Elena Endari
|
"I still feel we should get at least one of our other orders done first. If the crypt goes sideways it's unlikely they would leave us finish the rest..." she whispers to the group.
The White Rose Duelist
|
"On the other hand, if we run afoul of Dakang, we will have larger problems. Perhaps it's best to visit the crypt before his arrival?"
Elena Endari
|
"We got the meditation class and we already have permission to work on the library and we still need to draft a detailed plan of the garden’s layout additionally to the rubbings on the crypt... We are risking losing our chance to the library and the gardens just to get access to the crypt. It's a bad bet. If this Dakang doesn't want people to go in there, can we at least check the garden and ask what kind of 'immortal' he is first? I would hate to face someone's wrath without having an idea of what we are dealing with," Elena presses.
Piotr Lupescu
|
Piotr looks at the group, a bit puzzled.
"The sermon is in a few hours. That should be something to not miss. That gives us time to head to the crypts beforehand and check out what's in there. We have to go through the garden to get to the crypt, which gives us a chance to study the garden as well."
The scenario pretty much gave us a big hint to go to the crypt. I think we should take the opportunity.
Serata Minly
|
"Talking with Dakang is possible, however doing so before going to the crypts can possibly raise his suspicions and have its guarded off more so, or have us trailed, or something else, the rubbings shouldn't take too long to do, could get the rubbings while someone details, or works in the library start on the tasks and as one is finished go to another and get that done, and then all meet at the last one, while also attending the sermon. its not a certain set in stone means, but one possible way"
was suggesting the crypt cause I can sneak in with one or two, and get the rubbings done hopefully unnoticed, however thats the only reason
Elena Endari
|
"Alright. The less people that try to sneak in, less chances to get detected. We can move to the garden to work on the map and maybe distract the people there to let Serata slip in to the crypt."
Piotr Lupescu
|
"No, Elena and Serata."
Piotr shakes his head.
"I think it would be best that we all go to the crypt together. The first thing I learned in Dungeoneering 101 is 'Never split the party.'
Miriya told us we have the chance to go now. I think it's best to go... now."
Piotr slinks down the hall towards the library, keeping alert for any temple staff that might be lingering in the other hallways. He waves his arm, gesturing for his companions to follow.
Serata Minly
|
Following Piotr serata nods, she stays quiet and moves quickly,

"She said she would like to know what's there when we explore it. She didn't say we had to go now." she reminds him.
"You should let her be in the front and give her some leeway to sneak in. Your armor is a bit loud," she warns.
Elena will follow marching order and let Serata be at least 15ft ahead of her.

"Okay, everyone. We'll head south and around the library and into the garden. Then we'll zip over to the crypt. Sound good?"
Piotr whispers to his companions as the group slinks down the hallway.
| GM Nowruz |
You do not see anybody on the way to the crypts.
A15. Statuary Hallway
Most of the everburning lanterns hanging in this hall are dark, but the dimness does not diminish the grandeur of this corridor.
Along the north wall stand several statues, each depicting an angel or other good outsider. Some are depicted in dramatic poses befitting a holy warrior.
Others have heads bowed in eternal contemplation and hands cupping glass spheres. The southern wall bears a large set of double doors, but these doors are boarded up.
Smaller doors stand at opposite ends of the hall. A few bits of stone and other debris litter the floor and a musty odor hangs in the air.
What do you do?
Piotr Lupescu
|
"Well. These doors are boarded up. There's a set of double doors leading to the garden that we just passed. Should we head through those? Actually, maybe we should inspect these statues first and make notes in our journal."
Serata Minly
|
Serata will move to the accesibke door and inspect for traps, noises from the other side and if it is locked Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Upon determing it is clear she will move to open the door and head in alomg the wall to her right quietly to scope it out stealth: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (15) + 18 = 33
Elena Endari
|
Elena will aid Serata on perception in case she missed anything.
Perception Aid: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24 for a +4 (helpful).
The White Rose Duelist
|
Unless I can talk it into not attacking, I won't be much help.
Piotr Lupescu
|
Piotr slowly slides his sword from his back in preparation for any danger. He points the sword at the statue and turns his head toward Serata.
"Any chance you can disable that trap? We've got you covered in case any creatures come through that door."
He says, nodding towards the crypt door.
Serata Minly
|
"only one way to find out, lets see what happens" Serata tilts her head looking the statue like trap over as she moves and runs her fingers around it and tries to see if she can disable the trap Disable Device: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (15) + 14 = 29
Elena Endari

Elena moves close behind her and gives a peek inside looking for any threats.

Serata opens the door!
A16. Crypt
This vaulted mausoleum holds six large sarcophagi, each bearing the carved image of an aasimar dressed in ornate robes and holding glass spheres in one hand and a bell, a book, or a lotus flower in the other.
Innumerable runes crowd the top edges and sides of each sarcophagus. A solid wooden door stands near another door that has been boarded shut.
~
Additionally, you see three wretched human figures with tight leathery skin, sunken eyes, and an emaciated frame that seem to start moving with eerie alacrity.
You all receive a suprise round action - so only move or standard action please!
The White Rose Duelist

"I really hope Dakang didn't want his deceased ancestors wandering around in here."
The Duelist hurls a glob of magical acid at Brown.

Piotr the Wolf

Piotr is suddenly taken aback by the appearance of undead moving out from the shadows. He goes through the painful transformation into wolf form and howls menacingly at the creatures.
"Aaaaa-woooooo!!!"
Goe Lem

knowledge religion: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
Goe Lem steps forward and chants, Dymmak Altyn! and the crypt becomes deathly quiet.
5' step and cast silence. I think that is the furthest left I can see to center the emanation. Hoping that will keep anyone else in the complex from knowing there is fight going on in here.
Piotr the Wolf
|
Just as he was thinking of casting a spell to bless those around him...
Goe Lem steps forward and chants, Dymmak Altyn! and the crypt becomes deathly quiet.
...ooooP
Piotr looks around and just hears... silence. He tries to mutter something, and then pokes at his ear, but still... no sound.
With the sudden silence, there's no way for him to offer a prayer to Milani for assistance for his friends in this battle.
Just wondering why casting silence is a good idea.
Goe Lem
|
We are having a fight in a place we are not supposed to be. Fights are noisy. I thought it might be a good idea to not let everyone in the building know what we were doing. If a spell is really needed we can step out of the silent area and cast into it.
Piotr Lupescu
|
*sigh*
With all the closed doors and distance from the temple inhabitants, I really think noise wouldn't be a problem. My issue is that all of my standard action spells have verbal components, as well as my self-buff spells that are swift actions that I cast while in battle, which also, all have verbal components. But, oh well. I guess I can take a move action away from the battle and out of the silence to cast bless on the group.
Piotr Lupescu
|
I'm probably just going to go in there and hack away. Any chance for an update soon? I do understand it is a holiday weekend, though.
Elena Endari
|
Nowruz will be back on January 10th I think. Happy New Year everyone!

White Rose misses the agile creatures with her acid splash!
Serata hits a weak point in this creature's ancient body and slashes open the complete torso!
Elena's blade is too low and only hits the floor.
Goe Lem is able to silence all sound and also realizes that these are Juju Zombies which are resistant to all weapons that are not magical and slashing!
