I am pretty sure you can scare these guards until they lose their sleep, Brother. Or maybe I can call to their sense of duty, so they find their backbone. One way or the other, I agree with your suggestion, we better introduce ourselves to the guards so there will be no confusion. You're ready? Adelaida brushes her armor, and straighten her stance. Her military training is obvious, but she walks in the corridors with a new gravitas and authority, towards the guards. Guards! AttennnnTION! She doesn't rise her voice that much. All the steel is in the tone, more than the volume. SL+3 Her commanding presence does the trick, as the guards, unconsciously, try to look all business immediatly. my Brother Valghaz, from the Order of the Stone Wall and myself, Adelaida Lehner, servant of Sigmar, blessed be his holy name, require your cooperation. We have been tasked, as members of the Black Thorns Company, to ensure the security of Herr Bruno. I'll present to you the other members later. I want you, I need you, to be sharp and efficient, on the lookout. No slack will be tolerated. There might be foul play. I'll communicate to you the rooms we are in, as soon as everyone is settled. I want a guard permanently at the door, awake and ready. We will patrol tonight in the corridors, for extra security. We'll get a runner for you, if you need food, or drink, or a break, so you can focus on your mission. Understood?
That's a bit odd... but then I'm not that familiar with the inner workings of the servants of Morr, even if I've seen my share of deaths and burials..

The way she pronounces "Yvonne" betrays her Brittanian origins. Or at least it doesn't totally sounds like how Landolf, or even Yvonne herself, says it. Now, I think we should do some rounds in the corridors during the nights, just to be sure. I don't know who we can trust. Not much has changed since our early days in the Watch, it seems. She smiles at the dwarf, warmly.
Adelaida keeps her eyes on Bruno, and her hand on her warhammer, just in case there was someone foolish enough to attack here and now.

I think that helping Landolf pay for his trapping can only help the party as a whole, as we regulary meet high society people, and he is our best shot at them. So he has to look the part. @Aubster: you have a PM

In Grissenwald, Adelaida tries to buy a bow. Maybe the nigtmare affects her more deeply than she would admit, as she manages to offend the merchant, who asks for a bigger price than usual in retaliation. Wanting to appease the woman, who despite her short temper is an honest and pious citizen of the Empire, no doubt about it, Adelaida pays the asked price, and promise to praise her bowmaking skills on Kemperbad Marketpatz next days.
Honestly, Landolf, I wonder what we would do if you weren't our official accountant. I hope it's not too much of a burden for you.
I'm intrigued by the concept.. still, Carrion Crown could work in Warhammer...

Once again, dark dreams soil Adelaida's night. When she awakes, she spend some time in prayer to Sigmar, trying to find again solace in her mind and soul. She spends time with landolf, hoping the open air and the mundane task of haggling with the merchants will ease her mind of the nightmares. Sl-2 SL+1 Then she looks for a bow and arrows, as she knows that not all fights are close combat. She doesn't forget to give some money at the local church of Sigmar

I don't know what's in the vial, but I won't test it on myself. Suddenly a thought occurs to Adelaida, and she pauses on the stairs, following Valghaz What if "Dumpling" was a scam, a soldier of the forces of Chaos trying to set us up? What if Elteka was their unwilling victim, a loyal citizen of th e Empire used as a scapegoat, transformed into a monster that we eagerly march toward to kill or be killed by? Maybe I'm overthinking this...Maybe the letter we found was forged... She fervently pray Sigmar for guidance
And that proves the woman, as noble as she might be by birth, is an agent of Chaos, a traitor to the Empire, and a threat to erase violently, after the Witchfinders get the names of her accomplices.
Adelaida takes a cookie. It's been a long time I ate one. My mom used to make some, from time to time, but that is a whole different recipe, I guess. Those cookies are really delicious. No offense to my mom, may Sigmar bless her kind soul. Could the battle-hardened warrior have a sweet tooth?

Here's my proposition, Aubster, and others can chime in: let's say we either finish the tower exploration (if there is no more fights) or we pause the game here, what would you say if we ask you to take a month off so you can take care of your wife? Of course, if you want to say hello, or if continuing the game can help you having a small escape from RL, you are more than welcome. But realise that a one month pause won't hurt us, and can do wonders for your wife health and you.

Adelaida's warhammer is more suited for attacking than parrying, nevertheless she puts the massive weapon to good use, bringing the pain into the goblins ranks

As the tower is at the mines entrance, we shouldn't risk to get down in the mines and get our escape route blocked by a second front, if the noble woman is indeed a witch serving the forces of Chaos.
Adelaida guards her Brother, as he tends the wounds of his fellow dwarf. She tries to find anything of interest on the dead goblins
But by now, she probably has walked over any clues. Thrice.

We can't leave a witch using foul, corrupting magick inside the Empire. You know I am with you, Brother.
Adelaida lowers herself as she enters the place, and if she is surprised by the amount of smoke inside the room, she manages to keep her breath. She listens to Valghaz, who is better suited to be their spoke person in the occasion, and looks around with curiosity I've never thought I would see the inside of a dawi's home. If only my mom could be there, or if I could tell her later... Once again, she marvels at how fast her live changed since she was wrongly accused of breaking the peace on a Marketplaz, and met those who became the Black Thorns. She carries herself respectfully, standing at attention out of habit, as the soldier she never ceased to be.
Adelaida stared at the other dwarf, ready to act if he tries to double team her Brother. Don't get involved, and start counting your coins to pay for our beers. Your friend will need you to pick him from the floor and bring him home.
SL 2 Smiling at the small joke, Adelaida retorts I guess it would be poor form to ask which tavern deserves to be called the worst of the town... I'm in the mood for some wine, more than a cold, fresh beer. What would you counsel us, bartender, so we can drink to your success of being the head of the Emty Head, famous for not being the worst tavern in Grissenwald?
Even the battle hardened Adelaida grows pale at the sight of the rotting corpse, and within seconds she empties her stomach
