Sorry, I had a SNAFU on my last post (last night). The constructs, not the guns, are immune to any magic with SR. I recognized I'd erred and edited my post immediately before going to bed...but it appears the site ate my edit. So in short, Narika's iceball took out the far gun but had no effect on the constructs, so their damage has been adjusted...

No apologies necessary, Rudzik, you clearly stated it on the damage roll...that was all my bad...I'll blame it on these old eyes...I'll adjust the damage...

Zaarah's black blade cuts into he red contruct's crystal like butter for her first attack, piercing deep into its torso...however, the crystal construct ignores the shock as if it had no effect...her other attacks fail to penetrate the construct...

The red construct retaliates against Zaarah...

Slam: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (18) + 22 = 40
Damage: 2d10 + 9 ⇒ (2, 7) + 9 = 18

Slam: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (18) + 22 = 40
Damage: 2d10 + 9 ⇒ (6, 4) + 9 = 19

...both fists slamming into her trying to drive her to the ground...

(Need a Fly check, Zaarah, or you drop 10'; which would drop you to the ground if you failed, I guess?)

Target: 1d2 ⇒ 2

...while the purple attacks Darkpaw...

Slam: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (17) + 22 = 39
Damage: 2d10 + 9 ⇒ (9, 4) + 9 = 22

...and its fist connects with the wolf's right shoulder...

GM, I think fly checks are only necessary when taking damage in case wings are used for flight. This is not the case for magical flight.

Attacked While Flying:
You are not considered flat-footed while flying. If you are flying using wings and you take damage while flying, you must make a DC 10 Fly check to avoid losing 10 feet of altitude. This descent does not provoke an attack of opportunity and does not count against a creature's movement.

The ship had been quiet ever since we first boarded; the only access further seems to be through a sealed door in a compartment below the main deck. One of my men attempted to break through the door just before you arrived, which is apparently what activated the ship’s defenses. Again, we're grateful..."

Zaarah, the door he mentioned lies below deck; I put your icon on the stairs leading below to the aforementioned door. I wasn't sure if you wanted to go alone or await the others...

As you search, you see the topside decks the King Xeros are multi-level and lack any sort of railing, lying between the obelisk-like tower to the west and the superstructure at the ship’s stern. A series of stairs
connect the foredeck, mid deck, upper deck, and abaft deck. There is a gangway in the upper deck that leads to the deck below but no access from the decks to the command structure. Despite there being no railing, there are ominous plinths, lumps, and nodules situated here and there along the edges of the deck.

To the east is the aforementioned towering superstructure of crystal that rises above the topside decks at the ship’s stern. A great, convex lens of opaque crystal seems to take up most of its forward face, flanked by facet-cut segments of the hull. Wide, sail-like extensions of crystal extend out from the command structure perpendicularly—parallel to the water...

The only magic Ghukar detects is the faint glow of the obelisk-like tower to the west...it is a solid structure though, there is no entry to it...

The opposite end of the compartment has a single door in the bulkhead, seemingly constructed of a single piece of crystal. Lying beside it is an ornate heavy axe with a head of a lustrous silvery metal. From the markings in and around the door, you assume the dead Guardsmen were attempting to bash their way through the door with said axe...

Zaarah also fails to enter on the second attempt...but the third time’s the charm as she enters and disappears from her companions’ view...and the door returns to looking like it was before to the rest of you...

As Ghukar examines the door, when he gets within 10' of it, the door again takes on a shimmering aspect as if viewed through a rippling pond...

Ghukar:
You feel the door attuning to you...if you wish to enter, roll an Intelligence check to see if you succeed...

Zaarah Only:
You make it through the door/portal and finder yourself in an adjoining cabin...the door you came through is now a crystal wall on your side and you have no way back...

A strangely shaped cabin stretches forward, but its dimensions are difficult to make out due to its alien features. Odd, man-sized cubicles seem to be stacked into the bulkheads themselves throughout the room, but whether sleeping berths, holding cells, or simply shelving is unclear. Their true purpose is further masked by the growths of ghostlike plant life that hang throughout the room. Like thick tendrils of ivy and great curling leaves, these colorless tangles and shoots mat the walls, twist upon the deck, and dangle in curtains from the overhead, eerily shifting in and out of phase as they protrude through solid surfaces and each other alike. It is as if sections of them are wholly present and other parts are mere ghost reflections of the strange plant life. The result is a wraithlike maze of otherworldly growths and tangles.

Rudzik mutters darkly as two Pathfinders blithely wander through a strange door. "You able t' make any sense o' this?" he asks Narika. "Seeing as it's magic 'n all that." He dismounts Wilk and compares the size of the door to the size of the wolf.

If the door's large enough for a medium creature, a large one should be able to squeeze through as far as I know. Of course, if the scenario specifically says a large creature can't fit through, then they can't fit. Rudzik does have a scroll of carry companion if that's the case.

Grand Lodge

Yeah, I can roll with that...the door on the map looks smaller than 5' wide, but I'm not sure it's to scale and I was probably being too finicky...so we'll say he can squeeze through normally. However, there's another issue of how you enter and it's a little more problematic...since you're at the door, you'll see below...

Rudzik moves to examine the door...as before with both Zaarah & Ghukar, the door starts to shimmer...

Rudzik:
You sense the door attuning to you...if you wish to attempt to proceed through it, roll a Dexterity check. However, since the door is attuned to only you, Wilk can not come through with you...although you could use your scroll to carry him through with you...

This is what I was talking about above...the door only attunes to one person/creature at a time. Since Wilk is within 10' of the door, the door would likely attune to him next. You know Wilk best; while I'm guessing he would try to follow his master, would he continue to try if he failed the first time or two?

This ship is strange. Why not just make normal doors? Sometimes wizards are too clever for their own good.

Once we've figured out how this works, Kramac will pull out a scroll of Carry Companion, and ask Rudzik to cast it on Beak. I have 4 castings left if anyone else with a companion would like to avail themselves of it.

Since Ghukar and Zaarah appear to be awaiting the rest of you, we'll streamline this. Re-read more on the door and now I'm pretty well convinced the only way your animal companions can accompany you through the door when it becomes a portal, is if you carry them with you via the carry companion scroll(s)...

Narika detects the door as magical, as both a portal and a scanner of sorts...she thinks it may screen folk before allowing entry. She also thinks it only scans for humanoid-like beings. In addition, Narika detects magic on the ornate heavy axe...

If the rest of you approach the door as Zaarah, Ghukar, & Rudzkik have, here's how we'll streamline it. As each of you approach, the door will shimmer and you'll sense it attuning to you. To attempt entry, roll an ability check using your highest ability score's mod. Go ahead and post those at your leisure and, after Rudzik enters, I'll go by post order. If you wish to try anything different, I'll deal with that in post order as well...

Rudzik scowls as Narika tells them about the door’s properties. ”So who knows where we’ll find ourselves in th’ other side,” he mutters darkly. ”Figures.” With a snap of his fingers, he points at the floor. Wilk obediently sits, but whines. ”Don’t worry - you’ll be back before y’ know it,” the ranger says softly as he scratches the wolf’s chin. With his other hand, he pulls out a scroll from his pack and unrolls it slightly. With another snap, Wilk vanishes and a small stone statue of a wolf sits on the ground. Rudzik scoops it up and carefully puts it in his belt pouch. ”Right, Kramac, y’ need this too on yer bird? What about you, Peribras?”

Kramac mentioned he had a scroll of carry companion already, but if Peribas doesn’t he’s welcome to use a casting from Rudzik’s.
