This is how to build your profile bar:
Open your profile in another tab so that you can refer back to here, then click on the [ Edit My Profile ] button.
Enter the following in the fields given (yes, these are out of order from how they appear in your profile, but this order will put them in the correct order on your bar):
Gender: F Twi'lek Mercenary Soldier ( Br 3 )( Ag 3 )( In 2 )( Cu 3 )( Wi 2 )( Pr 3 ) [ Soak 5 . Wounds 0/13 . Strain 0/13 ] [ M 0 . R 0 ]
This should be: Gender, Species, Specialization, Characteristics, Soak, Wounds/Threshold, Strain/Threshold, Melee Defense, Ranged Defense
Race: | Athletics 2, Brawl 2, Coordination 2, Leadership 2, Melee 2, Ranged (Light) 2, Ranged (Heavy) 2, Stealth 2
This should be: | skills you are trained in
Class/Levels: | Adversary 1, Point Blank 2, Side Step 1, Stalker 1 | Shadowed
This should be: | talents | special abilities
Then change them to match your character.

Anonymous NPC |

Small change:
Instead of commas as separators for skills and talents, use space-period-space. It spreads things out just a bit more and makes it easier to read. I used a Unicode Middle Dot character (·), which I like better. You could copy it here and paste it in, or just use a period. :)
Thanks!
Also, when you craft your posts, there is a handy cheat sheet for formatting your text just below the dialogue box: "How to format your text."
Play around with them in here. You will be using Bold and out-of-character a lot. But you can also do italics, strikethrough, and a bunch of other html codes as well.

Anonymous NPC |

"Hi friends! This is me talking," the anonymous stranger said as she was explaining different markups for posting.
"This is me shouting," she said over the noise of the crowd.
This should be a lot of fun, she thought while talking to her friends.
And this is out-of-character text.
If you hit the [Reply] button, you can see how I accomplished these.
We use "bold" text in quotes for dialogue.
We use italic text (no quotes) for inner monologue.
We use out-of-character text for off-topic remarks.
And we use unmodified text for narration.

Anonymous NPC |

A Word of Warning
The Forumbeast will eat some of your posts as you are submitting them. Do yourself a favor, and either compose the post in Notepad (or something similar) and copy-paste it over here, or select your whole post and copy it to your clipboard before submitting. It will save you a bunch of frustration.

Ok. This is much better. Doing this on a phone was super tough and I am super not use to this style of game play.
I think that since we are under such hot pursuit that we may want to break off or split up to lose them. We can't out fight them. If we can create a diversion or smoke screen that might give us a chance to escape and may even distract while a couple of us circle back to get what we came for.
Bobby, mechanics check for trying to get the bike to smoke?

Forgive me as i stumble just a bit getting up to speed with doing RPGs this way

Ni' Kol Yazmin |

I also have 2 in Stealth and 1 in Streetwise. I could try to see if there is anyplace around us to hide or run to. Perhaps there is someplace or someone sympathetic to our situation and to the Hutts?

No worries, Eric. Feel free to shoot me a Facebook message if you have any questions you want sorted out. :)

Hey Nato, you should go crazy with the threat. We need to eliminate the guy who got a read on your bike. Maybe reading the code caused him to lose attention and crash into something? Make him a sitting duck for some blaster to the face? Dunno.

It's not really just one guy with the code, though. They are a unit.
Despair and Triumph don't cancel each other, so the effects shouldn't directly cancel each other either. They can be equally strong effects, and can certainly mitigate one another, but only indirectly. :)
In other words, you can use it for something as powerful as "PlanSec has your license plate number," but it cannot be "PlanSec does NOT have your license plate number."
lol

Tarlor Choh |

I mean, I wasn't thinking he'd be dead. The Despair was saying "Sure he has our ID, but he's crashed and now we have a chance to get him". That doesn't seem like a direct "NOPE" but more of creating further chaos. Maybe that's too narrow a difference and it's still too much of a direct opposite of the Triumph.

Ok, I see. I misread what you wrote. Carry on. Other suggestions?

There are a few things here. The smoking of my bike was not only to provide cover for us but to also distract them. ditch my bike, let the fire grab everyone's attention and disappear into the crowd. I can help block transmissions if i can get to a communications terminal and hopefully prevent our ids for being transmitted or download important info on PlanSec and other things. Lets not risk everything on a petty anty theft right off the bat. Save that for the "big dirty", the "big grift", our "long con" if you will.... Plan sec are idiots and we can ditch them, just give them something else to worry about before this really escalates. I did not have enough credits to buy a gun only slicer equipment so I'm running and going to stealth into the crowd as soon as I can. FYI. Information is more important to my character than some stolen parts, even with the Hutts looking over our shoulders. Unless, of course, those parts lead to more information or helps Ni'Kol to hide said info.

Ven'ator'prae |

Sorry to be late to the party. How to spend the despair? What if in their effort to get my ID, they accidentally switch to our frequency? They would still have the info but would have just sent it to us, and maybe we could get the frequency PlanSec transmits at, through...science? If not that then having them crash would be great too. Or both?!

GM Bobby |

Again, I'm going to veto anything that directly invalidates PlanSec having your plates.
Here are some other ideas, though:
● One of the landspeeders crashes;
● After reporting your plates to dispatch, their comms go dead — no more reports back to dispatch, no more reinforcements.
● Two civilian vehicles crash between PlanSec and Nato. This will slow all of the pursuing landspeeders down.
● Something else...

Tarlor Choh |

I'll admit I am frustrated by them having the plates because it just seems like SUCH a setback for 1 despair on an otherwise unrelated roll. If those plates get out the identity of one of our syndicate is up from the get go. If this truly were a crime story with evil characters the next thing we would do is put several bullets in Nato's head and leave him so they can't trace him back to us.

Couldn't I change my ID code? I would think the slicer might have ways? Otherwise, I'd ditch the bike and get a new one...No need to shoot me! (As an incidental I pull my blaster and shoot first!)

I hear you. I understand.
Trust me, I won't let it be that bad. No need to shoot poor Nato. I don't think PlanSec having your plates is the same as SPD having them. Moreover, on Axxila, the PlanSec backlog for investigations is probably substantial. :)
In fact, the police response in this case is out of line with the severity of the crime. Something else is probably going on.
Also, your characters aren't supposed to be evil. They are supposed to be more like Han Solo.

I have been watching "The Blacklist" where like a single piece of ID let's the feds know where you are, what job you have, who you know, etc. So I may be forgetting that Star Wars lacks a lot of data-integration and communications services.

GM Bobby |

Ok guys, the game seems to have stalled out, and I want to get us back on track.
Do you want me to call "Cut" on this scene and move onto the next? I'm happy to do so, but I wanted to check in with you first. First two votes in favor of either direction will take it.
◯ Yes, call "Cut" on this scene.
◯ No, let's continue with the chase.
This isn't a high-tech poll. Just type your responses below. :)

Ildun De |

I would say cut. I can't think of much to do at this point other than drive. I can definitely do that still but it doesn't really add much narratively.

Ven'ator'prae |

I'm sorry for holding it up. Nursing school beckoned and I didn't set time to aside to figure out what I'd to write as my narrative in my attempt to escape...If I could submit what happened while in the bar talking with everyone I'll crunch something up?

GM Bobby |

No worries, Ryan. :)
@Everyone*: I still need your answers to the six questions. In case you forgot, they are:
1. Name or describe 5 crimes you want to see in the story. This can be as simple as “train robbery” or as complex as “the gang will try to boost processed coaxium from a moving train before a rival gang gets there.”
2. Name 5 individuals or organizations you would be excited to see make an appearance in the story. I'm asking for 5 just to give me a wide range of ideas. I love the “Gonk” power droid, but a Gonk cameo might not mean as much to you as someone like Ahsoka would. When creating this list, keep in mind the set and setting of the campaign (we probably won't see Luke or Leia, because they are 5 years old at this time).
3. Name 5 Outer Rim locations you would like to see in a Star Wars crime story. These can be as general (“an asteroid base”) or as specific (“Jabba's Palace”) as you want.
4. Give me 5 names for swoop-bike gangs. Names that resemble “Sand Worms” will not count. :P
5. Give me 5 names for NPCs that sound like Star Wars names.
6. Tell me your 5 favorite vehicles (of any size) in Star Wars.
I also need everyone's Obligation type and the nature of the obligation, so that I can start rolling on that.
* When I say everyone, I don't mean Jorn. He's on top of it. Be like Jorn. ;)

Ildun De |

I like the idea of starting a brawl.
Bobby I haven't had a chance to figure out what the rules are for repairing vehicles or healing my strain. I guess we'll have the speeders from this so it doesn't matter if they are fixed yet or not.

Your personal strain is all healed at this point. :) System strain to your bikes requires repair.
Regarding the last gameplay post, with the battery arc:
That seems like a very powerful effect, even with the Triumph. The two Imperials are Rivals, not minions, and the landspeeder had 4 issues that I had planned.
I will leave this to the group: do we bypass 2 opponents, and a set of skill challenges with the use of a single roll?
I would probably lean toward allowing the Triumph to knock out one of the two Imperials, and the other take stun damage from electricity. Is this too stingy?
What I'm concerned about is getting into a pattern of, go into a room, first person to act clears the room of all/most of the challenges, move to the next room.
But those are just my concerns. As I said, I will leave it to the group. :)

Ildun De |

It did feel a bit strong (there was a reason I made it daunting difficulty). I am good with taking one out and some stun damage on the other for the triumph. It was late and I meant to come in here and ask if that was a good use for the triumph, cause I was drawing a blank.

![]() |

If it's Rebels, it's not that strong. If it's Episode IV-VI, it's a little strong. Also, it doesn't mean things will always be this way, as enemies will be stronger, so even our Triumphs may not be as amazing, right?
Bobby, how does looting work in this system? Can we steal weapons from enemies we drop?

GM Bobby |

Bobby, how does looting work in this system? Can we steal weapons from enemies we drop?
Yes. But there is no need to loot the bodies for profit. Instead, I will just be giving a steady stream of cash. Sort of how it works in PFS.
So the two times it makes sense to rummage through someone's pockets are: (1) you need a weapon for immediate use; or (2) there is some plot device item that you are looking for. For the latter, I will usually just have you find the item, though.

Ok, let's go with that. :)

Tarlor Choh |

Yo gang, still offering that medical check on someone besides myself from our previous down time. Probably might want it before we get into more fights. ;)
Also, I will pretty quickly be getting some ranks in Medicine, so I can take on that roll for the team too.

Ildun De |

Tarlor I am glad we are on the same page of thinking on the droid!

Ven'ator'prae |

I was thinking maybe one of us try and chase down the droid and either blast it, or try and shut it down (somehow) I'd be happy to chase but I'd only be able to shoot it...What do y'all think?

I concur Nato, stop that droid. Also remember everyone, bringing something above its wounds threshold doesn't necessarily mean death/explosion. Just out of action. We can still repair the droid even if we drop it first.

Ildun De |

We can still repair the droid even if we drop it first.
That is an excellent point. And we have the added benefit of being able to work on reprogramming it while its out of commission too.

Ven'ator'prae |

What now? Fix the speeder, then if there's a computer see if we can get access at least to layout of the base? maybe where the weapons might be, and where database could be?

GM Bobby |

I'll let you guys decide what comes next. But you don't need to wait for Ildun to make his checks that I called for. We can put everything back in the right order later. Let's just hear what you guys want to do. :)
