Djahan Ruuh

Djahan raises an eyebrow.
”Oh, to be honest we were thinking about alternative solutions! You must have something else that you need except of just a couple of years?! And how exactly with this itching work anyway?!“
diplomacy : 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Findlefarb
|
Findlefarb smirks. "Oh, let's split them in five-second increments, of course. Much more manageable, that way. Is there a bag that you wish them to be placed into? And are those years of solitude? Barleycorn?"
Perform(Comedy): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Dr. John H. Watson
|
Dr. Watson raises an eyebrow, too.
"Your price for Palhuna is in years? He definitely didn't mention that particular part of your interaction. How convenient. I agree with my colleague here, you certainly have an alternative task that we can carry out instead..."
Aid Diplomacy to persuade others: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26

A couple of years dearie? I think you forgot a zero there.
One thing that Marquel did tell you was that Madame Jelaris is an inveterate gambler. If you wager the years, you might walk away paying nothing! Or paying twice as much. If you do that, a word of advice: don’t cheat. Or at least don’t get caught cheating.
Findlefarb
|
"Oh? How many zeros did you have in mind? They're easy to lose, made of nothing and all."
Stroking his beard, Findlefarb adds, "So, you're asking for 20 years, payable by the living beings that have entered in service to Murqual, do I have that correct? I'm still uncertain about the nature of those years; are they imprinted on the soul? Simple indentured servitude? Instant aging? The binding of outsiders?"
With a sparkle in his eye, he finishes, "But I'm sure we can find a way to deliver a promise of 20 years from the beings present in this room right now. Unless... you're interested in a game of it."
Djahan Ruuh
|
Djahan nods.
”Lets bet on something or play a game… we’ll definitely come up with something?!“

It doesn’t actually age you. It’s not as though time goes faster, but it does prematurely wear down your body by a few years. I just insert a tube down your throat extracting an essence from your lungs.
Findlefarb
|
"Insert a tube? Fascinating!"
Rubbing his fingers and humming while looking around, Findlefarb adds, "I'm torn between an utter fascination at the process, and the disappointment of not finding 20 years of job security."
Looking around for the tube in question.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26

"We were sent to retrieve the mirror for Marquel, not make payment instead of them. If you want payment, got talk to Marqquel." Suggests Huong.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Not sure if any of us have Hero Points or not. If I do I would like to use it now to re-roll.

Sorry, I got confused. Old age. I have a 1st season t-shirt and character folio but I bought both at the local thought years ago. Not sure how I can prove it.
Opps, wrong game. it's a P2 season 1 shirt and character folio from both 1 and 2 versions.
Ruby, Helpful Wanderer
|
"Ah, so it takes the years off the top, so to speak?" Ruby clarifies. "Depending on the game, I think I'd like to play it!" she says, in agreement with Djahan and Findlefarb.
Djahan Ruuh
|
Djahan watches the team, but does not indicate that he’ll participate, yet.
Ruby, Helpful Wanderer
|
"Sounds fun, let's play!" Ruby says, clearly not needing more information to play a game. Once she is handed a di, she sends it clattering across the table.
Twenty Bones!: 1d20 ⇒ 18
"Did I win? Wait, what do I get if I win? Do I get your years? How does that convert to Halfling years? Is there some kind of exchange rate? I might need an abacus. Do you have one of those? I'd like to borrow it!"
Ruby stands up from the table and starts looking for an abacus.
phaeton_nz

There has to be something about halflings as Madame Jelaris cannot help but smile. A year is a year, little one. I ... would say it is a one to one exchange rate although, I suspect your people pack more into those years than we do

So far it is Skurge and Ruby who consist Team RWBY. You are given twenty tokens to split among you and have to pay a token to get a die. Ruby pays a token and Jelaris pays a token for a die each.
1d20 ⇒ 16
Ruby wins, gaining two tokens.
Score:
Team RWBY: 21
Jelaris: 19
Is Skurge going to roll this round and is anyone else joining in? Although, at this point, Skurge's roll would not change the outcome of this round.
Huong Chan

Huong takes a turn at the dice. "Apsu guide my hand." he calls out as he rolls the dice.
Gambling Attempt: 1d20 ⇒ 10
Findlefarb
|
"I, for one, believe in Ruby. If I join, I just dilute our pool. I'll watch for now."
Findlefarb sits back and lets Ruby, Skurge, and Huong take the lead.
Ruby, Helpful Wanderer
|
Oh geez XD Let's see how lucky the Halfling is!
Ruby windmill-slams a token down, tosses the dice, and repeats. No matter who wins, she cheers and earnestly congratulates them. "Yay! Look at all the numbers! I hope you get some tokens too, it's more fun that way!"
Twenty Bones!: 1d20 ⇒ 17

"A game of pure chance? I think I'll let others have the fun..."
Dr. Watson watches, though, looking for any sign of manipulation by Jelaris or her employees.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

My goal while people are engrossed in the game is to see if I can locate the mirror, the tube, or anything else that could result in a threat or risk to the party.

Huong: 1d20 ⇒ 12
After five more rounds, Ruby has fourteen tokens in front of her, Huong has five and Jelaris has sixteen tokens left. Skurge is out.
There seems to be no signs of trickery of threats.
Five more dice rolls from Jelaris, one roll per round.

That's gotta be a crippling loss for Ruby now, yeah?
"That was fun! We should do this again some time!" Ruby says as she offers Jelaris a double high-five. "Can I get the mirror now? I suddenly feel like I have less time than I once did to get things done... I don't suppose you'd be willing to share the secrets to year collecting with me so I can try and get more from someone else?"

You played well little halfling but if you quit now, I shall only charge fifteen years for the mirror, being the difference between our pile of tokens.
Findlefarb

Sensing the endgame approaching, Findlefarb counts out seven pieces of straw, carefully looking them over for similarity, and cuts one short.
"I figured we'd draw lots between us, figure out who would offer the years in the end."
Ruby, Helpful Wanderer
|
"I accept your deal!" Ruby cheers, the game now over.
She looks over to Findlefarb to see what he has in mind about lots and drawing. Let's see, we have parking lots, housing lots, a lots, lots in life, empty lots, lots of lots! Now where are my paper and colors to get all this drawn...
Down to clown, do what you gotta to Findlefarb!
