Ya it definitely helps. With the number of feats we get, I was looking at the dimensional door feat chain, so I can eventually flank with myself.

In the short term though, I'm really enjoying the grapple - blood sucking angle. Thematically cool and CON damage is pretty strong. Of course, less useful when dealing with constructs...
