Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

Keen eyes observe the swimming beast as it charges their boat. Only then does Abramov realize that he shouldn't be studying the damn thing while it's on its way to destroy their boat!

Knowledge Nature: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
Reflex Save to avoid falling in: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20

He then leans to the side and assists Halsanna in getting back onboard.
Assist .. climb??: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

"Trouble!" The doctor sounded tense as he hissed out the word under his breath. A hand pointed out the approaching shape.

Ready action - attack it when it surfaces. Dagger: +6 1D4+1 (19-20, x2) P/S

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

Updated. Might be a bit slow, been shot down by a throat infection that's temporarily draining my will to live.

.. 26 degrees celcius and I get a frikkin' throat infection! >>

edit: is it possible to pick a mithril chain shirt over a +1 armor? With Abramov' crazy dex modifier when chucking potions, it would be a waste to get a +1 armor only to then replacing it when some money opens up :)

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

I say the weapon goes to Halsanna. A +1 on att/dmg to someone who makes two attacks a round sounds splendid. The armor should go to the frontliners - Kalam and Abramov. The cloaks should go to the most vulnerable members - Mezzen and Halsanna. But I'm of the thought that one should fortify keyroles first, secondary roles second ^^

.. in the end, I'm fine either way, since Abramov is good as long as he gets to chuck a potion.

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

Annoyed by the suggestion, the doc eyes the gnome and then Kalam. "If I had a never-ending vault of gold I'd try my hand at making it, but it's a tad too specific for its cost. In our line of work it might come in handy, but I'd rather spend the gold on something else .. if I had the gold."

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

The doctor had gone to his room to relax with a cup of tea. There he was, sitting on his bed, wondering where he had gone wrong, how it came to be that he had to face inhuman monstrosities that were all too happy to tear him apart.

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

"It beats me. I think the man is only going to get worse until we do something about the Sin Well."

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

Kalam notices Abramov eyeing him. "You'd almost think he could function as a compass if we took him along."

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

Abramov tags along with Kalam. The man must know something useful .. he isn't being kept around by the consortium just because of his pleasant personality.

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

Abramov listens and nods. Kalam pretty much just said it all. "A back entrance is a necessity or else it will turn into a grinder. And seeing what those things can do, it will result in casualties."

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

"They obviously lack brains. This means that we can come up with a plan to outwit them to see us through to our objective .. now, for a plan .."

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

"I'm out of here!" and like that, the doctor turns around and tries to get away from the menacing horde of monstrosities.

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

I updated the amount of charges on the wand!

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

Abramov flaps open his coat, presenting the wand to Kalam. The wand of cure light wounds, of course.

Say we get caught mid-healing, I can at least react with two acid vials and you can drop back.

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

The doc puts away his scalpel and proceeds to bring forth two vials of acid, one for each hand. "We best take position.."

Can we hear where they're coming from - left, right or straight ahead? I'll make a perception check just in case.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

Frantically the doctor stabs away at the dying beast, hoping to end its sick and twisted life once and for all.

Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12 .. not counting the prone bonus/penalty and whatever not.
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

The doctor lashes out with a wicked jab.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

20+3 = CMD 23.

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

Abramov maintains his defensive posture, but he seems to be rather intimidated by the creature's ferocity.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

AC: 26 (5 dex, 3 armor, 2 natural armor, 4 shield, 2 fight defensively), CMD 20.

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

Not to nitpick, but when you're grappling someone, you first get to do a maintain check before you opt to do something else, such as attacking or using grapple to do damage. The maintain is done with a +5 on the roll.

But I'm not going to complain. I've hated the grappling rules in 3.5 and they're still pretty terrible in PF :p

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

AoO: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

If it is a hit, Abramov's CMD goes up from 18 to 20 - not enough to avoid being grappled.

The doc was caught in the savage embrace of the beast. Adapting a more or less defensive posture - for whatever it was worth - he stabbed away at the creature.

-2 to hit for being grappled, -4 dex (effectively -2 penalty) for being grappled and for a total of -4 to hit. Add another -4 for fighting defensively on top of that, and the to hit is at a +0. Netto result is that Abramov's AC remains 24 and his CMD is 18.

Attack: 1d20 ⇒ 3
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

The doctor ducks to avoid a claw aimed at his throat, only to then having to dodge a wicked bite. The creature's aggressive assault resulted in an opening and a dagger went forth to exploit it.

Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Ugh, I might have a high attack bonus, but without sneak attack, my damage output is pitiful xD

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

A combination of agility and magical shielding keeps Abramov out of harm's way. For now. He did the one thing he could and that was to fight back.

Standard action: attack with dagger.
Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

The doctor's reaction is to chuck down the contents of a tiny vial. After that, all he can do is wait for them to come forward and attack.

Standard action: extract (shield). That's it.
Shield -> +4 shield bonus to AC for 2 minutes.
AC: 24 (5 dex, 3 armor, 2 natural armor, 4 shield), CMD 18.

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

Professional interest in the exact nature of the carnage began to fade as it became more and more clear they'd have to face whatever caused it.

Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

"You're mad." And with that, the doctor continued onwards.

Stealth: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

The doctor's brows dipped down and he looked at his companions with a frown. "Big claws, inhuman strength. I do not like where this is going. We're in a sewer on a wild goose hunt, stuck in a system of narrow tunnels that we don't know, chasing a cult of killers who apparently have rigged the tunnels with traps AND there is a beast out there that can tear us apart with ease."

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

The doctor kneels and studies the bits of rotten meat. Ah, reminds me of a Sczarni rip-deal gone wrong..

Heal: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

"If they haven't heard us coming by now.." and he sighs, knowing that they're walking into a trap wide-eyed stupid.

It's been noted! Assuming no one has any complaints about moving on ..

After being patched up by divine energy, Abramov takes his place at the head of the colum again and moves onwards. This time a little more wary..

Stealth: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

Completely oblivious to the trap, so intent on looking ahead for danger that he barely noticed the all consuming flames until it was too late, Abramov stumbled forward until reality threw him back.

Reflex save: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
At 1 out of 19 hp now, lol.

"Mother's scarf!! They'll pay for this!!"" the doctor hissed in a mix of anger, frustration and surprise. Oh, and a good amount of pain.

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

With drawn daggers - you never know when you need to throw one - the doctor leads the way through filth and decay. With Ceinwynn's light illuminating the way, what could go wrong? A lot he thought to himself. Best be quiet now.. and like that, he stealthily moved forward.

Stealth check: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18
While the light may betray us, Abramov hopes to at least keep the sound to a minimum.

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

"Sure, if I saw a damn I would. Also, I can't discern between a turd and the imprint of a boot, so there might be that as well. You best stay close behind me."

Alas, I do not have survival (for tracks) or low-light vision or darkvision to help me see a damn without having to resort to a torch or magical light. Splitting up without any reason to do so seems quite silly.

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

"Argh! Mom's scarf will be ruined if we enter the sewer .. this better be worth it .." the doc whined. He then continued on forward, taking the lead.

Works for me. I might not post again until tomorrow afternoon (European time, so late morning US west coast) because I got some RL responsibilities ;)

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

"Yes, yes, yes! I'm going, I'm going!" the doctor says with an agitated voice. He then falls in behind Kalam, ready to roll.

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

"Are we all good? Let's get any healing done before we move on." the doctor says while scanning their surroundings. With no obvious threats in sight he uncorks a vial containing a hissing liquid and downs it with one gulp. Whatever it was, it didn't do much to better his mood. He shook his head from side to side as if something was stuck to it and then rapidly blinked a couple of times.
"Now then. That woman is really starting to piss me off! Let's get her."

Consume Mutagen. +4 dex, +2 natural armor bonus, -2 wisdom. Lasts 20 minutes.
Adjusted stats: AC 21, Touch 16, Flat-footed 15, To Hit +8, Reflex Save +9, Will Save -1.

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

Abramov slides in behind the last guardsman and starts stabbing. With only one guard left, this fight seemed pretty much over.

Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Damage: 1d4 + 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + (1) + 1 = 3
Dem rolls.

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

The combination of a wicked halberd and a magic-induced frenzy make for a fearsome opponent, but also one that's easy to hit. With precision the doctor strikes, applying lethal force to the lower back of the guard.
Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
Damage: 1d4 + 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + (5) + 1 = 8

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

Seeing their fortunes collapse like a house of cards as yet another group of magic-induced lunatics approach them, Abramov realises that this day will be one filled with blood. Lots and lots of blood.

Move to S-13 using all 6 squares of movement to avoid AoO's, then attack.
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19 > 21 if flanking.
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 + Sneak: 1d6 ⇒ 3 > 7 if sneak is applicable.

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

"Let's do the obvious thing and check out the alley she disappeared into? I fear we'll encounter more roadblocks on our way to the runewell.."

Abramov checked his gear, tightened the straps of his armor and made sure the potion bottles are where they should be. All ready, he gives his companions a look that screams let's go let's go!

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

Mid-sentence, halfway in between explaining the various uses of one's mother, Abramov stops moving and cursing. He looks mightily confused, moves his gaze over his own body and shakes his head as if something is stuck in it, then slaps himself repeatedly on the cheek. "Okay, wow, whatever is causing these problems is of quite formidable power .. are you ok, Kalam?"

I should pick up Iron Will sometime soon :s

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

1, 2 or 3 is Kalam and 4, 5 or 6 is the looter: 1d6 ⇒ 1 > Kalam.

The words came first, the dagger came second. "I'm gonna cut you up like the dog you are!" Abramoved snapped at Kalam. The deadly hiss of steel followed as he tried to stab the man.

Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

Will Save: 1d20 ⇒ 4

Nope.

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

I'll just roll with it, but Abramov moved up to W-26 last round :D otherwise it would've been impossible to throw the vial.

The doctor reaches for his scalpel and goes to town on one of the unlucky sailors. Abramov does know mercy, but when his life is at stake he somehow has a hard time finding it.

Draw weapon, stab.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

Abramov runs forward, grabs a vial and then throws it at a man in the middle of the group. Going by his quick calculations, he should be able to hit at least five of them. A snap of the wrist and the vial was free as a bird, flying towards its destination.

Move up to W-26. Target = R4, should splash over all but R2
Acid vial: 1d20 ⇒ 17. Took a -6 thanks to range increments.
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Splash damage: 3.

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

The doctor falls in behind Kalam. Desperately he tries to keep his nerves under control. The urge to sneak around the block and find himself staring at the woman's back, with dagger in hand, throbs like a painful reminder of how vulnerable they are right now - walking past her, possibly straight into a trap. But sometimes you need to do things the wide-eyed stupid way.

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

Abramov looks around and momentarily wonders what he could do to subdue the riots. The answer? Little.

Perception check: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

Abramov packs up.Before he goes, he gives all his vials a good shake, checking the level of murkiness to see if there's nothing wrong with them. All seems well and he joins the others.

"The act of killing is almost always a clinical one. The instrument of death, the method of applying the mortal stroke and of course all the other details such as place and time, are all things thought through before the actual event happens. Deducing from the fact these boys and girls are trying to use a runewell, either it is located around the dock area and thus the effect is felt strongest there, or their target is there and they've focused their resources on the dock area. The best disguise for a killer is when everyone around him is just as much of a killer.."

Let's discuss this on the way to the docks?

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

Abramov doesn't write down the name of this bookstore in his book, but instead carves it into his mind. He listens to Ursus and raises his hands in an apologetic manner as he leaves the room.

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

The doctor has taken his notebook out and is busy scribbling down notes. All of this information is oh so interesting and exciting! Sure, his daughter was kidnapped and or dead by now, but still!

Male Human Alchemist (Vivisectionist) 2 - 18/19HP - AC17 (T14/F13 - F5 R7 W0 - +5 Perc - +10 Init - CMD16)

Abramov watches how Kalam fires away a barrage of questions at the man. For now he's asking the right questions and that gives Abramov some time to think about what this ritual might be and how it works.

Knowledge Arcana: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
I suppose that's (way too) low.
