No posts. Organized Play character for UpSbLiViOn.

Hello,

I have been away for a couple years from Pathfinder society. I have 2 characters made up and registered from 2014. One of the characters was an Assimar Cleric (Merciful Healer) of Pharasma. I played the character in 1 or 2 scenario's and then had alot of real life problems get in the way of me playing him again. I just went to play him recently in a game and the GM said he is not legal anymore because Assimar are not a playable race unless you get a Boon? Is that correct? Anyway here is my character to see if maybe it was some other problem the GM had and not the Race.

Would a Merciful Healer be well recieved in a PFS game or is such a focused healer not necessary? I understand all i would be able to do is heal, thats the point. Most games I play I take the role of healer because its fun to me.

I am thinking about playing in an online game because for various reasons I cant get into a game locally. I think its time for me to try the Pathfinder Society online play and have had a character I have wanted to play for a longtime. The problem is he uses a Falcata and shield (sword and board archetype) which would require the exotic weapon proficiency feat which would delay the build painfully since I hope to take improved shield bash, saving shield and two weapon fighting at level 1. Are there any legal ways, such as a trait, that would allow me to use a Falcata without taking the feat?

I realize this might be foolish but I just have the image of this character stuck in my head and would hate to deviate.

Thank you in advance

Ok over the holidays all the sales convinced me to buy something I wanted to buy for a while, The Midgard Campaign Setting, and many of the associated material. So far I am enjoying it alot but I have a player who wants to play an Elf who is a specialist in the school of Illumination magic. We found where it mentions the special abilities a specialist gets and it says spells with the Star and Shadow descriptor fall under the Illumination heading. I think shadow spells exist in pathfinder but where do I find Star? Also for my benefit IF I am wrong and Shadow isnt easily found in the Pathfinder books where do I find them as well.

SO in short where do I find spells with the Star or Shadow descriptor for the Midgard Campaign Setting?

Thanks in advance, my player will be very happy to have this information.

I LOVE the concept of the Cad Archetype for Fighter but me and my group have talked and talked about this and we find it hard to make it viable in a game and not have it just get killed after it tries to throw dirt in someone's face or something along those lines. The Dirty tricks just seem weak and doing one in place of an attack opens yourself up to probably ending up very dead. Has anyone played a Cad in a game and had it survive and actually flourish? what type of game was it (Ex Low powered city game with minimal combat)?

Anyway, Look forward to hearing opinions. Thank you!

Hello,

I am taking on a rather large task. I am planning a gritty Zombie horror game using the Reflex system (Twilight 2013). Players will be attempting to safely make their way across the United States and not get killed by any number of dangers the least of which will be of course Zombies. Most of the game is coming along wonderfully but I am having trouble finding a detailed enough map of the United states with a Hex grid over it. Does anyone have one of these or can recommend where I can find one?

Anyway looking forward to hopefully some help in this area because I am very stuck. Without the map I cant plan things for our groups desperate trek across the US.

I have a friend who has created a first level Priest of Aroden and has a great idea about how to roleplay the loss of his god etc. He wants to brainstorm with me about his characters future and would love to make one of his characters long term goals be focused around discovering what happened to Aroden and as such would love to take the Celestial Disciple PrC part of the hole growth process. Problem is it's 3.5 and taking a look at how Dragon Disciple was converted I was hoping one of the masters of conversion might have already done this or can help me out.

Any idea how to bring the Celestial Disciple into the Pathfinder Age?

Sorry if this is a bit hastily written. I am just psyched at how enthusiastic my player is! Any help is much appreciated!

I am on vacation and am in Syracuse NY for the next few days. Can anyone suggest any good gaming stores to check out? Friendly people, games being run etc?

I swear I was reading one of the hundreds of books I have one day and there was a optional system where by players could earn faction of sorts(Favor or Disfavor) with npc's or power groups etc in a 3.x system. Might have been a pathfinder book or some other but I know I saw it. Does anyone by chance remember what book it was in or if not can you suggest a good system to use for what I am looking for?

Hello,

I am hoping someone out there in Paizoland has extended out the Racial Paragon rules in Unearthed Arcana to 10 or more levels. If no one has accomplished this maybe someone can give me a good idea how to logically do what I am looking to do. I am terrible with the crunchy parts of a game system so I hope someone can help me out!

I have a regular gaming group but do to peoples schedule I end up running solo sessions and at times games for quite sometime before we can all meet again. Solo games tend to exact a high toll on me in terms of preparation and other management issues do to not having a full group.

What Id like to know is how do you handle solo games and one of my key curiosities is encounter design. I think in the -PFRGP- core book it says less then 3 people subtract one from the Encounter level or whatever the exact wording is but it doesn't suggest how to go about designing a game for a solo character. Till now I just wing it and hope the player survives the encounter and so far that has worked but Id like to just be able to design an encounter the easier, standard way by building it like any I would for a full group.

Anyway, thanks for any advice you might give. Id love to hear how you handle solo games not just encounter design.

I am not sure where to ask this and when I did a search it didn't pull up any threads so here I am.

Has anyone done a conversion of the Crusader from the Tome of Battle?

I have a player wanting to play one and Id really like to have a Pathfinder version or atleast one as close to the pathfinder system as possible.

Thanks in advance.

Are any of the adventure paths, modules or other similar material Dwarf Focused? I have a friend looking for an adventure with a heavy dwarf theme and I said I would ask around. SO HERE I AM ASKING AROUND =o)

I have been running D&D of the 3.x variety since it came out but I humbly must admit no one has ever use a prestige class for various reasons. So that leads me for the first time in over 10 years with the chance to play the game actually instead of DMing it with questions about how PrC's work. Ill be specific in hopes of not wasting anyone's time.

First question and at the moment the most important is Attack bonuses specifically Base Attack Bonuses.

I am making a Fighter 7/Divine Champion 2. The Fighter(Pathfinder Version) has a BaB of +7/+2 and the Divine champion at level 2 has a +2 according to the Forgotten realms players guide(Yes I am mixing two systems). Does the combined 9th level character have an BaB of +9/+4 or +9/+2 or something completely different?

Again sorry for such a n00b question but PrC's thought they are cool none of my players have used them for whatever reason.

I am curious if anyone has come up with Pathfinder RPG Rules for the Fantasy Grounds Virtual Tabletop?

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this but I am soo wanting to run PFRPG through fantasy grounds so had to take a stab!

I was looking through a friends copy of Classic Horrors Revisited and under the Dhampir heading it says it can be found in The Pathfinder RPG Bestiary II. Uhh I only am aware of one bestiary at this time for Pathfinder. Could someone enlighten me as to what they mean?

Thanks,
UpS

Okay, I'm a bit confused on the Challenge rating rules. Everything made sense until they show an example:

Quote:
For example, let’s say you want your group of six 8th-level PCs to face a challenging encounter against a group of gargoyles (each CR 4) and their stone giant boss (CR 8). The PCs have an APL of 9, and table 12–1 tells you that a challenging encounter for your APL 9 group is a CR 10 encounter—worth 9,600 XP according to Table 12–2. At CR 8, the stone giant is worth 4,800 XP, leaving you with another 4,800 points in your XP budget for the gargoyles. Gargoyles are CR 4 each, and thus worth 1,200 XP apiece, meaning that the encounter can support four gargoyles in its XP budget. You could further refine the encounter by including only three gargoyles, leaving you with 1,200 XP to spend on a trio of Small earth elemental servants (at CR 1, each is worth 400 XP) to further aid the stone giant.

Okay, shouldn't that many monsters massively increase the CR of the encounter? Or do you average the CR of the monsters so that the CR in this example would be 9, but match the xp budget for a CR 10. The elementals averaged with three gargoyles and the giant seems to support this also. Isn't it a CR9 encounter then with too much xp?

I downloaded my copy of the beta PDF about 9 months ago(give or take) and am curious about something. I am about to make some characters for a few friends so we can play a quick game this coming weekend and am wondering if the Beta PDF get's updated with any errata or rules changes? I guess what I am asking in a nutshell is should I download a new copy since it has been so long?

If any changes occur then to me the answer is yes. So I am looking for some feedback/Input.

Thank you,
UpS
