It's a difficult road. I share the opinion that this pLaytest is as it is now, way worse than the game they are improving. But I honestly think that we should not quit the boat. The biggest problem would be that the developers would just think that there is nothing wrong with their playtest. We have put so much effort and feelings in our reviews that I think that we have avoided that pitfall. Now that they are not going to underestimate the problems, I believe that they will keep working to find good solutions. There are many very good things in the playtest worth saving! ![]()

Precisely because I would never put such a monster in play, there is no way any of the players will ever die without a coup de grace, that only has sense in a zombie film like universe, where people return from the death. ![]()
This dying rules are simply a no go. How is it that no matter how powerful a blow a player receives he can not die directly? If the NPC have to give 'coup de grace's to kill their enemies, the master has to actively decide, with no luck in between that one of its players has to die. I don't know in other groups but this kind of decisions can be very difficult in my group, as really will be a matter of being too soft or too hard as a Master. If no Coup de Grace are dealt, the deaths of players will be a matter of the past. And a game with no risk is not really much fun. I really think there was nothing wrong with the old system. Another solution in search of a problem, that leaves things much worse. Edit: Grammar ![]()
Of course, I am totally for the use of magic weapons and I can perfectly understand that to be successful some king of magic items are to be expected. The problem is that as it has been said times, wit the actual system the damage scaling comes more from the weapons than from the players and this is not the best IMHO. ![]()
Playing "Doom comes to Dustpawn" the players created a 30 feet Pit where one of the Bullfrogs (CR5 Giant Bullfrogs) fell. I felt that the Jumping rules as they are did not take into account the nature of a giant frog. Looking at the rules the maximum height with a +14 to jumping that they would have been able to jump was 8 feet (with a 18 dice roll). A Large size frog! Is more like a disabled giant frog. I felt that 3 times its size was not a unreasonable height for a frog, so to give some randomness to the jump, I decided to make it a 50% chance. There was a lot of discussion as we usually try to play strictly by the rules but in this situation I just thought that the rules made no sense. But I might have been wrong and I would appreciate other GMs opinion. How would you have managed it? Thank you! ![]()
Hello, I will use Zi Mishkal's list so that it is easier for him to follow after. Like: There is potential for a very good game here.
Dislike, For counting purposes use only the three first, but really the 4 below detach you from your PC and give you the feeling that this is not Pathfinder anymore. I have bought all the Playtest materials but if there is not a big change I will stay in the first edition. autoscale skills (+1 to all)

Sorry if it is obvious but I would appreciate your help: Does the maximum dexterity bonus of an armor reduce the number of attacks of opportunity a player can do with the Combat Reflexes feat? To be clear, a DEX 14 player with Combat Reflexes and a Masterwork Full plate, how many AoO can he do, 2 or 3? Thank you. |
