Sadly, I'm going to back out from the game. Past the first round of fighting, I've not contributed much. With the emotional issues that I'm going through currently, I think that I put too much on my plate as my anxiety shifted to focus on something else (gaming, sadly).

I'm sorry to get into a game and then have to drop it. My apologies to everyone. I wish everyone a great game.

Still following. Arash is mostly staying alert and trying to keep an eye out on things for the moment. He's stealthy, but hurt, in close quarters, and a ranged specialist, so he's trying to hang back a bit for the moment and react to danger as needed.

The guards have been alerted, so running for the exit that might be closed through a possibly open field. Time isn't our friend, but I don't think that rushing straight for the exit is the best choice.

Arash keeps his fingers on the string of his bow, scanning the hall as he moves along with the others. "I don't like this either, but I'd rather be inside at the moment than outside in an open killing ground."

Arash steadies himself as the immediate fight ends, but the pain in his side is growing by the moment. He relaxes, taking a staggering step to one side. Setting the longbow in his hands down, he checks the wounds, pulling off the ragged shirt they had dressed him in. Painful, but not too deep. It'll bleed, though. Not enough time to bind it... He grunts and heads for one of the downed guards, stripping the man of his gear. Arash slides on the guard's uniform and armor, buckling the man's longsword to his belt and throwing a fresh quiver over his shoulder. He hunts for the cleanest piece of clothing he can find, tearing it into a few strips and stuffing it under the armor and over the wound, hoping to help staunch the flow of blood.

"Arash, assassin formerly in the employ of one of the corrupt Mitran clergy." He picks up one of the longbows, testing the string for proper weight and pull. "Let's get out of here. I've got a bishop to pay back."

Judging by rolls and the armor the guards have been wearing, I seriously doubt it Gideon. Still hoping for a dead guard on your swing, though. God, I can't wait for 2nd level and Precise Shot.

"Fall, damn it!" Arash grumbles as he nocks another arrow and takes aim. He curses and flinches as he uses the damaged muscles in his side, throwing off his aim.

Arash rolls away from the guard and over the ogre's fallen form, attempting to put distance between him and the guard. I've got to maintain range! One hand guides his roll, while the other goes to his quiver, pulling an arrow.

Supposing that he's not dropped by an AoO:

Arash rolls over Grumblejack's body straight onto his feet, nocking the arrow and drawing back the bowstring in a smooth motion. He quickly aims and releases the arrow, but he overcompensates for the movement and the arrow strikes the stone wall with a crack as the shaft splinters and twists.

Arash moves to one side of the staircase, nocking an arrow and aiming for the opening. Wait for the enemy to appear. Patience, do not release too early. He slows his breathing, forcing himself to calm, despite the pain of the injury inflicted upon him by the guard. Damn. Careless, but time forced it.

Arash grabs his side as he heads over to the rack on the wall with the bows and shield. "Finally, a decent weapon." He looks back to the rest for a moment. "We need to get better weapons, quickly." He grimaces as he reaches up and pulls the bow off the wall. He'll grab a quiver of arrows if he's able to as well. He drops the dagger, letting it clatter and bounce on the stone floor.

Arash grits his teeth through the pain as the guard's weapon tears into him. Armor! I need armor, damn it! He grins slightly at the thought. A bow would be even better. To not be there to cut and slice.

He lunges at the guard with the knife, hoping to drop the man before he could be cut down. "Die, damn you!"

Arash races up behind the other guard, thrusting out with the dagger in his hand. Remember your training. Don't react, force the opponent to react.

Arash rubs his wrists, trying to improve the bloodflow and work out the painful creases in his skin. "What else is on that veil? There were weapons, right? We need to arm ourselves." He grins, a quite unwholesome sight, "It's time to set up an ambush. The question is... Do we lure them in here, or rush the guardroom?"

Arash watches the guard depart, keeping an eye on the door until he was sure it was closed. "Such wonderful men they have here. Goes right along with the accomodations..."

He turns to look at Stavros, "Back to it. The sooner we're free, the sooner I can have a bow in my hands. It'll be a joy to wrench it from those blind sheep."

Arash's eyes widen for a second before a large grin spreads across his face, "And now a means of escape makes itself apparent." He looks over to Stavros, "I believe you were asking about tools of a particular sort, correct?" He points to the picks with his tail. "Well, someone was listening... You got your wish."

He glances at Myra as she asks her question. You mirror my thoughts. "Patience. It is not like we have anything else to do but discuss at the moment."

He nods to Poki, "Strange indeed. You would not typically see such things on such an item."

The doors opens and Arash's tail falls limp behind him. Don't give them a reason to suspect you have a limb free. He watches the guards as they go about their business, keeping his eyes low, but taking stock of their gear. How well equipped are they?

Arash shakes his head. "Fear keeps you alive. It keeps you from making foolish mistakes... If you don't let it rule you." He shifts a bit, testing the fit of the manacle, trying to see if he could work his wrists free. "I have no intention of dying yet, at least not until I have my revenge. The bastard who betrayed me will die."

He grinned, "Besides, the trapped predator still has its fangs and claws. Lull the supposed hunter into a state of foolish superiority and he becomes your prey."

The great paintings of Mitra look a vibrant as ever in the light that flickers a pale oranges and reds and bright yellows. "So beautiful..." His voice whispers as they begin to blacken and curl. The paint ignites as the fire reaches them. "Perhaps you shouldn't have used a flammable paint." He can feel the grin spread across his face as he stares at the wall. It is like he's experiencing everything from somewhere inside himself, yet without control, just a bit distant. His vision turns to see the pews filled with the impaled corpses of the worshippers. Dead mitrans, every last one of them, each finally spared the lies of this corrupt land. Fire creeps up along the walls as he moves forward, his gaze locked on a single person in front of him, Bishop Buram Landrhew. The man backed away from him the fear evident in his eyes. Arash savored this. It was all that he wanted, his greatest desire in the world realized. The bishop stumbled into the great altar on the "stage" at the front. His hands wrapped around Buram's neck, pulsing and throbbing with life. The fire consuming the walls, the pews, the dead parishoners, everything framed the man's scared face, his bulging eyes and gasping mouth. "Such a beautiful scene. Consumed by the purifying fire as I take the life of the one that betrayed me. So beautiful!" He could feel the tears rolling down his cheeks, and the bishop uttered something. He pulled the man closer, just to tear the last words this betrayer, his "father" would speak, "Hey, that's you! The tailed hunter!" The world went black as confusion overtook him.

The chains jerk as shook as Arash lunged forward a bit, extending them in an effort to squeeze the last bit of life out of the bishop that was no longer there. A sudden realization came over him as he began to absorb his surroundings. He released a deep, throaty snarl, his tail lashing about in agitation. His arm ached fiercely and a quick turn of it showed the brand, scarred and burned into his fire-resistant flesh. A chuckle escaped his lips, "I wonder what they had to do to brand me like so." Another look around and he takes in the others chained to the wall with him. "Well, at least I'm not alone. That would've been terrible," he says with a level of sadness to his voice.

A glance at the gnome perks his interest. "You? You're that gnome that kept defying the Mitrans," he grins, "and helping to thin the poacher population. You were caught as well?"


Thanks AoM! I'm loving your game so far. :) The interaction is fantastic between those characters. I can only hope to live up to that same level myself.

I should be spot on for skills:

6 (class base) + 4 (Int) + 2 (campaign) = 12 points

I'm putting his favored class bonus into hit points in order to better offset the loss of hp from a 9 Constitution. I love skill points somethin' fierce, but I was reaching in where I put them in the first place (12 per level?! Seriously?! Woo hoo!).

I've been having issues in my Shattered Star game with individual initiative so far. I'm trying to resolve the confusion. Other than that, there are benefits to many different schemes, so I'm fine with whichever is chosen. I'll adapt. :)

In addition to stats in the bar underneath the name, I usually post a stat block underneath the rest of the post in a spoiler during combat.
