I'm guessing she killed someone on the other side in Arathi Basin PvP and then teabagged the corpse, hence the bitter criticism.
We have a very prominent socialist senator around here who's well known for playing WoW. He even has a university course about social leadership that uses WoW as a mean to study tribal interactions.
He plays a human paladin, and uses to joke about the fact he plays for the Alliance (as the Alliance is also the coalition of right-wing parties).

Hmm. I visited The Republican Slam Site Designed to Discredit Lachowicz.
I have to say, they did a great job convincing me that she's a normal person with a normal life; a healthy sense of humor, and a kind of Everyman personality missing from 'honest' politics.
If I were a Mainer, I'd vote for her.

I read the article. The republicans were not blasting for playing WoW, it was the fact she was using it to badmouth republicans and talking about how she is slacking off.
Here are a few quotes:
"Yes, I am seriously slacking off at work today. And I called my congresswoman's office today. And told them I would probably be calling everyday."
"I'm lazy, remember?"
"Now if you'll excuse me, I may have to go and hunt down Grover Norquist and drown him in my bath tub."
"Or my dream from election season last year where John McCain sat at my childhood dining room table and I reamed him a new a**hole about Sarah Palin."
I have no problem with a politician of any party playing in off duty hours, not skipping work to play, and lets keep the politics out of it.

No, I'm pretty sure there is a moderate-to-large amount of preying on gamer-fear and nerd-shaming going on there. I mean, yes, they are criticizing her for posting comments that could be considered on the juvenile side, but they could easily do that without having a massive picture of her character, and a blurb explaining what WoW is. Oh, and accusations of her living in a fantasy world. Come on, you don't seriously believe they made WoW the focus of this just for kicks, right? Most of the comments on that page are from posts at DailyKos, but, "My liberal opponent posts anti-Republican things on DailyKos!" doesn't really have the same sting to it - after all, that describes pretty much every progressive politico out there.

"Now if you'll excuse me, I may have to go and hunt down Grover Norquist and drown HIM in my bath tub."
This is a response to a quote from Grover Norquist: "I'm not in favor of abolishing the government. I just want to shrink it down to the size where we can drown it in the bathtub."

Right, because no one in the history of the civilized world has ever taken a sick day to do something they liked. Also she's running for office, not an incumbent, so her massive 27 hours of WoW a week (the average American watches 30 hours of TV a week BTW) was done while she wasn't an elected public official (no idea if she works in the public or private sector). Also those quotes . . . if that's the sort of thing that makes you mad as a Republican in Maine boys oh boys don't ever try running on the big stage.
