Eiseth smiles wickedly at Jack...a smile that does not reach her eyes. "Step forward, you foolhardy and impudent ifrit...'twould be a shame for such a pretty one as yourself to die foolishly when I could think of other endeavors you might be best at...but the challenge is offered and must be answered. I assume with your arrogance, you wish a fight to the death? And surely you do not fight alone?"
GM Otha
|
Eiseth nods to an Erinyes. ”Cerinthiel, you’ll manage this match as I have business elsewhere...I already know the result any way...”
Cerinthiel nods. ”Yes, mistress. So, mortals...will you fight to the death? If not, convince me why...and what collateral will you offer to make it so?”
If you wish a nonlethal match:

Would Profession (wrestler) work here?
"The People's Champion isn't in the business of ending careers - even for the bunch of jabronis you've got lined up in there. If he takes them out there, you'll have that many less competitors in the future to tide the Croc's fans over until his next return", the huge wrestler reasons.
Diplomacy to Aid someone else: 10 + 10 = 20
GM Otha

Sorry Croc, it only mentions those above and since it's haggling thing, don't think that one would fit...unless you're Hulk Hogan or Dusty Rhodes, perhaps. :)
Also, everyone feel free to read the spoiler in my post above...it details what your collateral will be if you lose a nonlethal match so you can better base your decision on lethal/nonlethal.
Dioneo II Starnon
|
Dioneo scoffs.
"My good... lady. Lethal fights are so overrated. These are things from yesterday! We have so much to offer when non-lethal becomes available!"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (6) + 19 = 25
GM Otha
|
The Erinyes smirks and nods to Dioneo. "Point taken...but what do you offer as collateral, should you lose?"
It's obvious to each of you, she thinks you will lose...and badly...
Jack Blakros
|
Jack whispered to Dioneo, quieter than his stage whisper that he did earlier at the hag's shop. "Non-lethal puts us at a massive disadvantage. Bombs aren't non-lethal, sneak attacking isn't non-lethal, offensive spells aren't non-lethal. Non-lethal is an option purely to make us lose."
GM Otha
|
So, is that two for lethal and two for nonlethal? (Having GM’ed Ridley with his bombs several times, I believe he’d choose lethal). Any more input?
Sorrow of the Ten Masks
|
1 is Lethal, 2 is Non Lethal: 1d2 ⇒ 2
"...I vote for non-lethal..." Sorrow whispers hesitantly.
Dioneo II Starnon
|
Actually, Jack is right. I posted in haste yesterday evening but I think Dioneo will use best his abilities with lethal blasts.
Dioneo seems to ponder what Jack said ans nods.
"You speak the truth, my friend. And even if I don't think we will lose, I don't even want my decision to tie any of us with a dark bargain. I vote for lethal."
Ridley Zane
|
Ridley would vote for lethal. Can we do some middle ground where we use lethal damage but it is agreed that once you go unconscious you are out?
GM Otha
|
Ridley, it's not very explicit at all; and from how some of the instructions for the combatant devils, it kinda implies that you use lethal force but no one dies. So we'll run with that, if y'all choose non-lethal. Just need to know if y'all make a Dark Bargain or 1 PP per PC as collateral...
Edgar Poe
|
"Non-Lethal works for me as well."
Dioneo II Starnon
|
Dioneo nods.
"Very well."
I'm ok with lethal force with nobody dying. I'd prefer the 1pp per PC.
After the talking, he casts a simple spell on each willing pathfinder.
"Who wants and needs a ward against fire?"

You are led to one gate of the arena and told to make your entrance. As you enter you see raucous devils, guards, and other races jeering and screaming for blood.
You notice the hypogeum dominates the middle of the arena and look at it carefully as you enter:
You also notice an eery river flowing through the south part of the Arena...
Eiseth’s champions emerge from the hypogeum below the middle of the arena and line up on the opposite side as you. The same foes you had seen before, two Erinyes and a stout devil with a large battle axe. The devils salute toward Eiseth’s palace and await for Cerenthiel to start the match.
Cerenthiel arises from her booth overlooking the arena. "These doomed mortals challenged Eiseth's champions to a non-lethal match." The crowd jeers and boos at you. "Silence! It is their right, cowardly as it may be, and they have provided collateral for compensation when they lose."
She holds up a blood-red hanky, saying "Let the match begin!" and drops the hanky...

Jack happily accepts the increased fire resistance and pulled out his own wands to buff or arm anyone else that needed it with Mage Armor, Instant Weapon, Reduce Person, and Shield. He tapped himself with the Shield spell right before the fight started and gripped his sword and pistol.
"This is going to be really stupid. Sorry ahead of time, but I don't want us to fight near that pit. Get there when you can."
With that, Jack tapped his heels together and his movements accelerated to an even more ludicrous speed. He flipped off one of the erinyes as a challenge to her and darted forward, trying to catch her off-guard before making his opening attacks, and dropped his gun after firing because he didn't care about reloading.
