Aiden's jaw drops. There is no prophecy? That was the one thing keeping me going..." This place is so different. I could DIE here, have no way of going home, and no guide... "Yalm told us that by defeating Xivasar, we would open a portal home. That's not true either is it? Of course it's not..." A tear of stress rolls down Aidens set jaw line. "Do or do not. There is no try." Aiden chuckles half-heatedly. "I will succeed. I have no other choice."

"This is quite the gift. Thank you. I really must apologize. I do not mean to be rude, nor do I refuse your friendship. I guess it is in part our newness to this land, our percieved importance, and the fact that we have endured many attempts on our lives in the short time we've been here that I am so mistrusting. Please accept my sincere apology." Aiden inclines his head to the shaman.

Aiden makes a mental note of the trip up, hoping he can remember all the turns were they to need a quick getaway. Upon reaching the Oracle's hut, Aiden enters solemnly and sits. "Greetings Savelok. I am Aiden Frost and where I am from I am considered too young for an occupation. My days were spent in scholastic study." Aiden is trying to sound intelligent as well as remain somewhat ambiguous. He continues talking so that he might have an excuse to decline the tea. "I am curious as to what fascination my friends and I hold for you that you would honor us with an audience?"

Aiden nods his thanks to Kershak and the medicine lizard. At the opportunity to meet the shaman, Aiden whispers to Dunnley, "If we don't come back in 2 hours, come save us." Aiden takes Adina by the hand, if she allows it, and follows Kershak. He is clearly fearful of meeting the shaman on their own.

"Is cosúil go siad ach amháin in ann a thuiscint agus bagairtí foréigin. Táim brón orm, bhí mé ag iarraidh chun cabhrú leat. Tá mé tinn ar a suaimhneas anseo. Táimid ag undefended san áit seo, agus na tíre go bhfuil an chuid is mó seans maith le cumhacht obelisks na ndaoine a bhíonn againn go fóill. Tá mé buartha go mbeidh muid a ghabháil." Frank:
"They seem only able to understand threats and violence. I am sorry, I was trying to help. I am ill at ease here. We are undefended in this place, and these folk are the most prone to the obelisk's power of those we have yet encountered. I am worried that we will be captured." After speaking to Frank, Aiden goes to Leorn's side, unable to help, Aiden tries be be a comfort and a defender.

Aiden smiles at Jen's gentle berating of their allies. When she kneels, he squares off against Dunnely, pistol muzzle on his breast. "If you choose to fight, it will go poorly for you. I am the lord of fire and so your gun cannot harm me. Instead, that ball of lead will penetrate your racist skull if you foolishly pull the trigger." Intimidate 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22

Aiden plods miserably alongside Leorn until the reach the Lizardfolk city at last. The red sorcerer's heart falls to see such an extensive network of tree houses and biways. Escape from this place will be nearly impossible should the need arise. Aiden forces a smile. "You home is lovely Kershak. Is there someplace we might refresh ourselve before meeting with you Shaman?"

"Truly it's a welcomed assurence at least? The Relves cannot easily betray us now right? Dunnley, no one doubts your grit, and it is readily apparent that you are an honorable dwarf, I have to ask you to rise above petty disagreements for the sake of your kin and country. I do no expect it will be easy, but I will help you and yours insofar as I am able." "I hope you do not find me rude or imprudent. I speak from necessity and I would never wish to damage pride or honor. I just have a unique perspective of this situation and a great desire to see your nation whole again."

Aiden takes a seat near Dunnley. "Thanks for the assertive action against Drethrum. So far your company has proven most needed." Aiden pauses awkwardly for a moment. "If I may, what is the source of tension between your kin and these other races? I feel that if I can understand where everyone is coming from, I will be able to help us all get along."

"Of course Frank. Solidarity amoung our allies is of the utmost importance right now."

Once the meal is finished, Aiden addresses the group. "I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your aid. I know that we could not hope to succeed without it. Clearly, you are all noble patriots and though we all have our differences, I commend your ability to lay them aside for the greater good. I hope one day that such fine warriors as yourselves can be as proud to stand with us as we are to stand with you." Later on, Aiden seeks an opportunity to speak to Adina alone. "I'm sorry we haven't had much chance to talk lately. How are you holding up?"
Male Human Gestalt 1 (Knife Master Rogue/Sorcerer)
Aiden gives an apologetic bow to the lord mayor and exits. A satisfied smile beams on his face as he makes his way back to the in to tell Leorn. "Leorn! We have armed men willing to travel with us. Battlemaster Dunnely Brogan and his team will be waiting for us by the east gate." Aiden stands waiting for Leorn's reply.

Aiden places his hand on Leorn's shoulder for a moment. "I'll be back in a bit with our escort." Aiden walks determinately from the inn and straight to the town hall. He asks entrance and requests to speak to the man in charge. When, and if, admitted: "Listen, I know you must be having a hell of a time as a leader in these dark times. I may not be from your world, but I feel for it. I'm from a place called Ireland. It's a small island far in the north of my world. For centuries people have tried to claim it as their own, but we resisted and we never gave up hope." Aiden looks directly into the dwarf's eyes. "I will not give up on you. I am a sorcerer of Kellmanor and I will fight until my last breath for your lands as though they were my own. Xivasar holds no power over me and he will not hold power over your people so long as I draw breath to stop him. Will you help defend your homeland? Isn't freedom from oppression worth any cost? Please, send some of your men with me, and together we will see light shine in the darkness." Aiden holds out his hand to clasp forearms with the dwarf. Diplomacy 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24

Shanosuke: "Hang on Stan. I'll be right back." Aiden rushes outside and pulls Leorn aside for a moment. "I found a "Book of Necromancy." It looks like it could be helpful, but it feels sorta wrong to mess with the dead. Am I right or am I being naive?"
Male Human Gestalt 1 (Knife Master Rogue/Sorcerer)
I learned a bit from the governor. Apparently the prophecy is not as well believed in everyone as it was in Yalm. The dwarves were not aware of our role as saviours. The governor seemed reluctant to provide help." Aiden's face brightens a bit. "Look what I got though!" Aiden unrolls his new thieves tools. Hopefully masterwork, how much are they? With this extra time, can Leorn teach me double slice, or should I look for a trainer here?
Male Human Gestalt 1 (Knife Master Rogue/Sorcerer)
Shanosuke: Aiden draws himself up to full height at the mention of his name, but he says nothing. As he exits with Leorn: "Is there a chance he will betray us? If we sorcerers are important as Yalm said, wouldn't people jump at the chance to help us?"
Male Human Gestalt 1 (Knife Master Rogue/Sorcerer)
Just speaking in character here, please let me know if this is offensive and I will adjust. Screaming against the rush of air, Aiden questions Leorn. "What the f#$& is going on Leorn! Who are those and why did we leave Yalm!? He's our only shot! Right?"
