Thx Critzible.
If you ever run an old school inspired Core only 5e game, I will be applying ;)
Merry Christmas!!
I would try my hand at it, but using only the Core Rules from the PHB and nothing more than that. Seems you guys are going for much more though (gestalt, xorw, Xanathar, and Tashas), so good luck with the game!
To remove someone from a game, you go to Campaign Info Tab, then you get a link to... 'Edit this Campaign' > Click on it > Scroll Down > you have checkboxes for characters and players > Uncheck the ones who are not in the game anymore. Done!
Hey Critzible, I think it was a good effort in trying to run this one, but I guess we lost momentum and now it is dead in the water :/
Most players are not posting anymore it seems, and you are understandably not moving the game forward. I get that of course.
So thank you for another attempt at running an old-school game (I have been with you in a few by now), but I guess these are fated to failure here on the Paizo forums.
I am officially bowing out, and hope to see you around the boards all. Take care!
"Extra time to set the camp sounds good!"
Ready to continue.
Solid!
@Critzible, are you keeping a tally of the XP?
"Sure, sounds good" - Akkramar nodded.
Akkramar goes to examine the wounds on the livestock.
Not sure how much he might know about vampire bats? Or even if they are something people know exist?
"That takes care of that" - Akkramar grunts, then moves to retrieve his daggers.
I guess we will continue with rest for the remaining of the night.
No Thanksgiving this side of the Atlantic, but hope you guys had a good time with family.
S$~+.
I am terribly sorry to hear that - my condolences to you and your family...

7 bats are gone in total
I'll remember for the future, since it is not relevant this time, as the bat is already dead :)

I think RoF or Daggers is 3/1?
[dice=Dagger 1]20-d20-2
[dice=Damage if it hits]d4+2+5
[dice=Dagger 2]20-d20-2
[dice=Damage if it hits]d4+2+5
[dice=Dagger 3]20-d20-2
[dice=Damage if it hits]d4+2+5
I did the THAC0 calculation in the formula already - they hit AC1, 4 and -2. Last one is a nat20, but I don't think there were criticals in 2e. Criticals are very much a thing roll. and 3 bats down Is it just double damage, or does it have a confirmation roll like PF1e?

Dagger 1: 20 - 1d20 - 2 ⇒ 20 - (17) - 2 = 1
Damage if it hits: 1d4 + 2 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 2 + 5 = 8
Dagger 2: 20 - 1d20 - 2 ⇒ 20 - (14) - 2 = 4
Damage if it hits: 1d4 + 2 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 5 = 11
Dagger 3: 20 - 1d20 - 2 ⇒ 20 - (20) - 2 = -2
Damage if it hits: 1d4 + 2 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 5 = 9

@Critzible: What rules are we using if firing into melee? Random targeting as per 2nd edition, correct?
Tommy Boyd wrote: Tommy has a 17 Dex, so that gives us a -3 to our initiative roll. As I doubt any of us have a -8 modifier, the bats are going first...or rather, they already did, since they attacked the animals. The round they started attacking Tommy acted - waking up Akkramar and Bharaz. Did the bats continue to attack the animals or have they not acted yet for the 'current' round? I am almost 100% sure a 17 means only -2 to Init when playing 2e.
@Critzible: Are we using Standard Initiative or Optional Modifiers, like Weapon Speed etc? Or only Dex modifier?
If only Dex Reaction Modifier, I have a +2, which I guess means -2 on Init?
Akkramar jumps to his feet - "I'm awake!"
He draws his blades, and prepares for a fight!
@Critzible, are we in Combat rounds, initiative and all?
Akkrammar will spend his watch in hiding.
Camping and watching it is - Akkramar can do any watch.
I am good to go, but the others are pretty quiet it seems.
Akkramar packs his morsels, and is ready to continue their trip.

Ok, understood. No barge ride this time then :)
@Critzible: Dahmer here is not heading to the quarry right now, right? I was wondering if we could hitch a ride.
Akkramar smiles back at the girl, then turns to her father - "Yes please, let's have it wrapped"
"So Aldorf would be the person we should contact, if willing to lend our help?" - he continued.
Homefront is the main front - make sure to keep that one running smooth :)
"Do you have some belly or tenderloin?" - Akkramar asks regarding the salted pork, as his companions debate the current goings on in the quarry.
Akkramar peers at the salted pork with curiosity while they wait for a reply.
"Well met master merchant" - the dwarf nodded - "I am Akkramar, and these are my traveling companions - have you news from the quarry?"

Forgot Survival vs 15: 1d20 ⇒ 15
Direction Sense vs 16: 1d20 ⇒ 8
Do we apply the ability modifier? Can’t remember, but I don’t think so?
I feel like two hirelings for each one of us when traveling to the quarry seems a bit overkill? :) But I am good with it, to keep things moving.
Camp for lunch of course!
Maybe get some fresh fish - I hear we have an expert cook among us ;)
Critzible wrote: I will assume River route is the path okay!! I will have a post tonight or Tomorrow about the path you will take. Also for Fandom Encounters, I like one for the Day, If you stop to Rest at Midday, and then at night per watch. Not all are combat related.
Figured a good percentile roll for the day, and at night. With a following d10 or d20 roll
Akkramar has a pretty decent Survival and Direction Sense, so hopefully he can work as a guide of sorts? Or such is my hope :)
"My first instinct is to use the road, even if it is sparsely traveled" - Akkramar suggests - "Otherwise the riverside is also an option, hopefully easy enough to follow, and an endless supply of fresh water"
I think the quarry gathers a consensus, so lets get moving to our plot, get settled, and then check the quarry.
Why have we lost Gloin?
He posted just yesterday, did he not?
"Deal" - Akkramar raises his mug.
After we've settled, I vote for checking the kobolds or the quarry.
"Works for me" - Akkramar chuckled.
"Should we then register as an Adventuring Company in case we want to investigate any of these events, and make way to the lot we should be assigned to?"
Basically I am ready to go, and I think I will make a list of rumors, so we can keep track?
Akkramar took a slow pull from his mug before speaking - “No kobolds or glory in what I heard. A new city’s going up on the coast. But the quarry that feeds half the work around here? Trouble. Projects are stalling.”
He set the mug down with a dull thud - “Stone dries up, so does coin. Could be a problem—or an opening, if we’re smart.”
Info Gathering: 1d10 ⇒ 3
Akkramar claimed a seat, setting his pack down with a grunt. He raised two fingers for an ale, then glanced at the scarred dwarf and his partner.
“Quiet place you’ve got here,” he said, half a smile tugging his beard. “Must take some work to keep it that way.”
Hope so! ;)
Think we are ready to move to the tavern.
I am also ok with handwaving the tavern RP, and just do some rumor gathering rolls and keep going toward our destination straight away.
”An ale at Falcon’s cannot hurt, surely?” - he nods at his companions.
