Momo has a look at the nelentu and feels a sense of familiarity. She's seen this song and dance before: too much tomfoolery, too much lightheartedness and too much not taking things seriously. She should probably store Minqalli's communication number under 'little winged punk'.
Haish.. she says with a sigh, what can I do...
She doesn't exactly have clothes to spare at this point, so providing a disguise for the nelentu may not be an option.
Unless there's a random santa claus costume lying around somewhere...
Do you want us to talk to Amyik for you? See if she'll change her mind?
| GM Hmm |
Valas smiles and says, "Tell me about this tree and why you are banned."
If Minquali seems like he is being honest, Valas will agree to help hide him.
"Um... weren't you there? I climbed the diorama, and then Amyik busted us, and then you smoothed things over with her, but she was still mad at me..."
Valas thinks Minqalli is being sincere.
Do you want us to talk to Amyik for you? See if she'll change her mind?
Minqalli's eyes widen. "Oh, will you? I so want to see the Gala!"
Momo Strawberry
|
Yes, mister Soarin, all help is welcome. I think Amyik plays by the rules, but she is open to reason.
To Minqalli she says I'll try, but if I can't convince her, that means you might be kicked out... she stops her sentence mid-way and looks at the nelentu ...ah, I can't get much worse for you, can it? Let's try this!
She'll try an spot the security guard to convince her.
Roleplay in spoiler
Momo takes a deep breath, as if to brace for the coming storm, and then approaches the security guard.
Miss Amyik, I'd want to talk about Minqalli. They have told me they were banned from the gala. To us, they have been a great help and asset, the way our display case looks can really be attributed to them and their experience. I know the way they acted yesterday was inappropriate, but this exhibit is a once in a lifetime vent for someone like Minqalli. Denying them that... it is very harsh, and may scar them for life. Would you allow us to vouch for Minqalli, so that they may still attend?

Youth are often exuberant as they learn about the world. Punishing that enthusiasm can sour them on embracing new experiences, and have long lasting negative effects. Yes, they must learn not to damage things, but I don't believe any real damage was done here.

The bear echoes the sentiment into the vesk's thoughts. "There was no actual harm done, lasting or otherwise," he points out. "If Minqalli gets out of hand, I will personally grab them and sit on them."
He can't help but wonder if his attempts at humor will be adequately conveyed, or if he misread the room--again--and tried an approach that the Amyik will not appreciate. He simply cannot tell.

"Oh... do you mean it?" Minqalli hugs all of you, and then accompanies you around the different exhibits, talking about each, excitedly. "I love seeing the different thought processes that go into each exhibit!"

After a bit, everyone gathers in the hall for another speech from Zovi. "My friends, it is people like you who--"
Zovi's speech is interrupted by smashing glass and gunfire. In the wreckage of the museum entrance stands a strike force of well-armed robbers. They rush into the lobby, knocking over displays, demanding valuables from the attendants, and pocketing any belongings they can get their hands on. Amyikesh grabs Zovi off the stage and rushes her deeper into the museum for safety.
“No sudden movements!” the leader of the gang shouts as he brandishes a gun. “We do this nice and orderly, and everyone goes home safe!”
Ehu is the first to move, slowly and deliberately approaching with four hands raised. “Easy. The people here are academics.” He begins moving to the side, drawing the attention attention of the leader. “They don't have whatever it is you're looking for, and even if they did, surely you could get it without this violence.”
With the robbers distracted, Radaszam turns to the other Starfinders and speaks in a hushed tone. “Ehu and I will take down their boss, you focus on these looters and make sure that these people make it out of here alive. On my signal.” He keeps his eyes on the mercenaries, calculating the best moment to strike. “Now."
At this, the room erupts into chaos. Ehu and Radaszam attack the leader of the robbers and the rest of the guests cower, rushing to the corners of the room or out into the street. A few of the guests, including Captain Alis Sandel and some security guards, draw weapons and leap into the fray.
You yourselves face off with four of the thugs as the fighting begins.

After you defeat the final mercenary, only their leader remains standing. As Ehu and Radaszam continue to fight this foe, Captain Sandel and Amyikesh lead the guests and attendants out of the museum to safety.
Before the you can join in battling the leader, you hear the sound of screams from deeper in the museum back toward the gallery exhibits.
Radaszam shouts at you, “We’ve got this handled. Go! Track down the other thieves! That’s an order!” The halls of the museum are littered with shattered glass, damaged displays, and broken belongings—remnants of the civilizations from the distant past, now destroyed forever.
There is no time to rest. Do you do anything special (spells, drinking a healing serum or a skill check) before you run in? You have about one round before Radaszam loses patience.

This map on Slide 6 may look eerily familiar. That's because the GM goofed and put you on the wrong map last time. You are now back on it, because it is the right map for this encounter. The dark blue boxes are all fragile display cases that house art. They provide cover, but can also shatter.

The gallery is eerily still compared to the chaos in the lobby. The blacked-out display cases are like silent monoliths. An android in edgy but fashionable black attire steps out from behind one of the cases, a solar sword manifesting her hand. She's joined by others, creating a semicircle around the room.
“It seems you're lost, little pets. All the fun is happening in the lobby.” She looks off to the doors behind her, as if calculating something. “I suppose it doesn't matter too much if you die here or there. Still, it'd be a shame to ruin these artifacts. You Starfinders care about preserving history, right?” She points her sword at the display beside her. “Back to the lobby now, little pets. Or we start getting clumsy.”
