Those look like solid choices - goodness knows it takes the pressure off our healers to have creatures take damage that we don't have to worry about when they poof back to their homes.

As far as Bartholomew goes, he's getting Precise Bombs so we can worry less about that inconvenient splash damage. He's also getting 2nd level extracts, though only one formula known for free unless we find some spellbooks or potions he can poach recipes from.

Speaking of which, the inventory sheet has a spellbook from a female wizard we fought in the catacombs. @GM, what spells were in it? Bartholomew can also snag see invisibility from the scroll we found and cure moderate wounds from a potion we found. This will consume the scroll, but not the potion. Is that alright with the party?

As Uvara falls, Bartholomew quickly throws another explosive at the creature before ducking back around the doorframe. "She is in very bad condition," he says plainly to Sven and Adarion.

"I don't suppose anything in here is magical?" Bartholomew asks clinically. "Given how clean the walls are, it is very unlikely the goblin tribe above made it this deep. Perhaps their unwelcomed guests were merely in search of these ruins - though that does not fully explain their provoking the attack on Sandpoint."

Bartholomew doesn’t seem to notice the wash of dark energy, though his breath catches involuntarily in his throat. Looking between his companions for a clear shot at the woman, he spits the same pale-green fluid at her. As it lands, it immediately puffs up into a hard foam that threatens to glue her to the ground.

Using adhesive spittle. Automatically hits and entangles the target, but if she makes a Reflex 15 saving throw she is not glued to the ground. Otherwise, the spell functions identically to a tanglefoot bag (including scraping the foam off, breaking out, and 2d4 rounds of duration).

Bartholomew watches with interest as Nyx staggers to his feet. "Fascinating..." Eyes snapping over to the ongoing battle, the chemist pulls out a small bottle of pale green liquid and swallows it.

Drinking an extract of adhesive spittle - can't do anything with it this round unfortunately since it's a standard action to spit.

Hearing a door open behind him, Bartholomew turns around to see the strange woman with an even stranger arm. Fascinating... he thinks, then frowns when he spots Nyx's still form on the ground. Ah, that's why it got so quiet. Stepping towards the priest, he grabs Nyx by the arm and drags him around behind him.

5 ft step and Reposition combat maneuver, putting Nyx on the other side of Bartholomew in the short hallway. As Bartholomew does not have the Greater Reposition feat, the action should not provoke an Attack of Opportunity against Nyx.

The trick would be getting the bomb thrown without hitting any allies, but also not being out in the open for all the nice doggies to ruthlessly murder immediately after that.

If he goes in there, he's much more likely to die and it will be more expensive to restore him to useful condition, he muses pragmatically. And this stalemate is not improving very quickly. With a shrug, the scientist gulps down a bottle of clear liquid before pushing past Nyx, Sven, Uvara, and Naeselhorn to reach the far side of the chamber.

With Sven and his companion in such a rush to get to the front, Bartholomew sighs and puts the small glass bottle back onto his pouch. He pulls out his sling and finds a piece of garbage from the floor that seems particularly heavy, placing it in the leather cup and giving it an experimental whirl.

That's because Bartholomew doesn't know that he's a tiefling and thinks he's just human. He just assumes that he can see in the dark because he has superior senses and most anybody could do it if they tried. Poor sheltered boy - perhaps he'll learn someday (especially with another tiefling in the party).
