Thank you all for your help. My character has a character number and I'm excited to play. I'm mostly waiting for the finances to buy the sourcebooks with my character's options. Does Paizo have any regular sales or is the ~$20 pdf generally the most affordable it gets?

Greetings fine Pathfinders. I'm new to Pathfinder and the Pathfinder Society. I think I've got most of the basics down regarding PFS and PbP play, but I have a question regarding tying a character to the Society. Is there anything specific that I as a player need to do (other than register for a organized play number)? Or is it a simple as "Character just finished his training at the Grand Lodge and is ready for assignments"?
