Agate will visit the Cybernetics shop talk with the surgeon who will do the work, to make sure he or she seems up to speed on the technology. Then she'll go under the knife and get the Core Electronics Package. Then she'll pick up the laser tools to aid in some of her invention work. Costs:
Which leaves her 500 credits. If she has to buy saddle and tack, that will probably use up the rest. Let me know any stats needed for the horse.

Are cybernetics available? If so Agate might be interested in the Core Electronics Package for 22,000. p. 114 of SW Rifts. It includes radio with 20 mile range. Do the elves have horses? (Not robot horses but real ones?) If so, what is the cost? She also might be interested in a Wilk's Portable Laser Torch (tool), p. 210, plus a spare E-clip or two. Also would consider the Laser wand and/or Laser Scalpel, assuming they might give a bonus at certain types of repair or construction of items.

Agate uses the time to learn what she can about how the elves use the modern technology and if they know how to infuse magic in with the tech as she sometimes does. She's not pushy if they are reluctant to discuss what they consider proprietary information, but she asks a lot of questions as long as they give friendly answers. Networking Roll if appropriate.

Agate would like some time to spend with the elves. We should also see if there is any job we could do for the elves, perhaps something trade related that would take us back to New Salt Lake. That way we could make money for both legs of the trip. I can't find anything about elves in the two SW RIFTS sourcebooks. What is common knowledge about elves that our PCs would know?

If Agate's translator gadget only works for the gargoyle's language but not the elves', she makes a second translator for the language of the elves. Techno-Wizardry: 1d10 ⇒ 4
She gets 5 uses of her techno-gadget ability per game session. She has used it 3 times. Let us know when we are starting a new session for the purposes of such refreshes.

I'm okay with all this, but if no cards are dealt as is usual for initiative order, then there is no opportunity for bonus bennies that come when a PC gets a joker. Maybe figure out the odds of that happening and make a percentile roll. Also, the PC who gets the joker gets a bonus on actions for the round. Maybe deal cards as usual just to determine if anyone got a joker and which PC gets the bonus. Also there are some edges that give benefits to the initiative as it is usually done, such as Quick, Calculating, Dead Shot, Level Headed, Mighty Blow, Tactician, or Power Surge. If anyone took any of those edges, they should get to choose something different.

Agate flips a switch on a device on her belt and a faint hum is heard. As she takes her energy rifle out, a faint glow appears on the weapon. As others take weapons in hand, the glow forms around them as well "That glow on your weapons is a little extra magical energy to better beat on this monster." Smite power added to whatever weapon each person has at hand. One weapon per PC. If you are not using a weapon, you don't get the effect. Techno-Wizardry: 1d10 ⇒ 9
That's a raise, so the bonus to damage is +4. PPE expended by Agate is 2 + 1 per additional weapon. If Burgurk is using only his powers, he won't need this.

Agate fiddles with a cryptic box attached to her belt, making a series of tweaks to various dials and switches on it. Techno-Wizardry: 1d10 ⇒ 3

After a moment's hesitation, she makes one last adjustment and it appears that dust begins to swirl around their hiding place. The sound of a windstorm accompanies the effect. All in hiding can pretty quickly tell this is just an illusion as they don't feel any dust hitting their skin or smell anything different. The swirling gradually grows into a dust devil that rises in between the group and the dragon, obscuring its view. The dragon should have a harder time detecting the group. Using Arcane Machinist ability to create on the spot a device that produces the effect of a power, illusion in this case. 6 pp to create an illusion, with sound, and extra hard to detect as an illusion (-2 to any roll to determine it is an illusion). Maximum size of the illusion is a Medium Blast Template, 8 yards in diameter.

Agate begins fiddling with her tools and gizmos. "I can make something that each of use could use to burrow underground, which should make us harder to detect. Or I could make something that would produce an illusion of something like a dust cloud to give us extra cover."

"Setting fires in the forest. Fires are helpful to the forest, and there are probably no people there. Still the area might be safer if we take it out." Do we have anything that links a dragon's type to it's predisposition to do good or evil? Are dragons generally intelligent?

In case Agate knows anything about dragons that might help. If only one roll is allowed, use the Occult, since that has the highest base die. After fixing the dragon in her imaging goggles to get a good look at its features, Agate moves with the others toward the rocks.

"Have you tried finding the rift you came through? If you cannot get back, we'd recommend you head that-a-way," and she points in the direction of New Salt Lake, "where you will find a city of sorts. Approach it in a non-threatening way and see if they can help. Or you can come with us and see if the elves of Cill Onchon can help."

I hope I don't offend anyone with this, particularly the GM, but I'm a bit frustrated with the pace of this game. I recommend reviewing the advice on good PBP by Painlord here. In particular, see section 4 (In-Game Management Stuff). The GM posts are mostly devoid of information and provide us with no "Push" to respond to. (Sections 4.2 through 4.2.5. We seem to have to keep asking the GM for information that usually gets provided as a matter of course with each GM post. I would encourage everyone to remember that we don't know anything about a situation unless there is text describing it. Descriptions are best when they provide sense data rather than interpretations: tell us what we see, hear, smell, feel. Rather than saying "Agate is frustrated," describe how Agate is acting that conveys the body language of someone who is frustrated. It also helps if people can post every day or let us know in the discussion thread when you have things going on in RL that may limit your posting, so the GM can 'bot the PC or at least know what to expect. I hope this helps. Sorry if anyone takes offense. It's just that we've been on this journey since the beginning of June (real time) and have only had a few encounters that mostly were people or creatures passing by without attacking or engaging us in any way. How about we take such things as normal for travelers and only role play encounters that involve either some risk, such as combat, or some profit in terms of social engagement, particularly something that advances the plot, draws us into something we need to accomplish besides delivering some rice.

"If you are confused as to where you are, you probably came through what we call a 'rift," Agate explains. "If you go back the way you came you may be able to return to your home. If not, you can try to make friends here, as long as you don't attack people who are not attacking you. Do you understand?"

I don't have access to my SW books, but I believe Agate can create a gadget that can utilize a power that allows instant translation (speak language?). Agate takes the translator from Frankie, fiddles with it with the help of a weird all purpose tool. Techno-Wizardry: 1d10 ⇒ 3
Spend a benny. Techno-Wizardry: 1d10 ⇒ 1
The translator now has 7 power points. Agate activates it using the number of PP needed for the speak language power. "Can you understand me?" she asks. "What is your name? Where are you from? Are you injured?"

Agate and Malachi both point at the boogie from the mountains. INCOMING! Agate yells and readies her JA-11, finding the potential threat in her multi-optic view finder. Multi-Optics Scope: An advanced scope with thermal, infrared, and night optics. When using an Aim maneuver, it adds an additional +2 to Notice checks or to offset Range penalties. It also negates Illumination penalties and adds +1 Shooting to calibrated weapons In case there is a chance to improve on what she noticed already with the aid of her scope:

Agate looks at the Keeper of the Desert through her goggles until they were too far to see clearly through the heat waves. "I've heard conflicting stories about them. Some say they are ruthless killers while others say they are misunderstood and unjustly persecuted. They didn't bother us so maybe their bad rep is undeserved."
