Actually, I saw Bunny and Hooty in someone else's signature over on Barrok's Towers. I didn't start it, but I did jump on board the Bunny and Hooty Express Train to World Domination!

I knew that he was invisible before, but I was assuming that she would recognize his aura. He caused a lot of trouble around the Eyrie before the last battle.

I remember making LJ more determined last time I visited. So one could say my trouble making helped. :p

"You are right, my love," she says with a tender smile. "Sometimes my new responsibilities weigh heavily on me. I am glad you are here to remind me what is important."

She turns back to Barbas. "I believe I must refuse your offer at this time, Barbas. The risk is too great."

Barbas bows.

"Should any wish to try the Trial, simple call and I shall arrive. Till next time."
Even as he says this, he fades from view.

"I don't like this guy. He was at a bunch of our previous battles, and he wasn't on our side."

"I admit it, I wasn't exactly as restrained as I should have been. I'd been trapped by a troublesome kobold in the Realms of Dream, and I was starving. I apoligize for each incident. As an act of sincererity, have someone else try the test. If a mortal can do it, you should have no problem dear Starsong,"

And the fact he was posted as unseeable back then seems to have been lost... *sigh* Oh well.

lynora-Jill wrote:
"If I lose? Or is there a different outcome that would have an adverse effect?"

"If you lose. Fighting yourself is not a battle you want to lose, Starsong. If you lose, god or not, you die. Any how wish to take the Trial of Fear, will be made to understand everything I have told you, down to the smallest detail."

And I'm off for now. I may be on later.

She frowns. "Do you mean that you would have to face it in an illusory manner or that it would actually happen? Because if it's the second, then I have to pass. My deepest, darkest fear coming really true would cause too much harm to others."

"I said you would face your own fear. For you and only you, it would be real. And it would literally take no time at all, except in your mind. Let me try to explain it a different way. In order to become stronger, you must be able to defeat your own mind. You must be willingly to go to war with your very essence. As a bonus, once your fight is over only one outcome would have an adverse effect to those you know."

She looks startled. "Yes, I remember you. You were there before the battle when I..." she took a deep breath. "You came through the Eyrie before the battle when I died. What assistance is it that you speak of, Barbas?"

He smiles.

"I can bring about a... increase in power for any who wish it. There is, of course, a price. In order to become stronger in this way, one must face their deepest, darkest fear."

And since this alias is currently appearing as Richard... FOR PONY!!!

Every few moments, the shadow-clad figure seems to laugh. Then, as if sensing LJ's observations, slowly looks up at her. Becoming pure darkness, it slides toward her, slipping around the unknowing children. Before it reaches her a man raises from the dark.

"Hello again, Starsong. You may not remember our last meeting, and you should know I am here to offer assistance, except for a sudden outbreak of nightmares and a surge of fear. Allow me to formally introduce myself. I am Barbas, the Demon of Fear."

Drawn by the massive amount of fear that had recently emanated from the Carnival, Barbas floats about unseen, snacking on the lingering fear of those dead and feasting upoun the fear of those still alive within the dragon.

A whisper floats past Esmerelda.

"You couldn't keep me in that Realm forever, Essie. And I've only grown in power since then..."

Yes, time to try out my demon again!

Unnoticed by all, a cloak figure floats eeriely over the vines. Slowly fear slides from him, working into the minds of animals and allies of the Green. Fear of Fire courses through their bodies as images of charred bodies fill their minds. A laugh no one can hear echoes throughout the hills for miles as the cloaked figure fades from the area.

I'm finally going to try out my demon...

Unseen and undetected by the wards, a cloaked figure floats silently in the Eyrie. It notices LJ talking to some of the Eyrie's inhabitants and floats slowly to her. When it is close enough, it lays a hand unnoticed on her shoulder. LJ begins to fear what will happen to all who live in the Eyrie if she dies. She fears for the lives of those she knows and loves. She is fears for JH because she hasn't seen or heard from him n a while. But, strangely, she fears for her own life. With so musch fear to feeds off of, the cloaked figure releases a luagh nobody hears. As it leaves the Eyrie, several of the young ones within the Eyrie who sleep begin to nightmares of their own worst fears coming to life.
