You follow Alain Turick into the room and the door closes. There are several chairs around a small table and he gestures for you to sit down. Then he stops moving and a partially-transparent figure seems to step forward out of him.

With no new information in hand, Alain Turick accepts the amulet and pockets it.

Alain Turick shrugs slightly. "An attempt was made to kidnap me. Cultists made it into my quarters and cast a spell. I barely was able to resist and dispatched them speedily. As for this amulet, you know more about it than I do."

One of you can go purchase some holy water at normal price. You'll have to step out for ~30 minutes.

The champion chuckles and shakes his head at your vigilance. "Excellent. Let the tea be made. Do you have the holy water? Who will make the tea?" He turns to Horat and rubs his chin thoughtfully. "As I recall, you volunteered your services to help fight the demonic threat. In turn, I expressed some skepticism, saying it is unusual for the watch to employ and thus endanger civilians."

Does anyone have tea, a tea kit, or holy water?

The champion raises an eyebrow. "It seems you have been through difficult times. I am unsure how I can reassure you but would be willing to do so, m'lady." He inclines his head respectfully. "Captain Halgrin and Mr. Horat can no doubt confirm my appearance is correct. I would be happy to demonstrate one of my rumored fighting styles if a volunteer would step forward. Or perhaps you can ask something that only I would know?"

That might require Horat looking back at how he and/or Halgrin have interacted with the champion in the past.

As a recap, the shared vision told you that Turick is a lodestone and how to find the amulet in Chult that would protect him from the demonic forces. Halgrin told him this in private (spoilered so I don't remember whether or not you know this) that this was your mission.

You show up at the city watch, led by Halgrin, a watch captain. After a little waiting, you are led to meet the champion. "Well? What news from Chult?"

Halgrin:

The champion conaiders your words carefully. "This is grave news indeed, sword. Thank you for alerting me. I will redouble my training and vigilance. If you must go to Chult, I appreciate that thw problem will be in good hands."

E, how is the antitoxin coming?

The Champion nods. "Of course. I recommend you see to that immediately. Contact an officer if there are further developments." Then he heads off to conduct other business.

You may split up to take a long rest now or do something else if you prefer.

Turick looks Katra over for a second time. "Two reasons, citizen. First, what I described is a very vague speculation of their location. Second, reports of this activity have just reached us. We haven't yet assembled a response in force."

Turick nods respectfully to acknowledge Katra's bow. "Well if you are certain of this, then the Watch will certainly welcome your investigations. Not many of us have dealt with cults before." He faintly touches a dark, discolored scar on his neck as he says his and sighs. "This cult of Yeenoghu is led by a gnoll from the wilds. I do not know his name. But his second in command is a citizen of Waterdeep, Albert Norwich. He was a watch-maker before he heard the demon lord's call. Their style has been to make bold, sudden night raids to take supplies and captives. They have a base of operations somewhere in the woods outside of Helm. I believe their forces include gnolls, humans, some wild beasts, and some giant-kin. But more than that will likely require you to investigate."

The head of the watch nods appreciatively. "Well then perhaps they'll be interested to know of more activity thought to be tied to demonic cultists? Seems a cult of Yeenoghu has been harassing, kidnapping, and killing folk on the outskirts of Waterdeep. In an area named Helm." He looks you up and down. "But you should probably rest a few days... Perhaps I should assign someone else to investigate."

The Champion of the Open Lord looks Horat up and down. "Hmmm... we'll see, citizen. But the Watch isn't in the habit of intentionally endangering civilians. Are you applying to become a watchman?"

"Luthar! Halgrin!" the Champion of the Open Lord calls out to you. "Sounds like you nabbed an entire cult! Well done, gentlemen!" He turns to Horat and Katra. "And who are these civilians?"
