"Oh! No you didn't". Alfred takes a mighty backhanded swing at the bold creature, swinging around from over his shield, and overextending himself. 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24 AM distant sun
Male Human; AC 21, HP 23/29, PER +1, INIT +2 Fighter (Unbreakable) / 1 ; Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +1
Chuckling with glee at his last attack's results, Alfred once agains tries to bring havoc down upon his enemy. 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8 Morning Star
But obviously the amount of gore and flesh still stuck to the morningstar throws off his aim. I hereby give the GM permission to roll all Alfred's attack rolls :-).

It appears that I am smack dab in the middle of the hunting grounds of an angry Air Elemental named Irma, so if communication stops for a while be aware that I'm probably hiding in a hole somewhere, but will pop my head back out when it's safe.
Male Human; AC 21, HP 23/29, PER +1, INIT +2 Fighter (Unbreakable) / 1 ; Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +1
"Whoa ho. You're a slippery one are you not. Should have negotiated rather than attack. You've made me quite angry now. Your crossbow bolts have left blemishes on my shiny shield". 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16 Ball with spikes
Male Human; AC 21, HP 23/29, PER +1, INIT +2 Fighter (Unbreakable) / 1 ; Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +1
Sorry about the blocking guys. I'll get out of the way in a minute. Alfred also move in, swinging his morningstar at the beast attacking Uldir... or the other one if that one is down. 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20 Star of the Morning 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8 Star burn
Male Human; AC 21, HP 23/29, PER +1, INIT +2 Fighter (Unbreakable) / 1 ; Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +1
Alfred moves into position to dash into the room if necessary, his new toy held with appreciation as to it's effectiveness. Hmm. Now that I've become accustomed to it's weight, this weapon feels most effective.
Male Human; AC 21, HP 23/29, PER +1, INIT +2 Fighter (Unbreakable) / 1 ; Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +1
Determined to end this quickly, before more enemies join the fray, Alfred steps around to flank the foe he just injured, and swings again. 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18 Morningstar of fury (+2 if flanking achieved)
Male Human; AC 21, HP 23/29, PER +1, INIT +2 Fighter (Unbreakable) / 1 ; Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +1
"Suit yourself then. I didn't sign up for this, and especially not as a pre-school, or a prison. Sometimes you have to do distasteful things when you're trying to accomplish things. Remember when one of these scoundrels escapes his bonds and murders one of your friends, that it is on your conscious. You are the ones who must care for them, and hope they don't give out warnings. I've found the best captives are those that no longer require care". Alfred takes a step back and let's the fools continue there plan. I really don't have a problem with what you're doing, but Alfred is a Harsh man, with little compassion, and no patience for nonsense.
Male Human; AC 21, HP 23/29, PER +1, INIT +2 Fighter (Unbreakable) / 1 ; Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +1
"You are all soft. They are the enemy. I will kill them". Alfred grips his morning star and prepares to enter the room. "If you don't want to watch, or it is against your morals, I suggest you don't watch. Sometimes distasteful things must be done to defeat the greater evil. They have chosen who they lie with, so they will suffer the consequences".
Male Human; AC 21, HP 23/29, PER +1, INIT +2 Fighter (Unbreakable) / 1 ; Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +1
The fine morningstar he had received whistled as he swung it around to gain momentum before stepping forward and flanking one of the beasts. 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26 (Magical Morningstar, flanking) 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6 Bashing and sticking damage The lightness of the new weapon made his aim true, but he still needed to get used to transferring the weight of the weapon at the right time for inflicting maximum damage.
Male Human; AC 21, HP 23/29, PER +1, INIT +2 Fighter (Unbreakable) / 1 ; Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +1
1d10 ⇒ 10 I just can't resist rolling for anything. Woo! Hoo! My most popular house rule, that I've used since 1st edition is when rolling for HP you can roll (2) Dice and take the highest. Still leaves a chance to be real unlucky and roll two ones, but ups the odds that you'll get descent HP. I do the same thing with healing spells. It just sucks to me that you get a limited number of spells per day, and you blow them up with minimal healing. This second usage scales with the spell so for example Cure Serious is roll 4d8 and keep 3. Seems to be popular with my players, and has minimal effect on game balance.
Male Human; AC 21, HP 23/29, PER +1, INIT +2 Fighter (Unbreakable) / 1 ; Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +1
Alfred hoists the fine morning star in one hand and swings it around a bit. "A little light for my tastes, but it is a fine weapon. If nobody else wishes to make use of it, I'll hold on to it for now. Might as well get some use out of it, rather than have it set moldering in some chest". When the non-combatants insist on accompanying them. Suit yourselves, but that's a foolish plan. I'll not be able to fight efficiently if I'm always worried about one of you getting injured or killed. So if you decide to come along it's on you. Every battle requires weapon fodder".
Male Human; AC 21, HP 23/29, PER +1, INIT +2 Fighter (Unbreakable) / 1 ; Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +1
"I'm a much better anchor than I am a Jumper. Especially in this armor. If you can think of a way to get me over there, I could hold a rope while everyone else crosses. That's about the best I can offer right now". Alfred walks over to the chasm, and peers over. He then kicks a rock into the chasm to try and determine it's depth. "Say... is there anything on the other side that a rope could be looped around, then flown back"?
Male Human; AC 21, HP 23/29, PER +1, INIT +2 Fighter (Unbreakable) / 1 ; Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +1
Alfred stands and winces holding his back at the effort he had put into moving the stone. He listens to the interchange with interest but little input, eager to see if these guys know the way back topside.
Male Human; AC 21, HP 23/29, PER +1, INIT +2 Fighter (Unbreakable) / 1 ; Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +1
Empathizing with the plight of the others, Alfred begins to stretch and swing his bad shoulder around to loosen it up. "Well let's see if I can get a good grip on this thing. Anybody want to help"? 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21 STR check
Male Human; AC 21, HP 23/29, PER +1, INIT +2 Fighter (Unbreakable) / 1 ; Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +1
Alfred takes a deep breath, as his headache has dulled to a slight ache, which he spent most of his adult life enduring. He snorts a bit at Uldir's struggles, and begins testing the handholds, and pulling himself up. "Good luck with that". he wryly chuckles. I'll be on a week long business trip, but should still be able to post from the hotel. Don't let me hold things up if not however, and feel free to DMPC my character.
Male Human; AC 21, HP 23/29, PER +1, INIT +2 Fighter (Unbreakable) / 1 ; Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +1
"Easy for you to say. You're not the one he knocked out, and I'm sure he would have cut any or our throats if he had the chance... but he's your responsibility now. Don't look for me to jump in the way of any blade headed in his direction however". Alfred sulking, heads to somewhere to sit down and rubs his temples attempting to assuage his headache.
Male Human; AC 21, HP 23/29, PER +1, INIT +2 Fighter (Unbreakable) / 1 ; Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +1
Alfred awakens from his magic imposed slumber with a splitting headache and in a terrible mood. He shakes his head as the others debate what to do with their murderous captive. "His magic seems to be his strength. I'm all for bashing in his skull in return for the headache he gave to me, but cutting out his tongue so that he can't utter his dastardly spells would suffice". He lurches to his feet with a groan, and stumbles a bit with the last effects of the colorful motes of light still lingering in his head. "Anybody got a knife I can borrow. Don't really care if it's sharp or not".
Male Human; AC 21, HP 23/29, PER +1, INIT +2 Fighter (Unbreakable) / 1 ; Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +1
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10 Will Save Alfred looks around at the arrival of the new threat, and just as he starts in that direction, his vision is assaulted by a plethora of twirling, twisting light. "Ah! What are you doing"!
Male Human; AC 21, HP 23/29, PER +1, INIT +2 Fighter (Unbreakable) / 1 ; Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +1
Sorry, for some reason I thought the enemy was withdrawing from combat, and was wondering why we were still attacking them. 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14 Light Flail
With a grunt and a burst of speed Alfred closes the gap to attack one of the ones surrounding Arriana.
Male Human; AC 21, HP 23/29, PER +1, INIT +2 Fighter (Unbreakable) / 1 ; Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +1
"It's dark. I don't know where clear of the creatures darkness is"! 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11 Flailing around the shield in darkness. 1d100 ⇒ 8 (High is good) miss chance 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 I think I hit something? Alfred flails around at his now concealed attackers, then backs towards where he thinks a wall is. His intention is to find a wall, and stay against it moving till he can see again.
Male Human; AC 21, HP 23/29, PER +1, INIT +2 Fighter (Unbreakable) / 1 ; Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +1
Alfred sees the movement out of the corner of his eye and is able to bring up his shield to interpose it between the monster and his body. "Ha! Nice trick... but not nice enough". 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16 Flailing around the shield 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 Swatting pests
Male Human; AC 21, HP 23/29, PER +1, INIT +2 Fighter (Unbreakable) / 1 ; Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +1
Alfred takes in the banter between the others with a silent scowl. Ain't it funny how a little stress and challenge brings out the best in people... or the beast. He finds a rock to sit on and wait out the tirade, cleaning his nails with a piece of wood splinter, and rising to his feet with a groan as the group heads out. Taking his place near the front of the line, where his strong shield, and wicked flail can work their magic.
Male Human; AC 21, HP 23/29, PER +1, INIT +2 Fighter (Unbreakable) / 1 ; Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +1
Alfred stands and watches the three childen frolic about. Well we should be safe for a while. That caterwaul should scare off the most vicious of beasts... though I would have opted for silence. I'll be on a business trip this week, so posting may be spotty. Feel free to DMPC my character to help move things along.
Male Human; AC 21, HP 23/29, PER +1, INIT +2 Fighter (Unbreakable) / 1 ; Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +1
Alfred who had been busy picking pieces of undead from his flail, looks up at Uldir's request. "As long as it doesn't require silly prancing around naked or wearing silly outfits I'll help". He does his best to follow Uldir's instructions without being to fancy. 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (20) - 1 = 19 Perform oratory... and surprisingly the words come easily to his lips and he performs them almost as well as the experienced Dwarf. Hmm. Is it possible for a human to be a servant of a Dwarven god???
Male Human; AC 21, HP 23/29, PER +1, INIT +2 Fighter (Unbreakable) / 1 ; Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +1
Readied Action
round 1
At the look in Iolaire's eyes, and the sudden stench, Alfred leaps into action, swinging at the foul creature even as it rises, then attempts to catch it on the backswing as well. "Evil. It is evil incarnate! Ware"!
