Hi - I've got some questions for Amanda, our DM for this game.
The write-up says we can play a pre-gen or a PFS character. As was asked in another thread about this game, does this mean PFS-legal or an actual PFS character? On a related note - does this mean we'll somehow get PFS credit for this? (I'm guessing not. )
On a more fun note - who else is playing in this game? I'll be there with my son. I've been playing RPGs since the early 80's, my son is almost 14 and has played Pathfinder for about 3 years now, managing to play 2-4 times a week because his school has an after-school Pathfinder group, the lucky dog.
Haven't yet turned my thinking to a character to make for this, if that's what we end up doing, but it's pretty clear we should plan for some time in the water!

Hey, Khelreddin!
A PFS-legal character is perfectly fine. It doesn't need to have actually been played in the organized play campaign. Unfortunately, as you guessed, the game won't be for PFS credit.
I'm actually not sure who all is playing this game, but I'm hoping some more folks will post in this thread! It sounds like it's going to be a great time.
I know it's still early, but I should also say that the GM for this game might be getting shuffled. I'll keep everyone watching this thread updated.

Hi Jeff - a question on characters, if you don't mind tipping your hand a little bit: should we plan on being underwater a bunch? I'm guessing from the description ("amongst the coral" and so on) that at least some of the time we will be. Should we be making characters with that in mind, or does it not matter so much?
And if you'd rather we cope with this as it arises in the game, that's fine too.

To address some things that have been discussed in the thread for the other session of this adventure:
If you want to use elements from the Midgard Campaign Setting, Deep Magic, or another Kobold Press/Midgard-related publication, I'm open to allowing for it. I would ask that I be allowed to review the character prior to game day so I don't have to take up game time looking it over at the table.

Okay, I received a zip file with the adventure and pregens in it. Here's the roster for those that are interested.
- Aurion Redlancer, LN male human cavalier (Order of the Dragon)
- Cruent, LN male human inquisitor
- Rainbow, NE female human fighter/witch
- Riddle, CG male gnome sorcerer (protean bloodline)
- Sari Kneecapper, male dwarf rogue (No alignment listed, but his background sheet describes him as "Joe Pesci meets Jayne Cobb" so I'm gonna guess CN.)
- Seif, NG male half-elf druid/fighter
As for the question of underwater, after skimming the adventure it would seem you could go the entire adventure without getting more than your legs wet if you play it right. The reef is the first obstacle in the adventure and the party must get through it to the island it surrounds. It could be done entirely by boat if you so choose. If the party decides to travel underwater with magic, that's a possibility. However, characters adapted to aquatic environs are not necessary for success.
