It's going to the dogs in here!

Only if 'called', you tasty little morsel you

From the air itself a horn blows, echoing across the area. The hounds raise their heads and skulk back a bit, perhaps in fear, perhaps in obedience. Their eyes flash black and they both disappear.
Greater Teleport
leaving for an off-site work function in a few minutes.
my turn!
The 2nd hound continues to savage the stunned Tamrin. It seems to be tasting his victim's blood as he does.
1d20 + 20 ⇒ (4) + 20 = 24
damage: 2d6 + 12 ⇒ (4, 5) + 12 = 21 plus 2d6 ⇒ (6, 5) = 11 fire
The 3rd hound presses Ryo, ignoring the newcomer
1d20 + 20 ⇒ (14) + 20 = 34
damage: 2d6 + 12 ⇒ (5, 6) + 12 = 23 plus 2d6 ⇒ (1, 5) = 6 fire

high hit, crappy damage. :(
Ryo brings his metallic arm up as the demonic poodle lunges at him, teeth flashing. He grins when it doesn't let go, and sends a pulse of energy through the arm.
Maximized shocking grasp: 20 points of electricity. That should travel up the nerves in the hounds teeth and zap it's brain!!
He then uses his other hand to punch it in the eye.
1d20+10+2 <- close enough for a touch attack?
1d3+2 puh-lease. immunities in profile. yep, electricity. that demon thing. but sure, you can punch it.
Forced into action by the new arrival, hound #3 lunges at Ryo.
1d20 + 20 ⇒ (15) + 20 = 35
damage: 2d6 + 12 ⇒ (1, 3) + 12 = 16 plus 2d6 ⇒ (2, 1) = 3 fire
high hit, crappy damage. :(

Bad dogs, bad dogs, who ya gonna chew? ;)
Ephebe wrote: A shimmering in the air turns into a gate and a girl stumbles out catching her balance as she looks around.
"Oh, good. Landed in the right place this time."
She pulls out what looks an awful lot like a Caster and takes aim at the dog attacking Tamrin.
Holy Smite. 20 ft radius. 10d6 damage to the demon dogs.
"I'm really not a dog person."
SR 25
If it bypasses SR, #2 will save for 1/2...1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 Yikes! Hopefully (for them) you didn't penetrate their SR. #3 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17 DC please?
Not looking good for them if you penetrate. Of course, that might be due to the blindness.

No save. Any SR anyone? 1d20+19 to overcome.
You are trying to use mind-affecting spells against a psychic?
Sparks begin to fly from Ryo's arm again as he sets his mind against the howl.
"I didn't think so. Any chance you'll tell me who sent you?"
Ryo already has a vague idea of what the hound will do next, and he places his body just so in order to stop it if it attacks. Cautious, since this human ignored the howl's effect, the 3rd hound slowly circles, readying itself to test Ryo's ability to defend himself physically. Or to see if Ryo gets distracted by his friend's near demise.
Hound #2 bites at the freshly stunned Tamrin.
1d20 + 20 ⇒ (5) + 20 = 25
gotta luv the no dex and the -2 AC
2d6 + 12 ⇒ (1, 6) + 12 = 19 plus 2d6 ⇒ (5, 5) = 10 fire

Whew!
Now for a 5-round break. You'll pardon me if I don't jump for joy - I'm, like, stunned and junk, neh? ;D 4d4 if you were under 50. Didn't remember it was 'current' hp. yikes! that's it for the howls. today.

0 for over 150 hp
2d4 Rounds of Stun for 51-100 hp opponents
No save. Any SR anyone? 1d20+19 to overcome. Are all three of us close enough together for it to affect us? Is Ryo with us now...?
I don't have SR, but I presume Aananda does. Ryo ran in and is throwing rocks. Yes, the howl acts as power word stun, but is not limited to one target. a la banshee, yeth hound, etc.

Way to jinx me :)
Last shot o' the round. Ranged Touch Attack Roll: 1d20+12
Lesser Orb of Sound, no save, no SR

Basically she took a round to use a Jedi ability to determine which creature had thoughts, and is now using her breath weapon that she doesn't know is a breath weapon. Cause sometimes playing a polymorphed dragon Jedi is complicated. :)
line of force, DC 18 Ref for half: 8d8
errr....ummm...mirror images jumping around...errr, OK. I hate 'em too, 'cause you have to figure something has to work.
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30 Reflex
The eight versions of the 2nd hound show damage, as the original is hit, but the hit is not enough for it to miss Tamrin.
With that critical! Oh yeah!
A third hound teleports in, behind Ryo.

Full damage, TWICE, and I can frikkin' hit the damn(ed) dog! Well, you could roll a 1 and hit Tam or Aananda. We won't mind.

Stupid metal arm not being dexstrous... must have blown a fuse during the psychic energy burst.

Ooh, a critical. Tasty human. Double the bite damage, not the fire. 36 of toothy evil pain +6 fire So 42 points total, right? Yes, unless Aananda can totally stop it from attacking.
Kannic spurs his rock lizard on and makes sure his invisibility is working, but is soon overwhelmed by two more hounds. One of them lets loose with an unearthly howl, stunning both he and his magical mount. The mount stops dead in its track and Kannic flies over its head, helpless to even catch himself before he hits the ground in a bone-breaking jolt. The rock lizard melts back into a lump of stone, and one of the beasts stands atop the unconscious rogue. Their forms meld as one and fade. Kannic is gone.
The second hound of this pair continues on to the rest of their quarry.
Unless Aananda can stop it... They are looking to take Tam down. These two at least.

2k posts without being invaded. Yay!
The hound wails in pain. His eyes burn brightly in anger. An unnatural voice rumbles through the growl.
"Well, dead then."

That it would be - ouch :(
Noting that there's nothing life self-cauterizing deep puncture wounds to bring one back to one's senses, Tam regains motor control and lurches back from the beast and the others that are surrounding him.
Tam slams a shell home and fires.

Horrid Wilting, targeting all the demon dogs. Fort DC 23 to halve the damage, and all those Mirror Images should now be dissipated.
Full Damage: 16d6
Grumble. Had to read the spell, then read the new mirror Image again, then reread the spell to see it was a moot point.
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (8) + 13 = 21 Fort save
Fail
Stun round is over for both of you! I assume your high dex's should give you the 1st responses. :)
The 1st hound pounces, taking advantage of Tam's stunned status

1d4 ⇒ 1 rounds stunned
His grip on the handles of the hoverbike slipping, Tamrin is happy that they had slowed to a near stop. He tumbles off the bike but is still able to function, albeit slightly impaired by the effect of the howl. Wondering if his vision has been effected as well, he sees 9 images of a nasty looking mutated form of some kind of warhound racing towards him from the dust. The sight is unnerving, but he realizes that severity of the threat. Fires burn cold in the beast's eyes, and the ground burns at its touch.
Trying to clear his head he catches sight of a second hound in his peripheral vision. It also moves straight towards him, or the 7 of them do, trying to flank. For some reason, both have focused on him, though he does catch on that they spot Aananda as well.
As the brave couple turn to face the rapidly approaching threat, the dust from their hoverbikes works against them. The dust cloud widens, almost circling them of its own accord. They hear a howl that sounds like that of dozens of souls being tormented, the source still hidden within the cloud. The first howl is followed by a second.
Power Word, Stun DC28 Will, 1d4 rounds if less than 150 hp, longer if less than 100 hp. 2 saves please.
Despite holding their ears against the pain of the voices, the effect pentrates. The sources of the howls appear as blurred animal forms about 50' out, circling the two riders.
Mirror Image #1 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 images, #2 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 images

She's even jumpier than usual. Tam periodically checks behind them to see if Kannic and or Ryo are around, or if anybody else is following them.
"I hope they're already out of there..." "Yeah, me too. I can't tell. All I get is a continuing sense of danger all around. Be really careful, Tam." "Great... well if that's the case, maybe we shouldn't be leading them on anywhere, but stopping them in their tracks right now. Besides, I'm in the mood for some answers as to what the heck is going on." Maybe you should split up? ;>
The scent of Aananda and Tamrin drive the creatures forward. Their speed increases. Their master will be pleased.
I think I'll change them away from my original thought and make them more of a tough brute. Very prelim concept in their profile. They're a mix of Nerissian Warhounds and demons. Who wants to play with the nice puppies?
