Alex grimaces as she pulls an amulet from beneath her armor and pulls it, hard, breaking the chain. She lets the chain slither through her fingers as she intones, "Mighty Set, Lord of Storms, Slayer of Apep, No power May stand before you. I ask for your aid, I give myself to your service. I am your bow and spear."

There is a moment, and then her mouth opens in a scream. The scream pouring from her mouth turns into the howl of desert winds. Sand pours from her mouth in a seemingly endless cloud. Her skin peels away, leaving behind but sand, and then even that form dissolves into the sandstorm.

It isn't hard to see the doubt on Alex's face. "That part of me...I'm not sure what will happen if I open myself up to that power. You may end up having to pull me back or put me down. Don't let me become a monster..."

Mayor Summers is a few miles away at City Hall, but it is easy enough to get the attention of the other three.

Almost before Max unleashes his magical beacon to attract the League members, Johnny Rocket is right in front of him. The speedster wears a red costume with yellow accents and a pair of goggles. "Hey there, Eldritch, right? I think we have the whole Tom Cypress situation under control, but thanks for the assist."

If you know anything about heroes or pop culture, you know that Johnny Rocket is a member of the Freedom League with a public identity. He is married to a paramedic named Chris and the two of them have an adopted daughter.

"Why?! How else would I be able to maintain my Sand Castle and pay all of these goons?"

@ST: Plans for the game sound stellar and I'm keen to remain part of them.

Alas it'll not be with the Prof and Eoten - feel like I need to draw a line and think afresh for my own sanity as much as anything lol.

On the subject of a new character - am mulling an idea, but might need to work it in with Max, or the Nexus. Concept is a squat golem - Homunculus essentially still a brick (albeit a clay one), who has possibly been either created or animated by Max - maybe created by a Master Mage but never given the "spark of life"?

If he was created by Max (perhaps through flexing his growing arcane power) I'd like to build in a Complication that he cannot attack or harm his creator (so should Max be possessed or some such the Homunculus would also be negated... but would endeavour to free its creator/animator).

"Munc" would be golemesque in his array, but short and squat. Have some other fun ideas that might also work in (if my points array adds up). I'll get cracking on a build so I can join soonest.

Any thoughts/input would be greatly appreciated :)

Concept sounds fine to me. There are a few alchemist characters (2 who could show up in this scenario potentially) that you could be tied to if Max doesn't want to go that direction.

Could easily just be something Adrian was working on who they stumble on in the Nexus, or could come over from the Netherworld through your connections with Lady Seven.

"Don't know much about that. Never made it much past Hercules and Daedalus when it came to mythology, and that's cause I've fought both of them. I don't guess either of them is the real deal, but this Seth thing seems like the real deal, or at least like some kinda real deal."

"I'm not sure it's a good idea, Max. It isn't Vhoka made me like this. And whatever it is was fighting for me in there. This Seth thing. It has plans for me, I think. And I owe it. I mean, you pulled me out, but I wouldn't have even still been myself. I think if you try to use Vhoka's blood to give me a body again, we will have a fight on our hands."
