Sl'P St'Reme |

A little retcon due to my short absence...
Sl'P watches as the shy looking Twi'Lek saunters over to the bar, never one to miss an opportunity to charm female members of just about any race... "Oh, hello there young lady, I..." Sl'P trails off as his attention seems to have gone elsewhere (something which may not be the reaction the Twi'lek was expecting) as he notices someone familiar across the room. A feint memory, an old acquaintance perhaps. Oh yes, "..am sorry, will you excuse me, I believe I just saw someone I know."
And with that, Sl'P moves away, pauses, returns to the bar, grabs his drink, and smiles, "Excuse me, again." winks at her, then, with a stern face, moves across the room to meet a Zabrak as he gets up from his table to move toward the bar. "Why you old good for nothin', spanner turner. You got a lot of nerve showing your face here after that stunt you pulled." Uncomfortable pause and a flinch later, "Toral, how you been? Been a long time!" Sl'P drops his tone to a conspiratorial whisper, "You still working for them pirates? I hope my sudden departure did not have any ill effect on your continued employment?" Sl'P offers his hand for a gentleman's shake as he speaks.
I had that conversation playing through my head since we chatted about combined backstories...

Toral Voth |

Toral's eyes fill with bewilderment when the Duros approaches him, but it is quickly replaced with recognition. "If I'd known I'd find you here I would never have gotten within three sectors of this place!" he retorts with a hearty laugh. He takes Sl'P's outstretched hand and shakes it firmly. "Good to see you, Sl'P. Should've known I'd find you in the middle of all the excitement."
The Zabrak man leans in, dropping his own voice to match Sl'P. "Not anymore. You should've seen the bantha-brained replacement they got to fly that scrap heap. All your confidence, but half the skill and none of the touch, you know?" He shakes his head and gives an exaggerated sigh. "Nearly lost my mind keeping that thing going. We, uh, might not have parted on the best terms. But at least the company's a lot better now." With this last sentence Toral jerks his head toward Anya and gives Sl'P a mischievous grin.

Sl'P St'Reme |

"Oh, so she is with you, then? Are you sure? I am not so sure..." all said with a twinkle in the eye and a wink. "C'om'on and meet the 'gang' ."
As they approach the group at the bar and careful to keep his voice low so as to not carry across the bar, "Gang, this Zabrak here is Toral Voth. He is the grease monkey that kept our ship going some time ago. If we find ourselves in possession of another, he should be able to make sure it flies." Pointing to each team member, he introduces them to Toral in turn.

![]() |

"Thank you Special Friend may you...." Anya starts as the Duros begins to greet her only to quickly move off and start talking to Toral.
`What the.... Oh, he must prefer boys,´ Anya muses while tracking him.
'Oh yeah. Comes in with tasty bit of tart like Milady, but isn't ogling her at all. Then ignores all of this right here only to beeline for Dudeman. Ooooooo. I get it. "Spanner Turner". We all know what -that- means. Not to judge.'
Anya giggles at the obvious double entendre, but stops quickly. "Oh, nevermind me. You two are chummers? That's chill."
Returning to Milady she answers cryptically, "I have partaken in certain moves against some organizations that could be called as 'empire-like'. I can hold my own.
And you guys have?"
Introduced to the others around the table Anya gives an equally polite greeting.
"And of course you must be the leader, being the strong and silent type, yeah?" she asks of the noble Braxen, trying to get a sense of him.

Qot La'Jal |

Silent so far, Qot finally smiles and extends her hand to Toral.
Nice to meet you, Toral. We do need some good news, so it's good to find a known face around... Especially someone who could potentially keep an old ship in one piece. You all can call me Qot.
The miraluka, then, takes her time to specifically approach Anya.
And nice to meet you too! Are you also some sort of... Engineer?

Por Kandino |

Going to let this scene play out; don't want to interrupt since it seems to be driving towards the key point of recruiting them

![]() |

'Engineer?'
For a woman that can make an honest claim on having been called more names than any other living soul, this one word seems to have broken something.
"Am I...how do...what would...have I...is that...huh."
'Did I -do- something that an engineer would do? No, I don't think so. I was doing the whole slave thing, right? Yeah, pretty sure I was. Well probably. Did I let something slip? Did I accidentally do something smart? Not sure. Did I offend her and she's just getting back to me? Is this, like, some high-level mind game? Oh boy I bet it is. Oh man I did -not- see this coming. I don't think I can talk my way out of this one. I better just go with the truth before I dig myself further in.'
"I'm a bounty hunter," Wraith blurts out, bluntly honest. "I make people think they're seeing one thing, and then they find out that's not the thing that was actually going on. I create an illusion until the target lets their guard down and then I get in, I get out, I get paid.
Well...usually," she adds a bit sheepishly. "This assignment, ain't exactly going like that right now."

Qot La'Jal |

Ah! - interjects Qot - So, a bounty hunter and a fixer walk in a cantina.
She completes with a smile, before continuing.
I learned better to avoid making assumptions based in appearance. I don't think I heard your name, however? - she finishes with an inquiry, turning her head sideways. For obvious reasons, Qot isn't looking directly at Anya at all - but she learned over the years to move her head between the voices being spoken as to pretend... She isn't what she is.

Miladγ |

"I'm a bounty hunter," Wraith blurts out, bluntly honest. "I make people think they're seeing one thing, and then they find out that's not the thing that was actually going on. I create an illusion until the target lets their guard down and then I get in, I get out, I get paid.
"My purpose is a similar one," Milady nods cryptically. "Guess the disguise and you'll win a prize."

Por Kandino |

You talk for a while more, and deciding to take at least these two along, you head to retrieve their gear en route towards the Sail Barge.
But as you are passing into the square a shadowy figure steps out.
"Stop right there," a familiar voice intones, "Yousa be coming with meesa now!" You see the Gungan from earlier, holding out what appears to be a bounty chip featuring your pictures, "Deesa Empire pay big bucks for yousa losers!"
He nods, and from the shadows step out six more figures- four old battle droids, a beefy looking weequay, and a Jawa.

![]() |

I'm Anya. WhiteAngel. But people call me Wraith 'cause in kinda blend in. Not look myself. But I'm sure got all that. Me an' Toral got in a hair before the shutdown.
Qot, Anya introduced herself before.
"So then I says, 'Where do you find a bantha with no legs?' And he says, 'Right where you left it!'"
Anya snorts are her little joke, drains the last of her bulb of ale she got to go, and stuffs it in a cargo pocket for proper disposal later. She's no monster.
She had kept up a steady stream of bad jokes from the bar. She found it helped to break the ice with new people, and it helped them look like normal folk, just walking around.
When she's suddenly accosted by a rival bounty hunter, she's a little surprised. But only a little.
She gives an almost imperceptible nod at Toral, as if to say 'Yeah, the thing that you think is gonna happen is gonna happen and real soon.'
In a blink her face goes from casual tourist to something deep and sensual. A purposeful stride converts it's momentum into sway and slink.
"Awww, I always thought I'd be caught some day. But I didn't know it would be by such a smart and -powerful- specimen such as yourself." Her svelte arms, clad in leather as soft as feathers, wave almost hypnotically toward the Gungan as she steps purposefully toward him.
"How much are they paying you, handsome?" her honeyed tongue pours out. "Surely there must be _something_ we can do to make this whole thing just...blow away?"
Fast talk Con!: 5d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 5, 3, 1) = 18

Sl'P St'Reme |

"Losers? Big bucks? Are you sure you have done this before, cause that is not how these things really work. You know what, let me see that holo...so like that is not even me...see, no floppy hat..." Sl'P points to the hat he is wearing to emphasize his point. If there is enough time, he will glance around to ensure no one from this 'ambush' is still in hiding.
Perception: 2d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (6, 6) + (4) = 16 Kinda wish I saved that for the inevitable fire fight, oh well

Braxen Graldosse |

As the Gungan and his band of hooligans approach the group, Braxen would step forward to speak to the leader, then look to Anya as she steps forward instead.
I'm going to try to bribe him, but I can't find rules for helping with skills, I'll just roll it individually.
Con: 3d6 + 1 ⇒ (2, 3, 4) + 1 = 10
"Yes, don't you think we can end this peacefully? I personally see no reason why not." He says, emphasizing his last words by gently tossing a bag of credits into the air.

Por Kandino |

"Ohsa! Sure, sure! Meesa not un-reasonable! Too easy- yousa have 50,000 credits? Too easy! Oh, yousa don't? Moff Taydoon put 10,000 EACH on these four- plus hessa promised clearance to get offa thissa rock! Pretty sure this is the trigger for some combat

The players will be going first; FYI I am traveling the next two days so will proabably not update except simple things I can do from my phone until Sunday late afternoon/evening

Sl'P St'Reme |

Seeing as the greedy Gungan cannot be reasoned with, Sl'P draws his blaster and lights up one of the clankers:
Blaster: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 1, 4) = 9 -1D for drawing the weapon first; -1D for second shot
Damage: 5d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 1, 6, 5) = 20
Blaster: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 5, 4) = 16 -1D for drawing the weapon first; -1D for second shot
Damage: 5d6 - 7 ⇒ (1, 1, 6, 1, 1) - 7 = 3 WTF?

![]() |

"10 Thousand!" Anya yells in surprise. "Frag, if Ida known I was worth that much I wudda turned myself in."
No sooner has Wraith finished her observational sentence then she seemlessly swings her first around in a gut punch on the loud-mouthed Gungan. The gloves on her hands, soft, well-worked leather of a kind for driving or light gardening, suddenly glow with the tell-tale horrible blue light of capacitors preparing a debilitating discharge.
Punching!: 4d6 + 1 ⇒ (3, 6, 6, 1) + 1 = 17
Punching damage with strength punching and stun gloves punching!: 5d6 + 2 ⇒ (2, 4, 1, 3, 1) + 2 = 13

A drawer ejects out of Milady's thigh, from which she pulls a pistol out of her hollow leg, firing at the Gungan from the hip.
"Where did they get our pictures? I deleted all the footage," she murmurs, distraught and scattered.

Por Kandino |

Technically its only 10,000 a piece for the four who were on the first mission, but don't worry I'm sure the two newcomers wille arn bounties on their heads soon enough

Toral Voth |

Toral's eyes widen in surprise as he draws his own blaster and fires at one of the droids.
So it's an action to draw and -1d6 for each consecutive action, right?
Draw weapon from hidden holster (Dex): 3d6 + 1 ⇒ (1, 1, 2) + 1 = 5 Oof.
Let's try again!: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (2, 5) + 1 = 8

I do not think you need a check to draw the weapon (at least we have not had to yet, not strenuous enough), you just have to sacrifice the D to doing more than one action in the round. I suffered a second lost D since I fired twice, I normally have a 6D blaster shot...

I thought you had to in order to draw from a hidden holster. I forgot to switch one to a regular holster before getting going with introductions and combat. Maybe not though? I'm learning as I go.

Por Kandino |

So it is an Easy Dex roll to draw from a concealed holster- so target number is 10; going to rule that failing that just requires you to spend the turn getting it out
Toral fumbles, but is finally able to draw out his concealed blaster.
SI'P's first shot goes wide, but his second shot hits the droid.
Resist: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 3) = 7 but does no damage!
Gungan Dodge,-1d6 for second action: 6d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 2, 5, 4, 6) = 27 The Gunan dances and dodges out of the way of Milady's incoming shot!
Pending Qot's action
Braxen- which target are you shooting at- there are four battle droids, a Jawa, a Wwequay holding a vibrostaff, and the Gungan
Anya- Slide 5 shows our current sitution and you're pretty far way from anyone to punch will require movement to a target

Sl'P St'Reme |

That will teach me to not check slides before going off half cocked...I thought they had us surrounded...
Sl'P notices his blaster bolts effectively bounce off the old clankers and shouts out, "Oh, crap. Umm, hide!"

Por Kandino |

If she did, I missed it and he would have shot her- and Anya would know that trying to walk up to him would have resulted in her being shot in that situation.

Por Kandino |

pending Qot; I’ll resolve the round and have enemies act this afternoon; sorry travel and what I had to do at the house when I got home got away from me and I only got half my games updated

Qot focus to try to enter in her Lightsaber Combat stance, and tries to hide behind a bush to get some more protection from the incoming fire.

Please, careful with civilians... - she says, impressed with the granade explosion - Man, I still love his long ears and dummy tongue. A pity he's so wrong about his alliances!

Qot unfortunately fails to activate her lightsaber combat.
Anya throws a grenade:
Jawa Resist: 2d6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (5, 1) + 2 + 2 = 10 the Jawa is stunend by Braxon's shot.
Droid 1 Resist: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 6) = 12 one droid is stunned.
Droid 2 Resist: 3d6 - 5 ⇒ (1, 2, 4) - 5 = 2 the second is incapacitated
Weequay Resist: 5d6 - 7 ⇒ (1, 1, 6, 5, 3) - 7 = 9 the Weequay is wounded
Gungan Resist: 5d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 6, 3, 1) + (5) = 23 but the Gungan remains unharmed!

Damage: 5d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 2, 2, 4) = 15
And Si'P:
Blaster Rifle: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 2) = 9 miss!
The Gungan takes cover behind the fountain and returns fire at Anya:
Heavy Blaster Pistol, -1d: 6d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 5, 1, 6, 5) + (5) = 30 hit!

Strength!: 4d6 + 2 ⇒ (5, 1, 4, 6) + 2 = 18
The Gungan's blast burrows through the tree she's hiding behind and SLAMS into the reinforced chest plate in her fashionable blast vest. 'Oooo, that'll leave a bruise tomorrow' she thinks, though otherwise her hard body handles it well.
"My turn, omae," she says deciding to take out the roiling Weequay.
Shooting with guns!: 6d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 6, 6, 6, 3) = 26

Sl'P St'Reme |

Sl'P huddles up to the tree near Qot and takes three shots at the droids to the south:

damage 3: 5d6 - 7 ⇒ (1, 3, 6, 6, 2) - 7 = 11
this dice roller, either I hit and do negligible damage or miss and have outstanding damage...there is like, no in between

Qot La'Jal |

Qot covers her head, keeping her staff at hands, and skips behind another tree to try to focus.
Control: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 3) = 10
Come on, come on... - says the young Luka Sene padawan, visibly nervous with the shots being fired - My colleagues need me...

Toral Voth |

Toral darts to his left, taking cover before raising his now-freed blaster and taking a shot at one of the battle droids.
So -1D to the shot since that's two actions, right?
Blaster w/ Wild Die: 3d6 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 6) + 1 + (1) = 19

Yes Braxen it's STR+ Armor bonus- but I think if you're in the scout armor that's still a wound.
Braxen is wounded from the shot and loses his action this round.
Milady hits a battle droid:

Qot continues to struggle to center herself in the force.
Anya hits the weequy:

The one battle droid that can act fires at Anya:
Blaster -1d6 cover: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 5) = 10 and a lucky shot barely hits her!
Damage: 5d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 2, 6, 2) = 18
Seeing his opening, the Weekquy moves forward and slashes at Anya with his force pike
Melee -1d6 Wound, -1d6 two actions: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 4, 3) = 13 but narrowly misses her!
The Gungan surveys the scene and picks out Toral as the most dangerous target currently, firing at him:
Blaster, -2d6 for cover: 5d6 - 7 ⇒ (1, 6, 1, 3, 2) - 7 = 6 but his shot hits the cover in front of him!
The Jawa rushes forward and fires it's flame thrower at Si'P

Though Anya normally held battle droids in disdain for their primitive firing algorithms, having one fire at you WHILE an angry weequy barreled down while swinging a nasty-looking forcepike made one re-evaluate one's priorities.
As the battle droid sends a blast of deadly laser at her, she bends at the waist and, moving with a dancer's grace, tries to make herself harder to hit.
Reaction Dodge! -1D for two actions, Spec in E-weapons: 5d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 5, 1, 5) = 16
Artfully she keeps the momentum of the spin going and her unorthodox technique also saves her from being force-pike-kebabed.
"Awww. You wanna come and cuddle me Huny?" Anya purrs as the weequy comes so close she can smell his breakfast. "You got lonesome alllll the way over there an' you wanted to see me up close? Ahhh, that's so sweet. And sweetness should be rewarded. We should go to bed.

If I understand the dice reductions correctly, the -1D for your reaction is correct, but it would not carry over to the new round of initiative, unless you declared ahead of time you were also dodging as an action in the new round. You will still be able to react later in the round, Sl'P had to do it when we fought the stormtroopers more than once.

Sl'P St'Reme |

Not sure the action cost here, but I suspect my minor move is good, but pushing Braxton toward a tree will cost me a D from my shooting, if it happens not to, then Sl'P would take another shot
Sl'P watches helplessly as Braxton takes one to the chest, he reacts by crossing the short distance to him as he says, "Damn it Braxton! Do you not know how to take cover?" as he shoves him toward the tree he just left and lines up a shot on another droid:

yes- but if it counts against last round you should have taken the penalty on your attacks- winning initiative doesn’t mean you get to attack at full dice and then add a dodge, the raw way to do this is to declare a dodge when you act if you intend to use one that round
