"Oh I see. So, hic...Mr...hic...Firdall, what say you and I have some fun tonight? Just you and me. I would love to see how...hic...you're...hic...people...express love...and...hic...affection..the native...way...hic! I must say...you have...hic...have beautiful fur! Why it is...so...breath-taking...hic and attractive...I'm surprised you don't have a horde of women....hic...coming after you...hic...you!"
Uh-oh! She's drunk!
Alesta was clearly drunk. In the morning, she was going to have one heck of a hangover.
Hope y'all don't mind if I got my character drunk! And sorry Firdall if she was coming on too strong. She's drunk.
Alesha talked to Firdall about what his life was like in his village as well as what he liked and what did he do for fun. The aasimar found the catfolk to be quite....charming. She felt sorry for how he had to run away from his home.
She did her best not to drink since she always had a bit of trouble holding her alcohol but she was getting a bit tipsy.
"So tell me Firdall, what do you look for in a woman?"
Uh oh. Alesta + Alochol + Finding someone charming and attractive = A good bit of flirting about to take place!
Hope you don't mind Firdall that Alesta finds you attractive. I hope you don't mind her flirting with you.
My posting rate has actually slowed down a great deal because of work and the holidays. So, if I don't post, then please bot me. I'm posting this to all of my games I'm in, just to let people know. Sorry about this.
"If you don't mind Mr. Firdall, I was curious to learn more about you. I must confess that I haven't many catfolk in my travels. So, I was wondering if you could tell me about yourself," the feather haired aasimar archaeologist said to the catfolk.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news everyone, but my iPhone is acting up, so I'm trying to get it fixed (could be a software issue, or worse the battery is messed up). This will impact my posting rate some, but I'll still try and post as often as I can from my laptop before work.
So, keep y'all's fingers crossed. And I apologize about this. I'm concerned that my phone got messed up during the hurricane when I had numerous power surges prior to losing power when Matthews came through.
Okay....
Crisis averted! After looking online, I found that sometimes if you let your iPhone's battery drain to 0% (which you're supposed to do occasionally), the battery may not have enough juice to charge back up. According to what I found online, simply using a blow dryer to warm the phone up enough for say 5-10 minutes and then immediately plug your iphone into a charger, the iPhone starts right back up. Phew! Glad that's over.
I hope I didn't scare anyone. No I'm not leaving (I'm having way too much fun with y'all in this adventure!).
So I've been looking for a new job (I still have a job, just trying to find one that pays a bit more and is closer to home), and I've been doing it on my iPhone. The problem is that I forgot to take into account that I'm on my parents' data plan and I forgot to keep an eye on how much data I was using. Long story short, I used up a lot of data. So, we have 8 days left in the billing cycle before our data usage resets.
While this will reduce my posting rate a bit, I'm going to try and keep on posting on my laptop before and after work if possible. I just wanted to let everyone know about this and I apologize for any inconveniences this may cause.
Hmm, I'd like to propose a time limit for responses in combat. Maybe 3 days or so? Otherwise things are going to drag too much. If you miss your opportunity, you are considered delaying until you post, which resets your initiative?
What do others think?
I like that idea actually. I'm really liking this campaign so I don't want to see it die.
Alesta was a bit surprised by the half orc's reply:
"Well yes there are stargazers among our people. I also look up at the stars as well wondering what the peoples of long gone ancient civilizations must have thought when they looked up at the night sky. Did they revere the stars, or did they dread the night and prayed for the coming dawn? Were any certain stars highly revered above all others? So many questions about ancient civilizations," the aasimar said with a smile on her face.
When someone spoke up about Desna and the Mother of Monsters Alesta replied, "It's not just Desna who despises that foul goddess, but the empyreal lords also oppose her as well. Zohls, Eritrice, and Irez, empyreal lords who I believe watch over archaeologists and scholars greatly oppose her but all of the empyreal lords oppose all of the evil deities, aiding good deities like Desna in protecting and safeguarding us from the forces of evil and darkness."
Blushing a bit after that speech, no sooner had she sat down but the nobleman they had saved arrived. She smiled at Aldern Foxglove but she was surprised by the fact that the bag of coins given to her was made of silk.
"This is very nice of you to do this Lord Foxglove but really just knowing that you're safe is reward enough. And I'll have to ask my companions if they are willing to accompany you on this venture."
Alesta was quite impressed by the half-orc's words. Despite his tribal upbringing, Ahdak was very wise and knowledgable about things that the aasimar didn't possess. This made her curious about him.
"Oh I see. A very interesting belief and ideals, Mister...I mean Ahdak. Are your tattoos part of being a Shoanti as well? And what was it like for you growing up? And are you an avid stargazer?"
The aasimar had once again forgotten herself and began rambling on with numerous other questions as the group walked, like what was his favorite constellation, did he mediate under the stars often, how often did he exercise, did he exercise while mediating under the stars, who did he study under, what was his training like, etc.
Mustering her courage, she asked him, "Ahdak...um I mean Mr. Ahdak Speaks-With-Stars? Is tracking a necessary skill amongst the Shoanti? I apologize if it is a stupid question to ask..."
The aasimar blushed a bit, embarrassed with putting herself on the spot.
Alesta nodded and told the group she had already heard about the town's Late Unpleasantness.
"I'm sorry to hear once again about the town's tragic past. So many innocents destroyed by evil. I hope the empyreal lords watch over this town. I know that the empyreal lords are not really worshipped in Sandpoint, as I haven't seen any shrines dedicated to them since I got here, but I hope you accept their blessings and graces Father Zantus. But tell me, where did the fire originate? Could some sort of evil...person have caused all of this?"
The aasimar archaeologist awaited the priest's answers as she prepared herself to explain the empyreal lords the best she could to those around her.
Alesta watched as the half-orc says a prayer to the departed souls that were forced to become undead. The aasimar was curious about the Shoanti's ways. But first she said her own prayer asking the empyreal lord Zohls to aid in the passing of the departed.
Alesta was a bit taken back by the discovery of the theft of the remains of Father Tobyn.
"Odd for goblins to a priest's remains. Were his adopted daughter's remains taken as well? And I'm sorry that such a terrible evil was committed today. It would seem that so many evils were done against the good people of Sandpoint. I pray that the grace of Zohls aids Sandpoint in recovering and I'll do what I can to help if you're willing to let me."
Alesta followed close behind the others. In her studies and journeys she had always had a keen eye for traps and pitfalls. So it was best to keep a close eye out for such things and other dangers.
Perception:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
As she looked around, the aasimar cast a simple spell, whistling a tune before blowing across her opened palm. While there was nothing in her hand, rainbow colored wisps of air flew from hand and began seeking any signs of magic no matter how faint.
She used detect magic to check for any magical traps or spell residues
Alesta nodded to the nobleman, although she wondered why his eyes lingered on her for a lot longer than the others. Pushing it aside, she turned back to the others as well as the people of Sandpoint.
She followed close to her fellow adventurers and she was amazed by the countless thanks by the townsfolk.
"You're quite welcome. I'm just glad we were able to help protect your town."
"Thank you and may the Empyreal Lady Zohls bless you as well," the feather-headed aasimar said.
She watched the interrogation of the goblins while putting the pieces together. She was curious as to why the goblins had attacked the town.
When the goblin said boneyard and Mopeyman, she started to see the pieces connecting with one another!
"If I'm not mistaken, I think when this goblin says 'boneyard,' he might be speaking of Sandpoint's graveyard or cemetery. And also, someone, probably not a goblin was the mastermind of this atrocious attack. Not sure about that one actually since Mopeyman might be a common goblin name."
The archaeologist hoped she had overstepped herself in helping with the interrogation.
"You're welcome, good sir Lord Foxglove," Alesta says in her melodic beautiful voice.
"Again, I'm deeply sorry for the loss of your beloved dog. I'm glad that I was able to divert the goblins' attention away from you as long as I could. My name is Alesta, and I'll be staying at the Rusty Dragon as well."
Alesta quickly ask Foxglove in her melodic voice, "Are you alright sir? I'm sorry about your dog. I tried to lure the goblins away before they killed your pet. I wish I had done more to save him."
Turning back to the battle, Alesta cast another daze spell this time at the goblin dog Karl was fighting with.
Yeah I know oh well. At least I got the goblins off of that nobleman for a while though. I guess that counts for something right?
Stop the bleeding Please! Fortitude:1d20 ⇒ 11T.T
Can't catch a break it seems. :(
Alesta lays on the ground, her blood continuing to stain her body, clothes, and the ground. If one were to listen closely it would seem that the very dirt and plants were weeping at the sight of the aasimar's upcoming demise.
So much for her being a hero. Well at least she did save that family from the burning tent and healed a few injured citizens and got those goblins away from the nobleman so at least she's a tragic hero I guess.
Sorry to see you go GM but I understand. I wish you good luck!
And thank you for the great adventure too. I had a lot of fun!
About Gent
Gent Hennade
Gent grew up on the streets an orphan from a fire. Never the most physically aggressive, Gent relied on his wits. Gent loves being outside. He grew up on the streets doing what street urchins do to survive. One day he came across Aldan, a guard at a temple, who didn't beat him and turn him over to the city guard. He took Gent in and showed him a kindness that he hadn't seen too often before. Gent reformed and became an acolyte devoting himself to the temple. He still had a curiosity that got him into trouble. Later in life that curiosity helped fuel his intelligence and desire to learn. He found he was quiet good harnessing the divine magics. He also learned he had a gift for languages and writing. He went into the world a bit naive, tripping occasionally on the way. Several years went by and Gent grew physically and spiritually.
Atroa saw something in the young man that drew her interest. Atroa gave Gent visions as guidance and he kept to the path she wanted for him. During one quest for a rare book, he encountered a long dead baron's ruined keep which was the current resting place for a tribe of giants. The giants had people as prisoners and slaves. Gent was able to get some sturdy soldiers and adventurers to rescue the people and drive out the giants. It went better than he thought it would and he also made a good friend in Tevin, a dwarven monk acolyte of Zuoken. Tevin and his younger sister were among those rescued. Tevin's family gave Gent a very fine battleaxe to thank him. Gent also befriended a beautiful falcon, named Enteri. Atroa has asked Enteri to accompany Gent on his journeys. Together the three of them do what they can to help those in need and find time to listen to good music and tales.
At first glance:
The colors he wears are earthen colors, deep reds, rich oranges and browns, with bits of yellow/light browns and greens. He wars a leather wide brimmed hat, made of a patchwork pieces of leather. It hangs from his belt when not in use.
He seems to almost bump into things and every once in a while actually does. He has an out-going good manner towards people. He enjoys music and tales, any music and any tales. He has a beautiful golden, rusty red feathered falcon with him.
With a careful look:
Despite he awkward stance he is always watching his surroundings.
The back of his right forearm has an old scar, most likely from a fire.
If you see him working on a manuscript or reading a book, do not be offended if he doesn't hear you the first couple of times you try to get his attention. Or the third or forth time...
