I would only value this at a -1, at -4 it just screams TAKE ME!! TAKE ME!! ![]()
![]() "Each oracle is cursed, but this curse comes with a benefit as well as a hindrance. This choice is made at 1st level, and once made, it cannot be changed. The oracle’s curse cannot be removed or dispelled without the aid of a deity. An oracle’s curse is based on her oracle level plus one for every two levels or Hit Dice other than oracle." To me that seems to imply you get the spells but not the ability to cast them, although it doesnt specify that they go to the oracles spell list so there is wiggle room for adding them to a different class (unless ive missed something) ![]()

We are a group of 4 18th level chars + a Great Wyrm gold dragon, and we are up against 7 other Great Wyrm dragons of various colors. For this fight we get vary little prep time, its just like hey look there be dragons ...(2 rounds).. combat happens, to be fair though we have absolutly destroyed all his other encounters without to much trouble . Our last encounter was 2 CR20+ dragons and an awakened Dire Bear with levels in Barbarian (ECR 19). ![]()
![]() Yes it is overpowered but your best hope is to either ban it(worst option), get your players to self regulate(best option) or give creatures the deathward buff/Undead template/immune negative energy. In a campaign i currently play in one person has spell perfectioned it but he self regulates its use so it just doesnt just screw up the BBEG. ![]()
![]() My advice to you would be to drop those racial HD from the templates but keep him the 3 levels behind. The downside of templates is that you have less HD overall but make up for it in other ways. I had a character that was immune to fire once, but that didnt save him after he got wished in to the middle of the sun :( gravity > fire. ![]()

I think your missing his point (I very well could be aswell). He as said repeditivly throughout this thread that getting additional spells is purely OPTIONAL and up to the DM while it may be RAW it is still only optional. OT: IMO i think a Knowledge check is sufficent for wildshaping in to monsters with either a bonus or negative based on the backstory. If you pass the check then you know of the creature and if you don't then you don't know of the creature until you either meet it in the wild and find out what it can do, or your study it after hearing storys of it or talking to another druid who about their favourite wildshapes(or something along those lines). ![]()
![]() In my games i use both a critical hit chart and a critical miss chart. Some of the people i play with consider it somewhat extreme but they still like playing with it. Just last session when some premditated PvP happened our female barbarian insta killed the inquisitor With a confirmed critical you get to roll on a D100 table depending on the weapons type Bludgeoning, Piercing, slashing (rays will normally fall under Piercing) this can result in anything between a normal damage crit to removing limbs and instand deaths (Skull crushed, pierced heart ect) I have done my critical fumbles somewhat differently to the norm so it doesnt penalise those people who get more attacks or use a 3/4 BAB combat class as other systems would. When you fumble you can negate it by rolling under your level on a D20. Fumbles range from losing actions to breaking weapons and hitting/critting allys/yourself. |
