This character was briefly in a Reign of Winter that didn't quite make it to Irrisen. He's a scout/support caster and eventually going Arcane Archer. I can update him for your game if selected.


I have a character (this one) from a Reign of Winter game that died while we were level four. I can update him if he sounds like what you're looking for. He's headed for EK and Arcane Archer.

Adrian, careful to avoid the creature's claws, falls back to give Grimgisli room to retreat and fires and arrow at the mold.

Allowing the illusory flames to fade, Adrian takes a step out of the troll's reach and casts a coruscating ray of necromantic energies at the monstrous creature.

5-ft. step and casting ray of enfeeblement at the troll. I have low-light vision, so I get to treat the cave as bright light and don't have to worry about concealment, right?

Bow in hand, Adrian creeps into the cave ahead of the others as a cloak of shadows envelops him. He does not see the troll, but he does see a man covered in fungi matching Finngarth's description. Given the man's glassy eyes and slackjaw, Adrian suspects he will not be easy to extract stealthily and signals to the others to join him.

As the others arrive, they hear heavy footsteps behind them. Adrian quickly weaves the somatic components of a simple spell and, muttering a short incantation, vanishes from sight. "I'll go check it out," he whispers as he quietly makes his way back toward the cave's mouth.

Stealth: 1d20 + 11 + 20 ⇒ (7) + 11 + 20 = 38

Glad that log-in unpleasantness is finally over...

Anyway, Grandmother, it's probably a little late now, but I had planned to sneak into the cave ahead of the party if the tree didn't strike anyone as suspicious. In general, if a knowledge check or something doesn't give Adrian the impression that his opponent can see invisibility, he's pretty confident in his ability to avoid being caught and will use his cloak of shadows ability to scout ahead casting vanish if he needs to beat a hasty retreat.

But, yeah, Archives of Nethys always used the names printed and gave the lore. The reason d20pfsrd doesn't has something to do with their having their own shop from what I've read.

I almost responded, but Adrian doesn't consciously question the idea of slaying monsters. He's just aware that he could be judged by his ancestry, and that that's not quite fair, but he only recognizes the similarities deep down.

That is to say that, as long as no one is taking it personally, conflicts of character are interesting and can be entertaining.

I don't think we need to be too afraid of the survival rolls, though. Seriously.

Well, I was asking about hunting/foraging rolls because that and the bonus vs the elements slow down travel, and I'm not sure if the speed reductions stack. If so, we'd be better served with furs. If not, it doesn't matter.

idk if you'd rather we normally do this in the gameplay thread with ooc comments, but since i didn't have anything ic to add yet, i didn't want to clutter.

adrian's question would be regarding whether or not it shares the same vulnerabilities as its cousins. it would be quite unfortunate to find that this particular troll's regeneration isn't stopped by fire/acid and have nothing else prepared.

At the mention of his "friends," Adrian looks briefly confused. "Ah yes... 'Friends' may be a strong word. Not that they strike me as hostile or malicious, but we've only just met. Indeed, it feels as though our meeting here is... more than mere coincidence."

He pauses, momentarily lost in his thoughts, before adding, "Oh! but to answer your question, we had only just been apprised of the situation before you joined us, so I cannot speak for the others, however, I have never been one to shy away from hunting monsters."

Adrian's gray eyes narrow behind wisps of his inky black hair at the sight of the witch, but something inside him immediately recognizes a sort of kinship. When the others approach, it becomes rather obvious that, if nothing else, she's not like other the Jadwiga he's encountered.

Standing up straight and offering a pale hand to the large man, Adrian smiles a warm but tight-lipped smile. Despite having been inside near the warmth of the fire, though, his hand retains little heat—poor circulation probably. "Adrian Arsbeta," he says. Finding the perfect avatar is often difficult on the paizo boards. The one I chose was as the closest I found to the face I wanted. See the picture in my linked character sheet or any picture of Alex Row from Last Exile (though imagine him less dour) for a more accurate image.

actually, i didn't see the survival kit lol. probably because it was under kits, and i looked under tools. thanks! i already have the basic cold weather gear. i was just trying to make it as easy as possible for the group to pass all their checks.

okay, i believe i've cleaned up my backstory if you want to take a look, Grandmother.

also, i wanted to ask about a couple of masterwork tools. it says they should either be limited uses or have a very narrow use, so i was hoping to get a hatchet (or something) and a hunting knife for +2 circumstantial bonuses on survival checks to gain a bonus to fort saves against weather and on survival checks to "get along in the wild" (hunt and forage while traveling) respectively. i didn't just buy them because they seemed of the "ask your GM first" variety of purchase.
