At a certain obvious point during the telepathy , Amhesha's ears flare up. <Woah wait do your names correlate with anything?? I'm going to need a way to talk to you in person though. Our primary diplomat in Zharis doesn't, only me, Amhesha of the Mother's Tongue, and Theo B. do if I recall. Going to need a way to get to you, or at least your location.>
Amhesha nods, trying her best to talk telepathically (trying Anassan first, because of course she learned the language during off-hours) using the circlet, sounding like someone who does so fairly frequently, but not nearly as much as the Theodore. <Oh, hey. Might want to clarify what you mean by 'tasty', telepathy can be a little hairy sometimes since it's based on neurological structures. You DON'T intend to eat me and send me towards serpentine chaotic freedom yet, right?>

Amhesha fires at yellow, her exocortex flaring to life as she readies the awkward stance that is 'fighting in normal range with a literal sniper rifle', ready to fight the forces of law with the grin of someone who knows she's going to be a Protean when her life is over.
"Sorry, frost projector's integrated into my armor. I've got no guns to give you."
"I vote for that, yeah," Amhesha says as she leans back a bit, cleaning some icicles off of her rifle.
Amhesha sighs. "I agree with Mr. Coldforge here, we're going to need all the help we can get. We aren't really made to be warriors. We're a bunch of scientists, with perhaps some combat on the side."
"Yuuuuup. I mostly joined because I saw a linguistic artefact being discussed and asked 'do you need a mechanic'... which it turned out they did."
"Amhesha of Ydajisk, former apprentice mechanic of Mother's Tongue, now mechanic for this group. I... think I will leave the explaining to Zharis."
Amhesha holds out her balled fists and activates her armor's inbuilt frost-projectors, spewing cold shards of ice, snow, and sleet everywhere... a bit too much, as she continues to swear in a hissing Protean.
"I'd say 'don't use fire' but I'm pretty sure you'd have to be braindead to bring a fire-based weapon to a freaking INVASION FROM THE PLANE OF FIRE. Energy weapons are the way to go."
Amhesha prepares to blast the thing with her frost projector when she's able to. "A f##~ing neotophet, 'course lawful pricks would use 'em. All they can ever do is constrain people!"
"Like F$!*ING AXIS will I side with LAW, lady. Glad to be able to spit truth from my tongue," she says as she backs up and fires. "But my hatred of Pulonis still stands. I just don't side with those idiots."
Man too bad this isn't SF2e, otherwise Amhesha would be the easiest Cleric Archetype I've ever seen.
Amhesha just cackles again as she rubs her holy symbol while the force-field opens. She then hisses quietly in Protean, Protean:
"Chaos's waters, you people are dense."
Might finally be ending my long stretch of nemployment with a f#~%ed schedule myself soon, I understand
Amhesha just cackles, keeping it vague. "What makes you think I hold any loyalty to the planet that discarded me as a child?" she says as she points to the piebaldism present throughout her face, the marks that caused her to be sent off-world.
Yeah, I MIGHT want to start a fight, but it'll be more... actually direct not "woops these aren't tools just lying around" XD
NNnngggh, misread that post. Can I walk that post back? I slept 4h and had an interview today.
"It'll take the mechanic about 30 minutes to finish repairing this thing," Amhesha says as she examines the tools. "Huh. Some unique tools here. I'll be taking these."
Protean: "This is going to be a headache, I can tell. Save me sweet void."
"We weren't recruited by Khaim. I'm not the... diplomat? talker? extrovert? here, and she's probably a bit more recognizable than I am."
Amhesha goes to the lashunta before anyone else manages to. She stands there, sniper rifle in hand (but pointed downwards so as to not act as a threat), and frost projector wired into , her gear as she looks her over. If she's the only one he sees, he sees what he might guess to be a cleric or a warpriest of some kind, with holy/unholy symbols pretty prominent throughout most of her dress and gear. If she isn't the only one visible, however, he can probably correctly surmise that she's part of the rest of the group that opened the door.
As opposed to Amhesha, who is... the exact opposite of disguised, symbols of linguistics, anarchy, memes, and religion everywhere on her -- it's probably not even worth trying to disguise herself.
Neither does Amhesha. "I'm in agreement with Xylian here."
Amhesha just sits back, taking a breather to maintain her analogue weapon carefully, occasionally her hand jolts back as she's struck with the cold of the frost infusion. "Damn thing!"
Amhesha hits a wall, swearing in Protean.
Amhesha quickly activates combat tracking and fire, barely even looking at the scope for obvious reasons, given the target is right in front of her.
I return after a hasty move due to Circumstances (TM)!
"And one that'd function just as well as a place for veterinary care for a pet squox, as well."
Amhesha tests that her equipment is working, particularly the finnicky frost projector implemented into her armor, but nods once she's ready as well.
At least until the end of the week, my responses are probably going to slow down a decent bit. Something pretty bad IRL came up.
Protean: "I'm not an Elysian goodie-two shoes, I'll give ya that."
"For once," Amhesha sighs. "I'm on Tulgram's side here. Both logically and emotionally. F!@! no."
"Like language, I have enough rigor and consistency at any given time. I admit it -- I'm not primarily a scientist like you guys are. I got utterly enraptured in that bit of an undecyphered language and jumped at the chance wanting something new in my life. That stimulation. That CHAOS." she sighs. "If that makes me the odd one out, so be it. But there's no way off this train right now, so I'll see it to its end. Some growing part of me wants to visit Galismeni. "

" She's resting her head in her paws, mulling over the data and reports that she sees on the debris, all while a datapad laid out in front of her with yet more data and notes on the ship, some notes on Anassan, and a picture. The picture seems to be of Amhesha, who looks roughly 14-ish, and a middle-aged shirren lady standing besides her in the bowels of a spaceship. In the picture, she's seen smiling incredibly wide, and both her and the shirren lady are standing in front of an absolutely sprawling disaster of a ship's internals behind her, which the other mechanic realizes looks incredibly chaotic for a ship's layout. In the center, there's a large chunk missing that looks like it could fit some kind of cross between an engine and... a sail? With makeshift diagrams setup of a new kind of planar engine scattered everywhere on the walls. "This... this feels like a trap. I just say we keep on going. "
"Yeah? I can still do my job effectively. Even coming at religion from a logical standpoint. I am a xenolinguist, and worship of Ydajisk is the best way to assure I get to continue my chosen career into the afterlife. Even with Pharasma's memory wipe. Even the scientist part of my brain knows that this is logically the best choice. I know 'this be science'. Have you seen me once rant and rave beyond a vague 'I hate slavery' until now? I'm not that zealous on the job as a mechanic and sniper."

Thing is, Amhesha wants it to happen. But there's a 0% chance it happens any time during the player's lifetimes since. Ya know. We're talking about the fate of the planes here.
Wonder how Zharis will react to one of Amhesha's core memories being a dream of Pulonis getting drawn into the Maelstrom.

For my f&$*ing fur pigmentation. It's what caused Pulonis to be put under the boot of your beloved Veskarium. It's what drives the Azlanti Star Empire." Amhesha grumbles in a hissing protean as she works the computers, temporarily taking the role of science officer despite being a mechanic by trade.
"You want to know how I knew this was the 'right path'? How I knew that even Elysium wouldn't fit me? The day I dreamed of Pulonis, and the entire system I was born on, getting encroached on and absorbed and torn apart into chaos by the great Cerulean Void. I didn't care about the lives lost. I didn't care about the destruction. Yet all I remember feeling from that dream was the most sublime joy I've ever experienced."
Amhesha laughs. "I'd rather spend a month trapped in f~*&ing Axis than have any romantic feelings for you, hell-dwarf." ------------------------------------ "Yeah.
