Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

Thanks, Organized, for running the adventure -- it's too bad we lost players along the way.

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

Anadyr smiles as Gregolyn steps behind the Troglodyte, "I'll swing high and low, you aim for the middle!" He draws his magic out into his weapons, and tries to strike down his distracted foe.

Rapier: 1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 1 + 2 = 5 for (if needed) 1d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 + 1 = 6
Shortsword: 1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 1 + 2 = 4 for (if needed) 1d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 + 1 = 8

Edit: Really? Really, dice roller? 1 and 2 on my attacks? What did I ever do to you? Maybe Jali accidentally misfortuned *me*

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

First up, attack of opportunity (vs. #4): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20 for 1d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 + 1 = 6

Anadyr grins as the Troglodytes attack him, laughing, "I guess I'm just not as scary looking as you are, Marius!", he exclaims, letting his wise tongue distract him from the pain and fear.

He grits his teeth a little and focuses his attention on the one that he's flanking with Marius, hoping to reduce the number of foes trying to kill him, while drawing on his magic to charge his weapons.

Rapier: 1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 1 + 2 = 21 -- possible crit, rolling to confirm 1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 1 + 2 = 5 -- nope, normal -- for 1d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 + 1 = 6

Shortsword: 1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 1 + 2 = 10 for 1d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 + 1 = 7

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

Anadyr wonders aloud, "What do you guys think -- is this that Tasskar the kids were telling us about?"

He walks a wide path around the newcomer, Careful, that scimitar looks sharp, and the Trog looks like he knows how to use it..., shifting into a flanking position.. Marius should help keep it distracted...

He raises his rapier to strike, keeping his concentration on the foe while pulling some of his magic into the blade.

Attack roll: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 3 + 2 = 14
Probably not a hit, but being optimistic... 1d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 + 1 = 7

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

Anadyr winces as the troglodyte takes two arrows and continues to advance, and is especially concerned about the one that hasn't taken up a weapon. Spellcaster, perhaps? Or just one that wants to fight with its claws?

He drops his bow as the troglodytes close on him, drawing his rapier and shortsword, then taking a small (5') step to stand next to Marius, filling the weapon with a fraction of his magic while trying to jab it into the unarmed troglodyte.

Rapier (attack roll) 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20 and (damage roll) 1d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 + 1 = 3 {arcane strike}

When the beast doesn't fall, despite the jab, he sighs and says, "These blasted lizard are tough.... Next time can we go to a tower full of harmless fluffy bunnies?"

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

Anadyr steps back and draws his bow at Gregolyn's news, Yup, something that wants to kill us, no doubt. The stories of adventurers seem much nicer than the reality of it... He shakes himself a moment and nods as he touches his magic, ready to fill the bow with a fraction of it.

Following Gregolyn's example: Initiative roll: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19

Attacking anything hostile, especially a troglodyte, Shortbow: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16

Damage (if needed): 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 {Arcane strike)

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

Took social skills, no ranks in Spellcraft.

Anadyr reports, "Nothing has a magic aura other than the scrolls. I guess we should grab the valuables and head upstairs, unless anyone sees a better option?"

He chuckles, "And I won't take that bet -- at this point I think the whole tower exists just to trouble us."

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

Nope. I got Arcane Strike as a bonus feat instead. The life of an Arcane Duelist...

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

While the others are studying the ruins, Anadyr sighs, Maybe I should have attended more classes after all.. oh well, I should make myself useful, in any case.

With that, he casts Detect Magic and starts to scan the room, looking for any magical auras.. Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

Anadyr shakes his head slowly, "No, sorry. I learned little lore at the Academy -- I spent too much time performing on the streets to pay for my schooling to actually attend much of it.... especially the drier parts."

He looks at the bodies and asks, "Can anyone tell how these were killed? Did they run afoul of our flaming friends? And if so, who keeps setting the locks and traps behind them?"

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

Anadyr, feeling somewhat more confident, stops his constant litany of jokes, and steps forward to introduce the skeleton to his rapier. Need to save some for when we stop the sacrifice...

Attack roll: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19 for 1d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 + 1 = 4

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

Also, Marius, you're inspired for an additional +1 competence bonus to attack and damage..

Anadyr keeps up his litany of jibes at the skeletons to inspire his companions, "Flaming skeletons... Flaming idiots is more like it...", and draws some of his magic into his weapons to try to strike them down.

Rapier: 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 + 1 = 4 {inspired} for 1d6 + 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 + 1 + 1 = 5 {inspire, arcane}
Shortsword: 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 + 1 = 13 {inspired} for 1d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 + 1 = 5 {inspire, arcane}

At what point do I just admit the dice roller hates me?

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

Anadyr grits his teeth as the flaming skeletons come into view and begin their attack. The curse escapes his lips without him even realizing, "By the Harp and Flute..." trailing off as he sees the flaming skeletal things move with such speed, closing in on him before he has a chance to react.

He drops his now-useless bow and draws his rapier and shortsword, with a small part of his mind shouting doubts about that plan, They have no flesh to stab, fool. What will your weapons do? His mind fills with fear for a brief moment -- and then begins to fill, instead, with wise-cracks, as it always does. He smirks a little at the bad puns pushing away the fear, and then reaches into himself and drawing forth the magic as he was taught.

"Now that's the most severe case of heartburn I've ever seen..." Move action: Draw weapons; Standard action: Begin Performance (Inspire Courage)

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

Anadyr shakes his head when approaching the next door, joking,"It seems someone has an overly developed sense of privacy."

One again, he takes up a covering-fire position with his bow, ready to release both an arrow and some of his magic.

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

Noticing Gregolyn's actions, Anadyr smiles and readies his bow. He chuckles and says, "Better dust than blood, friend." And then nods in response to Greoglyn's question.

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

Anadyr looks at the door to the stairs and back to Gregolyn, "Hopefully that one opens to more than rubble", he jokes, but keeping his distance in case of trap.

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

As Gregolyn prepares to open the door, Anadyr nocks an arrow in his bow and reaches for the magic within him, ready to fire at anything hostile which may lie beyond.

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

Anadyr lets out the breath he wasn't aware he was holding when Gregolyn begins to put his tools away.

Oh, good, we didn't explode.... maybe our luck is improving? I thought about standing back a bit, but didn't want Gregolyn to think I had no faith in him.

He smiles and says, "Nice work, Gregolyn...That's one less nasty surprise, at least..." His tone shifts from light to pensive as he continues, "I must confess that it makes me wonder what's on the other side of the door that's so important... and how those green kids got in here without setting that thing off, for that matter."

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

Anadyr whispers wryly, "But the rest of the tower has just been so welcoming...". He walks closer to the door, standing in a guard position near Gregolyn.

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

Anadyr follows his companions into the room, and says in a soft voice, "Sadly, nothing here is enchanted.... I imagine the magical items were the first things taken."

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

Anadyr chuckles as he realizes what this must look like, three trained warriors with their weapons ready to strike down one young Lizard-whassit. He sheathes his blades and winks at his companions, chuckling, "If he can get past the three of you in his state, there is nothing I could do that would stop him."

He looks into the next room, and noting that the shelves have not been completely stripped, thinks to himself, One never knows...

He casts Detect Magic and looks forward, scanning for magical auras while Jali continues her interrogation.

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

Anadyr keeps his hands on his blades, This isn't as romantic and fun as the stories made it out to be, now is it? He smiles and says in a light tone, "I agree with Gregolyn, both in terms of getting what information we can -- and about leaving him here. We'll untie him when we leave -- because the option of having him with us to warn his friends we're coming is less than appealing." He then smiles and says, "Besides which, it smells bad enough in there without us bringing our own stinkpot prisoner with us."

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

Anadyr's eyes widen as Jali translates.

A stream of questions begins in his head, which he speaks aloud, his voice completely lacking his usual jovial tone, "They mean to sacrifice a humanoid? Maybe that's the missing scout? Who is this Tasskar? Where are they? How many 'priests' are there? And to whom are they making the offering? A god, or something else that lives in the tower?"

Edit: Added reminder information about mission from GM to questions -- it's been weeks for me, but hours for Anadyr.

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

With Marius' approval, Anadyr unstops a potion and drinks, relieved to feel the healing magics wash over him and remove the cloud from his thoughts.

He stretches to test his movement, drawing both shortswords as he does, muttering, "Definitely should get a handbag...".

Cure Moderate Wounds 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (6, 2) + 3 = 11

He then looks toward the surrendered Troglodyte, waiting to be told either to stand down or strike.

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

Odd. Despite dotting, I didn't see the end of combat message update -- only the more recent posts made the system tell me there was something new.

Anadyr looks up from the potion bottle and nods at Jali, "They attacked us, but it could be that they are defending their home. I do not wish to kill anything unnecessarily, but I also do not want an enemy at our backs, or one who prepares the defenders against us."

He sighs, and continues more quietly, "As such, I am thinking that we should ask...it... for information about what is to come and leave it restrained here, offering to unbind it as we leave."

He holds up one of the potions and smiles, asking, "Does anyone mind? I'm still feeling shaky from the lizard earlier, and out of healing magic."

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14

Anadyr grimaces as the reptilian beasts walk into the room.... Well, that certainly settles it.. Or, wait, does it?

Anadyr says to Marius, "Hold, let me give our new friends the slip..."

Ignoring his damage, he casts grease on the 10x10 square the beasts are currently standing on, and then tries to step to the back of the room.

That should help Gregolyn and Marius... This retreat is anything but heroic... I really hope one of these is a healing potion.. I mean it, boots and a handbag...

Since there are no numbers, the spell's center is exactly between the two troggies, and Anadyr's retreat will be a 15' move to the other end of the room.

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

Anadyr nods and says with a smile, "One would hope we also get a handbag after all that trouble..". He drops to one knee to rest, trying to shake off the effect of the shock. Should I cast my last spell on myself? It seems terribly early to use up all of my magic.

Assuming Marius mentions the potions..

"One hopes those are useful... I must admit that I'm not feeling terribly well."

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

Anadyr nods in agreement at Marius' suggestion, but keeps up his stream of taunts. "Our boots are getting away!" He chases the lizard into the room (making a full 30' move in order to remain clear), and brings up his bow, willing the magic into his weapon.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

Damn, the shock is still affecting me!

Gregolyn wrote:
I don't have a +1 to my BAB so I cannot draw my sword AND move in the same round. I am still holding my shortbow, so if possible after I move into position, I would like to fire at the lizard at point blank range if I can do so without hitting Jali...

Totally ooc, but, unless I've been playing wrong forever, you can drop your bow (free), draw your weapons (move action), 5'-step (no-action), and attack.... ? The rules seem to indicate you get a 5-footer as long as you don't make any other movement, and drawing a weapon isn't actually movement - even though it's a move-equivalent action... Of course, as I said, I may be wrong, but I've always played thus

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

Reflex Save--> 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12

Anadyr winces and tries to shake off the effects of the jolt. That... was..... unpleasant... I'm feeling a little thickheaded...

Shaking his head, he steps back and brings up his bow, surpised at its heaviness... Better help them, especially if they are setting up to flank... He continues to move back (a total of 15'), and reaches into himself to find the magic. He exhales once, and in his usual light-hearted tone, begins to taunt the lizard, "That was positively shocking, Boots... Or should I call you Sparky?..."

Activating bardic performance: Insipre Courage.

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

I'd have to look through the rules, though I suspect based on your comments that the search may be fruitless. I would, however, say that if you can't ready an action outside of combat, you wouldn't really ever be able to ambush anyone... unless you have the ability to dictate that you want initiative rolls to happen "in anticipation".

Initiative Roll: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18

Anadyr raises his bow, the training Sakor drilled into him responding even as his mind reels, A lizard? Here? What's it been eating? Other than us, I mean. Trying to appear outwardly calm he says, "Oh, look, a pair of boots!" and then fires as he exhales.

Attack Roll: Shortbow: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14

Damage roll, if needed: Shortbow: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

Does the door open inward or out?

Anadyr steps back to stand near Marius, readying an arrow and pushing some of his magic into the bow...

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

Not at all, Anadyr would have been listening right at the door..

With his companions arriving, Anadyr steps away from the door and whispers to them, "There is something scratching behind the northern door. We'd best make ready."

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

Anadyr looks down to ensure that his companions are proceeding... I hope Gregolyn's shoulder does not interfere with the climb...

He then turns to face the doors... I wonder if there's any sign as what's behind them... maybe I can figure out what's going on before they get up here...

He then takes a moment to give them a better look, and then pauses a moment to listen at each.

Perception test (looking): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17

Perception test (listening south): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

Perception test (listening north): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

Anadyr looks concerned as Gregolyn slides back down the wall, "Are you all right? Is it your shoulder?" Once he's assured himself that Gregolyn didn't injure himself, he nods at Gregolyn's assessment and says, "It's not your fault, that hand-hold shifted when you grabbed it. Loose stone, I guess."

Well, Anadyr, you said you could do it... I guess now you have to prove yourself...

Anadyr takes the offered rope and looks up at the tower, trying to plan his route: "Sure, I'll give it a shot. If nothing else, I know not to grab *that* rock on the way up..."

Climb Check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

Anadyr watches Gregolyn to ensure there's no sleight of hand involved in the coin toss. "Well, it would seem I called incorrectly. Of course, considering the risk, I'm not sure who just won."

He then steps aside to let Gregolyn examine the handholds while Jali finishes braiding the rope. He then turns to her with a smile and slightly apologetic tone, "You misunderstand - I believe in the rope... I just did not want to assume that I would be permitted to use it."

As Gregolyn prepares himself for the climb, Anadyr draws an arrow and looks to the skies.. Let's hope there aren't more spiders, or worse. He'll be quite exposed while he climbs.

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

Anadyr's eyes sparkle at the idea, "Leaving it to chance? Now that is something I can appreciate. I call crown."

Crown = 1, I guess.

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

Anadyr smiles at Jali and bows to acknowledge her barb. With a chuckle and smile in his voice he says, "Why, dear Jali, my sister taught me to never assume anything where women are concerned." Twinkle still in his eye, he then turns to the rogue, saying, "Are you quite sure? That resembles a latch right there..."

He chuckles slightly at his own joke, then says a mite more soberly, "Indeed, Gregolyn, I do not doubt that you are the more skilled climber, though I may have downplayed my own history somewhat. Still, I was not weakened by spider venom, and was somewhat worried about your shoulder... However, I am more than willing to let you take the risk, if you prefer."

Climb modifier is +4, counting the armor check penalty for my studded - which I might remove if the climb is high enough

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

Anadyr looks up at the climb, assessing it against his abilities.

"Sadly, I have neither rope nor grapple, but I am a fair climber -- I had to scale more than a few fences to get away from gangs in my day. As long as everyone agrees to cover me, I can see about tying off the rope..."

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

After spending too long in his fruitless search, Anadyr sighs. I guess nothing will be easy today...

He smiles at his companions, "It would seem that you were correct, Jali, though I hope you forgive me, but I still wish you weren't... It seems we have little choice but to climb."

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

Anadyr looks at the blocked passageway and lowers his bow as he laughs slightly at just how tense he had been. Well, I do not believe the rocks will try to kill us, at the least.

He looks up when Jali speaks, "Perhaps there is a hidden way we did not see -- I'd recommend we spend some small time ensuring we did not miss such a thing before risking the climb."

Perception roll... 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

Anadyr smiles, "I agree. The fact is that door is the first thing we've encountered here that hasn't tried to eat us."

Of course, we haven't seen what's on the other side of the door yet...

Anadyr nods at Marius' question to indicate he's ready, and then sidesteps to give himself a clear line of fire when the door opens, readying an arrow and bringing up his bow.

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

Ha, you're right, I didn't say that I actually cast the spell. I had intended to - so that you had a light source that was working in your pack. So, yes, let's say I did cast it -- whether or not my 10 minutes are up is the question.

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

Anadyr steps into the room at Gregolyn's call.

The rogue is focusing on the door, perhaps I should see if we've missed anything interesting...

He then casts Detect Magic and looks around while the rogue studies the door.

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

Anadyr quietly moves up to take a position on the other side of the arch from Marius, also readying his bow. He nods at the ranger as he positions himself but says nothing, slowly releasing the breath he started holding when the rogue first snuck forward.

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

Marius' words trigger memories of that sense of loss and uncertainty he knew so well as a child. Anadyr sighs briefly, and then steels himself and his smile and says, "I agree with Marius, we cannot allow some poor person to suffer needlessly, not knowing what became of their beloved companion. We should attempt to find the owner and at least give them some peace rather than let them be overcome with worry."

He then nods at Marius' suggestion that the party should move on. "The thrill of danger and exploration is far better than remembered pain or guilt for allowing Gregolyn to become injured."

He turns to Jali with a smile and says, "Lady, since our hands are filled with bows and, if needed, blades, would you mind carrying this?" He lifts a stone about half the size of his palm and offers it to her. "I had thought to cast light on the weapon or armour of a warrior, but it seems that each of the three of us is somewhat more fond of a stealthy approach... which would be ruined by casting a glow. So I thought, instead, perhaps you could carry this stone for us -- something we could roll into shadowy corners at a need?"

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

Anadyr nods in agreement with Greoglyn's comment. "Indeed, Marius, if you are to blame yourself, you may as well blame me for apparently losing the ability to strike a target as soon as it mattered."

After all, I certainly do..., he sighs to himself. He then wills his smile back into place and continues, "At least my magic could undo the worse of the harm that befell our companion, and more importantly, we were able to slay the foul thing before it could do truly lasting harm."

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

"And so falls the venomous pincushion....

Anadyr stops taunting the spider as it falls from the web, happy to have his mind occupied with the absurd, rather than facing the near-horror of the situation. A single spider almost fell one of my companions... I am not sure we are prepared for this danger.

Hearing Jali and Gregolyn's words, he steps towards them, "I can't help with the venom effects, but this should help, I think..."

Anadyr clears his mind and listens for the healing song within him, and then starts to chant softly as he lays a hand on Gregolyn... Cure Light Wounds... 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Anadyr then smiles and says, "At least the spider left us a present! Who wants to unwrap it? Is it anyone's birthday?"

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

His accuracy already questionable, Anadyr lowers his bow as the spider drops down on his ally. I'm just as liable to hit Gregolyn now that melee is joined. With that, he takes a deep a deep breath, reaching for the magic he was taught in his brief time at the college. He then smiles as he feels it within him, and begins to taunt the spider activating his Inspire Courage performance to boost his allies, using Perform (Comedy), "Wow, are you ugly... No wonder you hide up in all that webbing..." Smiling as he feels the magic surge and a series of appropriate insults emerging from his mouth, he attempts to move into a better firing position, shifting to the north-west, then west, then south-west, a total of 20'.

Male Human Bard (Arcane Duelist) [Module Ended: Fallen Fortress]

Anadyr curses as his shot goes wide, then silently berates himself: That's what you get for loosing before you aim. It's all well and good to react quickly, but only if you can do something meaningful! He pulls a new arrow to his bow, taking a deep breath as he channels a trickle of arcane energy into it.

Taking a deep breath, he fires his bow again, 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7, and then curses as he misses again, "Godsblood!" At the first hint of real danger, suddenly you forget how to use your bow? Better not try to cut Gregolyn out of the web, you'd probably impale him.
