I think I got those, Liara. I was at -11/15, and then rage ended and I dropped to -13/13. You lose from both current and maximum HP when rage ends. As the positive energy washes over him, Korvin's wounds stop bleeding onto the riverbank, although they are still raw and gaping open as he lays there motionless.

Acrobatics: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (1) - 2 = -1 I miss strength-based jump checks
Korvin, disdaining the log, makes his way through the brush and takes a run at the river. He launches himself into the air to try and leap it, but his foot slips on the muddy bank and he ends up stumbling into the stream instead of soaring over it. Undeterred, he half-walks-half-swims his way to the other side and pulls himself out. I'm not sure how far I can get. I'm jumping from the spot next to where Azura is right now, which is 40' of movement, but I'm double moving so I don't know how far I get on the other side of the stream (with another 40')

Save the wand charge - I've got the CLW potion from earlier. I can chug that. CLW potion: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 Well, that was rather ineffective. Up to 9/13. I'll drink the barkskin potion, too. Korvin rushes out of the cave, with the speed of the wild men of the tundra. Pulling out first the almond-flavored potion then the woody-flavored one, he drinks them both as he runs.

And just after the "edit hour" is up, I notice that cuatroespada didn't actually roll the save. Oops. Fort: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22 Disregard the previous post. Korvin feels the numbing of the ooze wash over him, but powers through it with a growl. He slams a mattock down on his attacker, pointy bit digging into its goo. Attack (power attack, rage, bardsong): 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 6 + 1 = 16

One last attack...: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 6 + 1 = 25 Perhaps inspired by Elise's words, Korvin slams his mattock into a zombie from underneath in an upwards swing, sending it flying back... or it would if waves of holy light weren't already turning it to dust as the weapon passed through it's decayed flesh. The big man stands there blinking in surprise and catching his breath, while he looks around for more foes.

Korvin moves up next to Taro, mattock in hand. He takes a step or two forward from there, as if to charge through the bottleneck, but checks himself. Instead, he yells out in Skald, "Kom og hent oss, råtten seg!" and readies himself to attack the first one that comes in reach. Readied attack (PA): 1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (1) + 5 - 1 = 5

Korvin replies to the criticism with a shrug. "I guess it doesn't matter, since he didn't understand me anyway." Instead, he motions to get the gillman's attention, then makes a grab for a fish. Unarmed: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10 He then motions towards the creature, and the water, then shrugs and tries to look helpless as he spreads his hands.

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
----- Perception: 1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 4 - 2 = 17

In the back of my mind, Korvin is saying that he really wants to take on the minotaur... But I know that if I didn't roll a 20 (which would make it explode), its counterattack would kill me, so Korvin's getting overruled. As the minotaur emerges from the woods, Korvin grabs a mattock off his back and prepares to charge forwards towards it, but stops after a single step as the backpack goes flying past him and the halfling's words register. Instead of charging forward, he hurls the mattock towards the beast with a wordless shout of frustration, and turns to duck into the cave. Improvised thrown weapon: 1d20 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 1 - 4 = 13 Subtract -2 for each 10' away it is. I'm almost certainly going to miss. Inside the cave, he pauses to let his eyes adjust to the much dimmer magical light, then peers around. Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18

Fortitude (while raging): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12 Korvin scraps the last few snakes off of him, stomping on them as they hit the ground. He seems to enjoy the crunching sound, or maybe it's just the feeling of not having snakes coiling on him any more. Accepting the potions and healing from the halfling, he slips them into his belt pouch and thanks her. "I'm sure if I have time for them, they will prove quite useful." Survival: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23 "Onwards!" If I don't use up the potions, they still don't automatically stay with me to the next module, right?
Human (Ulfen) Bloodrager 1
I'm back. Sorry for the delay - especially with that initiative roll. As the snakes turn to orient on him and his companions, Korvin grabs one of the numerous mattocks adorning his body and charges at them. He appears to be... hissing(?) at them as he does. Bloodraging, charging (if I can), power attacking Attack: 1d20 + 7 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (4) + 7 + 2 - 1 = 12
AC is 11 until next round

"I'm just here for the adventure of it all," the northman contributes. To the chilly Liara, he offers an an appraising look and a chuckle. "If you think this is bad, never visit the northern kingdoms. This would be a gentle summer breeze, there. Still, you are welcome to whatever portions of my blanket you need to warm yourself."
Human (Ulfen) Bloodrager 1
The big man broadens his shoulders as he grins at Liara. "Have no fear. I will stand between you and the minotaurs." This boast would probably be more impressive, except he promptly sits back down on his chair and picks up his mug. "So now let us drink and plan this expedition!"

Ya'll post fast. I can do once, sometimes twice a day, so please take no offense if I don't respond to everything. Korvin looks around at the three attractive women (and the halfling) who will be accompanying him on this mission, two of which are hiding from each other on either side of him, then tilts his head to the side. "This ought to be interesting," he says with a tilted smile. To the halfling's information he replies (with a more normal head orientation), "The tide is especially high when the moon is full. Maybe it just brings more water in for them? They do use gills, after all."
Human (Ulfen) Bloodrager 1
Korvin took a seat backwards on a chair soon after entering, so as to get his head further from the ceiling. Even seated, he towers over their halfling guide once she is introduced. "Greetings yourself, Janira. How big are these caves? Unless you were standing on your own shoulders, I don't know if I can fit where you went. And you would have had feet in your face." He nods to himself, as if that meant something. He doesn't initially make any comments aloud to his fellow initiates, but he does wonder in his own mind about Azura's "glow" when she's clearly not on fire. He is willing to be pulled out of his chair by the beautiful woman, although he hunches a bit. "I'm Korvin." he says as he moves.

You both found great avatars to match your artwork! Korvin is a tall, hulking Ulfen, with the typical pale coloring of his race. However, there just seems to be something slightly... off about him in some way. Maybe it's the five mattocks strapped to his body in various locations. Edit: Just realized you can't wear a barbed vest over medium armor. Sad.

Liara Vashj wrote: @ Korvin that is a rather interesting build lol hope you don't blow thru all of your weapons lol (then again that may be a good thing lol) There's a reason he's CN and abberation-blooded. He's got a very bizarre outlook on things. Hence the unusual choice of weaponry. On the other hand, if he rolls a 20, things explode. I don't actually know if I even intend on playing him past first or second level. The need for magical weapons kindof breaks him, because it will get expensive quickly to keep stocking and repairing them. Edit: I also expect to be buying a wand of mending ASAP... |
