One last post. It doesn't feel right to walk way from a campaign after so long (8/2019!) without this.
Amphitryon sat within his temple. He was a God, though not a full one. The weight of the mantle weighed heavily on him, and he worried about what he was becoming. Aikaterine was holding up better than him, in making her divine portfolio work for her, rather than becoming it. He had been a mercenary, but that had never been *what* he was. He had been his own person, with his own wants, desires and dreams. Many had laughed at him in his love of cooking, but it was important to him to be more than his job. It was what he had admired about his brother, in that his brother had been brave enough to seek out his own dreams. It felt like so long ago that they had left their Mercenary Company, together. But now he felt himself slipping. Slipping into being the God of War and nothing else.
The last fight that they were in had shown this far too clearly. He had ended it with a single blow of his sword. He had shown powers far beyond what he should have been capable of. But his *need* to have the sword on him at all times, and the *need* to wear his armor was proof that it was not he who was truly in control. It was terrifying. Even moreso was that he now had duties and responsibilities. Ares, for all of his many, many faults, had been the God of War. There were tasks that required doing in the name of the Gods. Tasks that now fell upon his shoulders. It was foolish to think that the current crisis was the only one that Zues had to keep his godly eyes on.
It was for this reason that Amphitryon was being sent away. He was not at liberty to tell anyone where he was going, or what he was doing. It was for Zues, as the King of the Gods, to know, and none else. Reflecting on the tasks before him, he knew that they were important. And he knew that both Aik and Kyr would understand. As it was, he dreaded having to tell them that he was leaving. But he knew it was for the best. He needed time to truly understand what he was becoming. He needed time alone to master the power within himself, lest the power consume him. And deep down, he had the feeling that Zues was sending him away because the God the heavens knew this. And he worried that Zues was also sending him away because he did not trust Amphitryon. There were forces at work which were moving against the Gods. While Amphitryon's strength would surely be of great use in turning the tide, so too could he cause irreparable harm if he fell into the wrong side. Or if they could find a way to steal the power within him before he learned how to defend himself. Every way that he looked at it, it made sense to send the warrior away so that he could be of use to Olympus, and so that he would not put it in peril.
Rising to his feet he stretched his wings. They had grown when he had fought the infamous Pirate King. From within his helmet, which he truly found hard to distinguish from his own face, he looked out. He had one last thing to do. He would go and say goodbye to his brother, and to Aik. It broke his heart, but he knew that this was for the best. All he could do was hope that he would see them again, in time.

It is sad to say but I will be leaving the campaign. I’ve really enjoyed the campaign, with DM Amazing Red, as well as RPing with Aik and Kyr. I hope to be in other campaigns with both of you in the future.
I had been talking with our GM about Amph’s build in PMs. As the campaign will be moving into PF2, of which I don’t have any of the books and don’t know the rules, I’ll be bowing out. I just wanted to say that on my end there are no hard feelings and I wish you all the best.

I am claiming a cloak of resistance +4, a ring of protection +3 and an amulet of natural armor +3. That will put my +1 versions into the party sell pool.
I think that Kyr could make good use out of the wounding keen rapier. Even if he isn't built for close combat, it's good to have a weapon for if it happens. He could also make use of one of the boots of speed, given that he is an archer.
Also, can anyone use the burglar bracers? They are pretty amazing, all things considered.
Anyways, let's figure out who is grabbing what so we can figure out how much the rest sells for.

Amphitryon shrugged. ”We have a face and a name for our opponent. We’ve got bloody loot. And a ship. Moreso, when we report this back the results guarantee more work. I am quite satisfied.” He didn’t take off his helmet, rather he caused the glammer on it to reveal his face beneath. If he could help it then he would never be without it again.
”The palace is saved, we are getting paid, and we had fun.” He kicked the remains of the pirate lord for emphasis. ”Id say that this calls for a celebration.”

Off topic, I came across godling, Eldritch Godling, mighty godling and clever godling classes. It immediately made me think of this campaign. :) Not asking to use them, just think they are neat and that this campaign was fitting

Amphitryon frowned, and was glad that his helm hid it. The demigod was quite calm, all things considered. It felt like bringing him in was somehow part of his plan. It made him wonder who else was part of the conspiracy, and what chain of events this was going to set off. It seemed like this entire plot was designed for this moment. Was the pirate king but a pawn, sacrificed for this to happen? The fact that the demigod had walked in so casually to turn himself in suggested that.
”Yes, you’re father. Of course. We will keep that in mind when we talk to Lord Zues. But you are going to come with us. What the Lords of Olympus do with you is not for us to decide.”
As he said this he walked over to Varocles and put his hand on the dwarf’s shoulder. Not looking away from Zagreus, he said ”It would be foolish to tell a disciple of Poseidon to not go where the waves take him. I hope we meet again.”

Thank you! I'm quite happy with how it turned out. Kind of hard to be the avatar of war if you can't do damage. As for Aik? She's a really deadly caster. Something which Amph will struggle with more and more as time goes on. Well, that and crowds. A single big hit is great. But a 9d6+46+1 fireball can drop large numbers much, much faster.

With a wave of his hands, Amphitryon closed the wound left by the pirate king. He listened to the demigod speak, completely unmoved. "Morality." He scoffed. Glancing over at his brother, he said "How many men have tried to turn our father's mercenary army aside with pleas of morality?" Turning back to the demigod, he said "If such a thing existed, would there be war?"
Bluff:1d20 ⇒ 19
He then added "Why should we join you? You have set yourself up against the powers of Olympus. What fool would join a side that has no hope of victory? Surely you must have something more worthwhile to say, if you walk in here so boldly before us."
He had absolutely no desire to join the demigod's rebellion. And truth be told, his soul sang for more blood. For him to turn his blade from the fallen pirate to the arrogant demigod. But information was needed. That, and he told himself, that wars were not just screaming berserkers. No, wars were won in times like this, for it was these moments which dictated what the future battles would be.

Mechanics breakdown.
(1) Amphitryon is a warpriest. The biggest part of this is that he can do swift action self-buffs, currently 6 tiems a day. My basic numbers assume that he always has divine favor up. This gives him +3 luck bonus to hit and damage, increased to +4 due to the trait fate's favored.
(2) As a warpriest he gets extra combat feats. With this, I have the weapon of the chosen feat tree. This has a number of effects.
(2a) As a swift action he can make his weapon re-roll miss chance due to concealment and it does chaotic aligned damage.
(2b) Anytime he makes a single attack with a greatsword, he rolls twice and picks the higher roll.
(3) He is an arsenal champion warpriest. Loses a blessing and damage die doesn't increase for favored weapon. But he gets weapon training. He has glvoves of dueling, which increases weapon training by +2.
And that's pretty much how he operates. Always keep divine favor up whenever possible. Bull's strength after that. I experimented with the spell Inheritor's Strike (+5 to hit on a single attack as a swift action) as it seemed like a good idea to use it to ensure that he hits. But it is a lvl 2 spell slot, so I'm not sure that it is a good use of resources. I'll probably swap it out if I get the chance.
If there are any questions about the build, the numbers, or anything, I'd be glad to talk it through.

Alright with haste no charge then. To Hit: +6 (BaB) +4 (Str) +1 (Weapon Focus) +2 (Enchantment) +4 (Weapon Training with gloves) +4 (Luck) = +21. Then haste is +1 for 22. Finally the spell Inheritor’s Smite gives +5. So I was 1 off…sorry about that. Also in retrospect Inheritor’s smite isn’t that great. Should have just went with Bull’s strength.
Finally he didn’t attack twice. Greater Weapon of the Chosen. It lets him roll twice and pick the highest.
Amphitryon rose up, his black wings taking him into the air. Without heed for any danger, he shot through the air at the famed pirate captain. His brother’s magic caused him to fly with supernatural speed, his blade held out like a spear. Few could hope to avoid such an attack. If the man failed to react in time, then he would likely find himself impaled.

Somewhere, deep down, Amphitryon knew that they should keep the man talking. They needed information, not just his head. They had to know who he was really working for, and who worked with him. There were so many ways to get it, from asking questions now to feigning joining the crew. He *wanted* to do this. He *tried* to do it. ”Oh yes.” He said, his voice dripping with malice and barely restrained rage. ”Oh GREAT HERO! Tell us more. Tell…tell us…”
He trailed off, shuddering as Ares’ power surged through him. With a roar of anger and pain he double over, as a pair of black wings exploded out of his back. He looked up at the captain and snarled beneath his helmet. For all purposes he looked like an avatar of Ares’ wrath. A statue come to life. There was no doubt that violence was seconds away from breaking out.
SLA Angelic Aspect! Is it lessor or greater? I assume lessor. Either way it goes off and he has a fly speed. Swift action fervor for Divine Favor. +3 Hit and damage.

The shadow warrior smiled beneath his helm, feeling rejuvenated by the slaughter. He took a moment to loot the body, and once he had done so went to return to the group to report what had happened. He had considered chasing after the other halfling, but decided that it would be far more prudent to mount a proper response, rather than to go chasing after...well...shadows.

Unphased by the darkness, he swung his blade around in an arc. He wasn't used to fighting anyone so small, but he was still certain that he could cut the miniature assailant down to size. Or at least, down to a small size.

He had given the halflings the chance to come out peacefully. If they listened to his words and were willing to talk, then he was as well. But if they ran? He was fully ready for this to go violently. And by that, he was prepared to plunge the room into darkness.

From behind his helmet, Amphitryon watched the captain to see if there was any trace of dishonesty there. If he were to try and pull off something like this, he'd want someone on the inside. However, if there was any traitorous thoughts there, they were hidden to him.
"At the very least, we can map out a few areas that he'd have to go through to get to the safe room and plan an ambush there. Even if the room is hidden, I would not completely trust to it's secrecy."

Under his helmet Amphitryon couldn't help but smile. He was never the kind of person who stayed dour for long. And why should he? Life was too short, even in times of peace. And his line of work was not peaceful. He saw no reason to remove said helm, or to announce his new status to Alexia. He didn't even understand what he had to do in the role, so it did not feel proper to publicly wear it.
"Is there any planned movement for the king, or events which would take him into public? The two classic ways of regicide are poison and ambush." He had no experience in the former, but the latter? That could be more fun to thwart. At the very least, it would be closer to his area of expertise.

Amphitryon stood to the side of Aikaterine, his arms crossed. He let the glamer on his armor fall away, so that the raiment of Ares was clearly visible. Once the group had gotten back together, Amphitryon spoke, telling them what he learned.
”…this pirate will be involved in this somehow. And it seems as if though he has no loyalty to anything but himself. We have two options as I see it. We can sign onto his crew, or we can sneak in. I’ve never been one for sneaking. Just not very good at it. But he will be wary and we may be known to the enemy by now. What are your thoughts on this?”
Amphitryon nodded along as he listened to the mercenary. Disguising his interest in the pirates, he steered the conversation back towards talking about the half-orc's military career, coming in with his own anecdotes as was appropriate and ordering more drinks. What mattered was making the conversation into one which was friendly and innocuous. What he wanted to get out of it though, was...what kind of jobs had Glaucetas taken before? Who was on his ship? Was there someone to get into contact when looking for a job? And was there any local news that was out of the ordinary? He knew that the mercenary didn't know what job they were here for, but if he could find some local rumors, then he might be able to piece something together.

Would you allow me to take this? Umbral Unmasking feels very IC for Amphitryon. The idea here would be that his shadow is always that of Ares in his full armor. So he can certainly walk around with his glamered armor and weapons, but someone with keen eyes could pick out that something is wrong.
I'd take secret knowledge for +2 knowledge religion. Which feels like something that very much fits what has happened to him.

Amphitryon stepped off of the ship and looked around. He still wore the armor and carried the blade of Ares, though one would never have guessed from looking at him. In his time at the Temple, he had become attuned with the plate and sword. It was now truly a part of him, and like his spear before the change, it was cloaked by his shadow. The Shadow Warrior appeared as if though he wore a simple chiton. Given that the clothing was, in fact, his armor, the garmet was long, including sleeves. The color was dark, a mixture of grays and blacks. Of his blade, it was disguised as a himation. He was taller than before, and broad of shoulder, but not overly so. While he might stand out from that, he still looked normal enough to not warrant anything besides a glance from a passerby.
"Indeed, that we should." He said, to Varocles. "But pirates would be just the sort who would have the information we seek, would they not? I believe that I will go to a local tavern. Have a drink and see what information I can find about those ne'er-do-wells. If they are to be a source of information, it would be right to know who we are going to talk to. Would any of you like to come with?"

Second post because of its importance:
We still have "smile" (Currently +3 Keen Kukri) in my inventory. It belonged to Diskord. Aik really should take it, even just to keep on her person. It sounds like it will level up with her, and may even take a different form.

261 gold left, and he'll buy a new cloak when he gets the funds.

For RPing this, I am going to just roll it into his previous powers. His entire deal as being the 'shadow warrior' before was that he could summon a weapon from shadows. Now that he has had the rebuild, I'm going to fluff this as being his armor and weapon will work the same way. Not that they actually disappear, but that they are hidden within his shadow. Which is why true seeing or the like would see through it, as per enchantment descriptions.
So yes. He dropped all of his gold, and a useful item, for fluff reasons. But after his recent power up, I'm really alright with that. :D
Will do a writeup depending on the answer to the discussion question. If his shopping was already done, then he can go around looking like he used to and I'll write it up based on that. If he needs to go find someone to put the enchantment on, then I'll do a writeup with that in mind

Amphitryon mentally shrugged. He did not know what caused the change of heart, and he saw no reason to question it. What mattered was that the cleric was on their side. As far as he was concerned, a phalanx did not require everyone to be friends, if needed everyone to be able to trust each other.

At the talk of the demigods turning, Amphitryon stood up straighter, his eyes gleaming with anticipation. The notion of fighting them stirred his soul, something which before would have left him in dread. He swallowed the words that he wanted to say, knowing that voicing excitement would be most improper. But he couldn’t stop himself from feeling, and what he wanted was to test himself against them in battle. While it was wrong, he truly hoped that there was a conspiracy afoot which would set the heavens aflame in war.

Amphitryon listened. He was wearing his armor, with the helm held under his arm. It felt 'right' in the sense that he had still yet to take it off, but 'wrong' in the sense that he did not feel divine. He still slept, he still ate, he still needed to heed the call of nature. He couldn't hear or answer prayers. And what little miracles he could do paled in comparison to that of Varocles, who received his power from a true God. And worst of all, he now felt that there was a sense of expectation on him, a weight on his shoulders to not screw up. He gave a terse smile at Kyronai's question, for it was on his mind as well.
