The New Defenders
The Fearless Four
Defenders United
The City Watch (or The Watch)
Maximum City Sentinels
I'm actually kind of partial to The Watch cause it's short and simple.
Well, glad to see the transmitters work. Ellie, should we go catch up with the others?
Wonder if I can triangulate their signal to get a fix on their location...

Ithran:
Hey buddy, you've been kind of quiet since we ran into Tempest; you alright? I kinda miss your condescending remarks. Also, I had a question for you. That super-jump thing you let me do, I think I did it again outside the museum when I charged at Deathmask. Is that a permanent thing? Can I fly with that?

I stay with Ellie. If Joe and Emit have things covered, I can get some research of my own done.
No use staying in costume at the moment.
First things first, I want to take a look at Emit's work in the other room and see if I can't borrow some tools from Robocorp to help him out.
Technology:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
After that, I want to do some poking around online and see what I can find about what's made Anvil Corp stock jump, see if I can't hack into their system and find something interesting.

While poking around online I notice that the MegaMillionz lottery is up to 264 Million by this point.
Finally, after doing that research, I'll head over to the Twilight Revenance church and wander in to see what they're preaching about. I'm always skeptical about that kind of nonsense.

Baker smiles to himself.
Well then it looks like I'm just darn lucky, because I personally did go toe to toe with Death Mask and I'll tell you, with that unnerving grin and all of that poison the man packs a wallop and is a lot to take on... I'll take what you've said about vigilantism to heart, and I appreciate you looking into everything. If I find anything else out, I would like to not have to go through the same red tape I had to this time. Is there a way that I could contact you personally should I find anything that would help your search? I realize that Death Mask is a big-name thug and I really don't want to tango with him again unless I have some serious backup...

--I've been looking to talk to someone with more experience in the hero department than I've got, and your secretary was kind enough to transfer me to you. I wanted to ask if the GoE knew of the incidents at the Sphinxonium these past few days. Two different Supers, Death Mask and Doctor Oz, as well as the Knights of Revelation all converged there at around the same time on the same day. It struck me as a bit odd that our local super group wasn't there given the attention that these groups were giving the museum. I and a couple of other of my fellow B-list supers managed to handle it with some difficulty, but I just wondered if the GoE was aware of the situation.
Also, given that I have my re-test for the GoE in two weeks, I was wondering if you have any pointers on what I could do to do as best as possible. I scored a 120% last time, but they said that was a software fluke; so I'm not sure if I've got what it takes or not and I thought you could give me a tip or two, being a near lifetime member of the GoE.

Making a set of stylish communicators shouldn't be too difficult. I call in a favor from a friend in R&D who is able to run my designs through their prototype fabricator relatively quickly in exchange for a digital copy of the most recent season of the popular TV show "Survivor, Las Vegas."
They fit snugly over one ear and will transmit and receive up to a mile away at a simple mental nudge.
At lunch, I call the number I have to contact the Guardians of Earth, making sure to take necessary precautions to restrict my phone access, To see who I can talk to. I give them my confirmation number to schedule a re-test and let them know that I have the number of a very good IT specialist who would have no problem taking a look at their software to fix any bugs in the system if they need it. After that, I ask to be transferred to someone I can talk to about the museum incident.
(While waiting on hold I accept Tex's invite on Splatbook and send a PM to Marissa:
Hey Marissa, sorry to hear about you not being able to go to your concert... that really bites. Looks like we've all been kind of unlucky lately. Maybe you and I could see if there was something else playing on a different day to go to?
Male Human [0x Bruises] IT System Administrator (2hp/9Lp) 1ppt 0ep
Also, if we're going to be a team, we'll need a better means of communication. I think I have something that will work. I'll keep you all posted about that. I'll cover the cost of the comms with my limited EP
Male Human [0x Bruises] IT System Administrator (2hp/9Lp) 1ppt 0ep
Ok, i'll see what I can dig up in the next few days. Professor Nile, any idea how long it will take you to have this base idea up and running? Besides, I've got a regular job an all that'll keep me busy for a few days.
Male Human [0x Bruises] IT System Administrator (2hp/9Lp) 1ppt 0ep
Ok, now that we've got that all settled, we have some things to consider.
Baker looks to the group and pulls out his PDS and activates the mini-holo; a useful tool for showing overly complex tech procedures to a non-tech savvy clientele. Baker pulls up a notepad file on the holo and starts ticking off items to the group.
I've been writing down some questions I've had about this whole occurrence that I think we really need to look at. First off, Why take the Eye? I agree with Emit that it is highly coincidental that three different supers would all make an attempt on the museum at the same night at the same time. What's so special about the eye? We need to know more than what we've been told so far; maybe Archy at the museum or Mrs. Madelyn knows more. Furthermore, what do we know about the man who took it and what did Death Mask want with it? Was he just a hired gun, or did he have a personal stake in it? That and i'm sure we haven't seen the last of him, he got away last time...
Baker frowns at the memory.
Another thing I would really like to know too is why did none of the major supers show up? Maximum Silver and the others. Was this just a small-time job, or did they not know or even care? I'll do some digging on that one, I have someone I can talk to who may know more.
Baker looks around.
Those are my major thoughts and concerns. Anyone have an leads, answers, ideas, or things they would like to share that I can add to the list?
Male Human [0x Bruises] IT System Administrator (2hp/9Lp) 1ppt 0ep
No reason to sit around costumed up for longer than necessary. I push my luck on a regular basis as it is.
Baker looks back at Joe.
Is that enough to convince you, Mr. Fankenburg? And you may not go seeking trouble, but I find, as I'm sure you do, people of our disposition tend to have that sort of trouble find them. I asked you all here because I believe that working together will help us both in the hassle of our normal lives and also to put four minds on the questions of the museum and the trouble caused there, rather than work separately.
Male Human [0x Bruises] IT System Administrator (2hp/9Lp) 1ppt 0ep
You got your facts straight, Mr. Nile, Risen Fate is my other half. I can tell you that story some other time though. For now, suffice it to say that I am most certainly in.
Male Human [0x Bruises] IT System Administrator (2hp/9Lp) 1ppt 0ep
Mr. Nile, to ease your concern, Ron there in back is an old friend of mine. A good one. He'll keep to himself and he's shut down the shop a bit early so we can have a bit of a private meeting. Seeing as it is my choice of location, I hope you don't mind me taking a bit of a lead on our conversation. As for why I've asked you all here, I've noticed you all have some innate...let's say interesting talents; me included, that I would like to discuss. But first---
Baker heads over to shut the late-day sun shades.
---I've brought you here because I hope I can trust you.
Baker looks at Emit.
Mr. Nile, while I know realize there is no love lost between us, however, I've seen what you can do, I understand why you do it, and I respect you for it.
Looking to Joe.
Mr. Fankenburg, all I know about you is that you would put yourself in harms way to protect others and that you seem to be a devout man of God. I have trusted you with my life once before and you trusted me with your secret. Mr. Fankenburg, I will do so again.
Looking to Ellie.
You're different than these two. I know nothing about you other than what I saw you do before handing you my card and would like to know a little bit more about your personal character before I proceed. If it helps, I'll tell you a bit about myself first.
He pulls up a chair to face the group and sits down backwards on it.
I'm from a ways up state and came down to Maximum city because I'd heard that being an IT specialist down here would pay well especially if I could land a job at Anvil Industries or Robocorp. Luckily my grades were good enough and I had a knack for getting the job done right first try. Anvil wanted to hire me, but Robocorp offered better incentives. I moved in, started work and have been working the IT gig for a few years now. Works good, but it's hard making a difference in the world when you're always behind the scenes. I want to change things, you know? Stand for something. Make my parents more proud than by just being a code monkey for the rest of my life. I was hoping that Robocorp could help me there, but things have kind of stagnated in that regard. I want to be someone, to not being boring old Baker. I want to be noticed, to make a name for myself, to prove that he I am just as good or better than those around me... but it's been a hard climb.
Baker sits back.
I want to hear about you, Ellie, before I share more.
He looks at the others.
And I expect to hear some from you both as well. I want to see if what I know is or isn't the whole story.

I'm going to see if there's any left over bits and spare parts that the techs may have broken or discarded. A lot of the time they get rid of something simply because one of the pieces of it doesn't work quite how they want it, but it's cheaper to just scrap it and design a new part. I'll check around RD-101 and RD-105 since I don't have a whole lot of time during lunch, and see if I can't piece together more of what they were working with in 105.
Fast Forward. (i suppose I'll be playing this in two parts for now until the RD section is done, then I can concentrate solely on our meeting at Ron's Donuts
Baker walks into the doughnut shop ten minutes early to make sure everything is set for their meeting.
Hey Ron! Glad the espresso machine is still chirping away happily, you do make one mean cup, and I'd hate for you to give up the title of "Best Cup of Espresso" to those guys down the block.
He sips on the cup gingerly, enjoying the delicious chocolate, vanilla and coffee flavors.
No, I haven't asked her out yet. Girls are tricky, you know? One minute you think you have them figured out, and the next they're going for the guy with the shiny-er holo-projector. I don't know what to do with her, it's like I'm invisible! I can't catch any kind of lucky break with her!
Baker walks with Ron to the corner booth.
Thanks again for letting us use your shop as a meeting place. You've got the best gossip in town. Anything new I should know about? I've got a few minutes before anyone gets---
Baker is cut off by Emit walking through the door.
Uh... guess my watch is slow. I'll catch up with you after our meeting Ron. Could we get a round of donuts and caps? And please make sure one of them is kosher please. I've got a friend coming who follows that stuff.
Hey Emit, booth is this way.
Baker points him over and waits for the rest to arrive, while continuing to chat with Ron.

I can agree to that change, it makes skill points put into things like my profession more beneficial. And on that note, I think I will reroll. reroll with luck:1d20 ⇒ 18 + 7 = 25 Much better. So that's a +4EP and an additional +1EP for covering for Lorenzo?
Baker reads his inbox news feed.
Koala-man? Well, I guess that's no worse than the Man-bat of a few years ago... Supers are taking some strange new ideas now a days...
Glad none of us got busted for that Sphinxosium stuff, that could have been bad! Oh, and it looks like the PowerMillions Jackpot is up to $60million, guess no one won it last night.
Baker smiles to himself with the thought of what he could do with all that money.
I think i'll take my lunch break to head down to R&D and see what those guys have been cooking up lately.
Baker grabs his lunch and heads for the elevators.
John, I'll handle building the comms devices, you spend your points on something fun :)
Male Human [0x Bruises] IT System Administrator (2hp/9Lp) 1ppt 0ep
Glad you also thought about the ear-phones, I had the idea but didn't post soon enough XD
After sleeping like the dead, Baker wakes up and takes some pain meds to fight off the hangover like symptoms of getting his butt handed to him, and heads to his regularly scheduled shift.
At lunch he sends out a mass text to Emit, Joe and Elli's phones:
This is Baker Scott. Meet me at Ron's Donuts at 4pm, we've got some things to discuss. Ask Ron for the private room, he'll be expecting you.
and then calls Ron to borrow the back room of the doughnut shop for an after work "business meeting." Seeing as this isn't the first time Baker has used it, and he always pays well for his doughnuts, Ron agrees.
Man, if we're even considering being a team, we need some sort of communicators... cell phones don't cut it and can be traced... wonder if I can borrow the R&D department on a late night to work on something... I'll bring it up at the meeting.

After seeing that Marissa is coming to and doesn't seem to have anything noticeably wrong, Baker quickly makes his way over to Elli.
In a whisper: Hey, some crazy stuff has been happening today and by the look of what you were doing with your hand, it seems you've been drawn into it.
Baker pulls out two copies of his card and a pen,
Here, take this-- and hands one of the cards to Elli to keep.
--and write your number on this one. He hands her the second card and the pen.
I'll be in touch, I have some things I'd like to talk to you about and I have some other people who might be interested as well.

Joe and Emit, in case you missed it, I got ahold of Joe on cell phone while you were getting to the final room. Each of you block off a door leading back into the museum, Doors to rooms 8 and 10, that way the only door left is the one leading outside. A quick call to Emit,

Baker changes into Risen Fate, opens the loading dock door and flies out to the "Fire Exit?" door on the side of the last room in the exhibit, waiting to take down any of the goons (specifically D.Mask) that come out the door.
Male Human [0x Bruises] IT System Administrator (2hp/9Lp) 1ppt 0ep
Having access to the cameras, and knowing which guard D.Mask was masquerading as, can I see if I have a good picture of his face? Further more, does the museum keep contact information on each (or most) of its guests (especially for an event such as this), so that I could feasibly find that database and access all of their phone numbers and assume they have the capability to receive picture messages? And finally, can my PDS access the general alarm to the building and/or the fire alarm?

Background:
Jesset remembers the day the slavers decended upon his family's settlement as a haze of smoke and fire and screams. Taken in the dark
and bound, the litorian youth seethed at the injustice and powerlessness he was experiencing. Trussed up and unceremoniously deposited in the
back of a wagon, then the stinking hold of a sailing vessel, Jesset's first memories of Ptolus was the soft thud as the ship bumped against
a dock, hidden deep in a cave under the cliffs of Ptolus. Pulled into the blinding light of torches, he was introduced to his new master, Btuss,
a huge half-orc with scars all over his body. Quickly , Jesset learned he was to train, become a fighter in the underground pit fights and die
for the profit of his owners. However, Jesset did not die. He learnt all of Btuss' lessons, killing with abandon, his fury fuelling his natural
abilities. One day he was awaiting his next opponent and a great tumult erupted from the legion of spectators. A great host of shining warriors
crashed into the unsuspecting audience, a pitched battle that fell down into the pit. Fighting for his life, Jesset was struck senseless and fell,
buried under countless bodies.
When he awoke, it was in a soft cot, a room , soft light, incense that caused his muzzle to wrinkle, but was not unpleasant.
His many wounds were tended by a gentle human, one Keveik, a priest of Lothian. With calm words and gentle movements, the man
brought Jesset back from the brink of death. As he did , he taught, through deed and word of the glory of Lothian and the role his servant could
make in the world. His own culture stolen from him, Jesset grasped the lifeline that Keveik offered him.
As his health improved, Jesset began to excercise in the enclosed yard, showing his martial prowess. He knew the priests were studying him,
trying to see how best he could serve Lothian. Eventurally, Keveik approached the litorian on day and offered him a place in the ranks of
Lothian's inquisitors - an opportunity to harness his anger in the service of the greater good and strike down the enemies of good .
Jesset jumped at the opportunity, excelling in the training, despite being the only litorian to be so trained. His initial success led his superiors
to allow Jesset a bit more latitude in how he went about his mandate; allowing his natural prowling instincts to uncover unsavoury activities.
Appearance:
Most litorian are leonine in appearance, but Jesset's lineage ran more towards a tiger-ish appearance. Fur of grey-blue, Jesset strikes an impresive
figure as he stalks his prey. Equipment serviceable, no flash, no glimmer of vanity, just seriously business-like.
Personality:
Jesset burns with the injustice of his early life, but glad now to have purpose. Bereft of his traditional culture, he embraces the Lothian faith
wholeheartily. He does have contact with other litorians, he is civil and polite to them, but rebuffs overtures that would include him in anything
that would re-integrate him into the litorian culture.
