KInda a vague answer.. He basically just repeated the question back as an answer lol.. Without an actual designer answer ill leave it up to the GM on how he wants us to play that. I dont personally see any reason that they should be any different from normal intelligent items as far as that goes.. I mean they can make their own skill checks, why not cast there own spells?
Can you link where you saw that Ashe? Im unable to find it.. GM: Once the powerful Angel Zuzel, Agash was foolish and thought he could take on the entire Daemonic horde. The result for this action was 4000 years of torture and the slow transformation into what he is today.. Fool's Errand is a direct mockery of this and as such has a very unique method to destroy it. If the sword is ever clamied by an Angel and used to kill Agash, the weapon and the wielding Angel are immediately and utterly destroyed.. Of coarse the sword would attempt to circumvent it's destruction by dominating any angelic being attempting to do so.
New and improved sword.. Man is he pretty.. Fool's Errand: Legendary Sword(Minor Artifact) Alignment NE Senses 30' Intelligence 18, Wisdom 14, Charisma 10, Ego 28 Languages Speech (Celestial, Common, Daemonic, Draconic, Infernal) Intelligent(3), Foe-biting, Powerful, Undetectable, Legendary Power 4/4 Legendary Surge (1d8), Weapon Attack Rolls/CMB Spell Like Abilities(Cl 6th) Gallant Inspiration 3/3 Good Hope 3/3 Difficult to Destroy An artifact can't be destroyed by normal means. Though a minor artifact has hit points and can be broken, it can't be destroyed by taking additional hit point damage.
Fool's Errand is an intelligent +5 Adamantine Ghost Touch Falchion that was gifted to Agash by Szuriel, The Horseman of War. The weapon was a two fold gift for it was a mocking thing, every chance it got it would remind Agash of how foolish he was 4000 years ago. At the same time it would use this to help him stay on the path and not make the same mistakes again..
I understand about only having 5 points.. And Im totally gonna spend my next 2 points on making it a major artifact.. For now ill have to reduce it to just heroism and maybe a 1st level spell, unless we're allowed to store unspent points for a later date.. Edit: Indeed.. Just need to know if spell points can be saved if not spent? No rules can be found on this so it would be a GM call..
After reading further there's no 5th level spells atm, although the statment certainly leans towards higher than 2nd 3/day is possible, just only at higher tiers.. Spoiler:
Spellcasting: This item allows its bearer to cast a limited number of spells as spell-like abilities. This ability can be taken more than once. Each time it's taken, the bonded creature gains 5 points to spend on selecting what spells the item can cast. A spell costs a number of points equal to its level (minimum 1). The bearer can then activate the item to use each spell-like ability once per day. By spending double the cost, the bearer can use each spell-like ability three times per day. All spells must come from the same class's spell list. No spell can have a level higher than the bonded creature's tier. The caster level for these spells is equal to double the bonded creature's tier. The save DC for these spells is equal to 10 + the spell level + the bonded creature's tier. Emphasis Bold..
Was my first time doing a Legendary Item so im not surprised if something is wrong.. The way i understood it was by taking legendary you get 3 points to spend on the weapon.. 1 was spent on Undetectable
As far as stacking the point i just assumed you could use stack spellcasting.. After doing some research the boards seem to agree with this, although the question of can you save unspent points is up in the air.. I mean how many artifacts have you seen that have a level 2 cap on Sla's? None.. It dones't make sense that something that powerful would be stuck with having only 2nd.. I chose a 3rd and a 2nd 3/day, but i might need to reconsider 5th level spells 3/day.. So whats ur thoughts on this Leinathan? Can you stack spell points from taking Intelligence twice or more time? Can you save unspent spell points for the future if so?
#1 & #2:
As the Airship sails along suddenly everyone is alert ot a winged creature flying straight at their port side.. It appears to be moving in for an attack.. The ships defenses spur into action, firing dozens of projectiles at the thing in a matter of seconds, but none seem to find purchase.. Before they can be reloaded the creature lands hard on the deck, falling to one knee as it gains its balance.. Folding it's blackend wings behind it's back it stands and surveys the crew.. Everyone within 20' of the angel suddenly feels a very powerful protection spell wash over them.. "Do not be alarmed mortals.. If I were here to destroy you I would be well under way by now.. I am Agash, Fallen Angel and servitor of Szuriel and I'am here to offer my services of spell and blade to aid you in the relief efforts of others gold.. I offer my services at a discounted rate! I require only 75% of my share, the other 25% you may split amoung you.. Why do this? I have a rather important task to get underway and you alls ship will go along way to getting me started, for this I am willing to forfiet 25% of my earnings.. In addition this offering I can provided a multitude of divine spells from healing to divinations of treasure piles, as well as a mighty sharp blade.." You all here some muffled ranting from the scabbard across the angel's back.. #3: Outwardly he wants to help in the looting of every major bank/treasure hold in Golarion.. Inwardly he wants to do this to crush the monetary infrastructure of the region and create panic and eventually war.. War is very profitable as well so..
I intially only had 1 level, but herolab considered cleric as a 1/2 CR class for the Ghaele, so it took 2 levels to add the +1.. I can change that if you wish.. Any thoughts on the backstory? Edit: Ok made the changes and added the pirate paragraph.. Unless any other changes come about he is officially finsihed..
Ok a bit more tweaking done.. I think he's about finished besides a backstory, which i should have done tm.. As far as knowledge goes he wont be to handy, but he does have access to 8th level divine magic.. Surely there's something there that will repair things.. Ntm alot of heals/buffs for the entire crew.. He also has a +29 Fly check so he'll be great at the wheel of that thing if needed.. I wonder how a Firestorm spell reacts to an enemy ship.. Earthquake in mid air also sounds cool..
Yea im working on it.. I should have it finished by tm.. Next Mythic Teir he can add Foebiter to the weapon, which along with Powerful will allow a 300+ damage crit twice a day.. That along with plenty of Inflict Spell healing for the Vampire's, they should be happy.. The Swords purpose is two edged.. It was given to him to help create trouble, but at the same time single handly trying to beckon the end times is a "Fool's Errand", hence the name.. I figured to play it personality as bitter and constantly insulting failures, especially his lol.. |
