman and when not wearing her armor she favors simple but elegant dresses. Personality:
Ashara is good natured and hates people who take advantage of the weak. She likes to help people settle disputes knowing that an happy person is much less likely to do stupid or harmful things the herself or others. Ashara mantained a bit of her mishevous personality and from time to time she likes to joke and have fun PFS Information:
