If it still doesn't open he calls for a hammer and a crowbar.

"That'll do, Soarin. That'll do."
Given that is basically double the DC ;-)

GM Valen |

Finding out there's a cabinet that needs opening, Soarin has a go at it.
Soarin is quite successful and recovers a stash of spell gems.
After concluding their efforts, the party has managed to clear the exile out of the outpost, secure the site, access the command-center computers, and retrieve all relevant information requested by the hiring organization.
What do you wish to do next, Starfinders? Return to the village? Head directly to your ship? Something else?

"Agreed - we should tell them that they are part of a larger Universe."

GM Valen |

Fortunately, while the party was in the outpost, the energy of the nearby erruption has, at least temporarily, been released and the heat in the immediate atmosphere has somewhat disipated.
Crossing the relatively flat lava fields, the village can be readily seen even at a considerable distance. With each step closer, more and more rock creatures appear around the village, it is clear that you have been sited. A shiny mote can be seen circling the head of one of the creatures, indicating that it is Gggruggrek. Soon, those that idenified themselves as K'Kokkac, Krizzk, and Okcaruk can be seen, as can Ikkcrokek, the creature you saved among the ruins.
"Dir'ck! Dir'ck!" Gggruggrek begins to chant and soon some of the others join in. They are clearly pleased to see that you have returned alive and undoubtedly have many questions for you.
What do you wish to do, Starfinders?

Not having ranks in Culture, or Interpretive Mime, Iseph turns to the rest of the party.
"How do you want to do this?"

![]() |

"I know their language!" Dirk smiles wide, moves towards them and gently "high fives" some of the rock creatures. Looking down at them he says "How's it going? You guys OK?"
He tries to figure a better way to communicate.
Culture: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

GM Valen |

"How's it going? You guys OK?"
"Okkkaekkk! Okkkaekkk!" The rock people begin to chant in response.
Gggruggrek picks an obsidian rock with jagged pieces jutting from it. The villager lays the rough obsidian rock atop a larger rock, before smashing it with a hard fist. As the struck piece of obsidian shatters into a collection of shards, Gggruggrek turns a stony face toward the party.
"Okkkaekkk?" Gggruggrek inquires.

"I don't know that I am good at this ... but are they asking if we have destroyed their way of life? Like smashed everything they believe in? or maybe just if we destroyed the "black rock" which opposed them?"

Bluff: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12.
Iseph has no idea what they are going on about.

diplomacy: 1d20 + 11 + 1d6 ⇒ (16) + 11 + (1) = 28
The latter I suspect. They want reassurance that we have destroyed that exile and the outpost is no threat.
He then bring out a hammer, indicates the group then slams the hammer down on the remains of the obsidian shattering it into smaller particles. He then blows the dust away off the rock, signifying that it's gone.

The villagers erupt in a rousing, joyous roar.
"Okkkaekkk! Okkkaekkk!" The villagers chant loudly in unison. Some of the solarian leaders concentrate, trying to lift some of the Starfinders off so they can be carried atop the shoulders of the cheering rockfolk.
The Starfinders are brought to a slightly raised rock face filled with shallow pools, each tinged a different color by various algae and small growths within them. As the rockfolk shove their stony appendages into the pools and bring them toward their rockfaces, it is evident that they are holding a triumphant, festive meal. Clearly, the inhabitants are pleased with the Starfinders return to their village and the victory obtained over the exile. A rocking celebration is held in your honor.
We are nearing the end of the adventure, though feel free to continue to roleplaying the celebration if you wish. After about 24 hours, I will return the party back to the Lorespire Complex for the final "encounter".

Well, at least they still seem friendly...
Iseph does their best to smile, make appropriate hand gestures, and generally seem happy and inoffensive.

GM Valen |

"It isn't all that often that I'm totally right, just by guessing, no nanite intervention, but wow, I am certainly glad I was right this time!"
"RIGHKT! RIGHKT!" Some of the rock creatures begin to reponse. One goes trys to give the half-elf a pat on the back, although the effort is a bit rough.
"Yeah Jeison sounds right!" Dirk then turns to the rock creatures and waives his fist. "OKAY OKAY!" and smiles.
As the [s]rockous[/o] raucous village celebration continues, many of the rock creatures seem to be asking the Starfinders about the events since the party's first arrival, including inquiries about the fate of the exile, questions about possibly returning "haunts", and assurances that it is safe to venture to the outpost now. Eventually, the celebration in your honor come to a close and the villagers promise to look favorably upon Starfinders in the future, should any of from the organization ever return.
When ready, the party boards the Drake and heads back to the Lorespire Complex on Absalom Station. Guidance debriefs the agents when upon arrival on Absalom Station.
“Welcome back, Starfinders." The artificial intelligence greets the party with a holographic projection of a kasatha. "The contracting organization, the Hellknights, is eager to review the data you have recovered."
"The Order of the Pike is particularly interested in the nature of any threats that you may have faced on your mission. The Order is dedicated to slaying monsters that jeopardize peace and innocent lives. More than mere killers, these Hellknights often take a naturalist's approach to their monster hunting, learning about their prey and extensively documenting this information. As a result, they have an impressive library of information regarding strange and dangerous beasts. I hope that you may be able to add to it." Guidance continues. "I’ve prepared a list of subsequent missions that might appeal to you, once you’re properly debriefed. There are a multitude of other lost outposts in Near Space, and with your experience, we hope you will take these assignments into consideration. Now, what have you to report?”
We are very close to the end of the adventure, though please feel free to continue to roleplaying if you wish. I have enjoyed running this table for this group quite a bit. I tried to make this table of a repeatable as memorable and unique to play as possible, particularly for those of you who joined me for the other table.
I will report the game shortly and hope to have the link to chronicles posted within the next 24 hours or so.

GM Valen |

Maybe the area is a breeding ground for space creatures Soarin says before submitting his report.
"An intriguing prospect," Guidance concludes. "I am certain that the Lictor of the Order of the Pike will be most interested in discussing your suspicions as will, no doubt, the Order's lead librarian and head of infernal affairs."
END
Game reported and link to chronicle sheets is now in Discussion thread. Thanks again all for a most enjoyable table!
