From earlier post: There are two sets of cargo doors that should lead below deck as well as two doors at the aft of the ship; one appears to lead into a cabin and one probably opens to stairs going down to the hold.

The party finds nothing else of note (or evil) in the cabin. Taking a look in the cargo hold you can see four large crates and Dog thinks he sees something looking like a trap door in the bottom of the hull.

The bottom of the stairs also appears to be free of traps. The hold of the ship is dank and a little cold. Weed observes that there is pooled water here and there in the hold but that the area where the trap door is appears to be completely dry.

Tarvoth's light gives Weed a clear view of the hold and where the pooled water is. Weed advances another 5' into the hold detecting no traps as Dar bravely (foolishly?) gets to the foot of the stairs. The rest of the party observes from the top of the stairs.

Weed's cautious approach pays off as he sees one of the crate on the far side of the trap door quiver for a moment before long, glistening tentacles shoot out from the center towards him.

Rapid shot feat says it can be used when making a full attack action, so you wouldn’t be able to use while slowed.
