Khoda Issad |
Sorry, yesterday was super hectic. Left work for 2.5 hours to take my wife to the OBGYN for our 38 week visit. Then came back to multiple meetings. Side note: This kid is coming any time now!
dungeoneering untrained: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (4) + 0 = 4
Sometimes it's best not to know what the creepy crawly is.
Khoda drew his bow and loosed an arrow.

damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Move Action: Move 10 ft and draw weapon
Standard Action: Attack

Don't worry about it, I'm only able to post now cause I had to work overtime today during my normal post times.
The weird mold doesn't even try to evade the fire, instead it just slorps right through it (resistance to fire than your damage).
Wheeler easily stabs the non-evasive mold and damages it.
Khoda shoots into the fight and also hits the mold.
Amiri charges forward, yelling the whole way before jumping over the river and swinging her massive sword.
rage, charge, large bastard sword: 1d20 + 3 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 3 + 2 + 2 = 15
damage: 2d8 + 6 + 3 ⇒ (7, 2) + 6 + 3 = 18
With her massive swing, she easily cuts the mold in half thanks to everyone's combined efforts.
Combat Over!
You easily find the hidden passage mentioned by the Gillman leading out the caves in this cavern.
GM Zer0darkfire |
You can hear Janira still battling the minotaur outside with her taunts towards it and its yelling back at her making it fairly obvious that they are surely annoying each other a great deal.
Feel free to do any healing you'd like (and anything else for that matter) before/on your turn in the next combat.
Khoda: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
Huong: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Wheeler: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18
Enemy: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (14) - 1 = 13
The light of the surface world above provides a welcome reprieve from the blue and green fungus of the caverns below, and light illuminates a stream whose water is hastened by runoff from a recent storm further up the mountains. A ledge to the west rises up to the nearby forest canopy. You see Janira locked in combat with a bloodied Minotaur, neither of them look very well off currently.
Janira looks at the timely arrival of the group, "Oh thank the decimvarate you got here when you did! I could really use a hand finishing off this minotaur, he simply will NOT listen to reason. He thinks we are working with the Centaurs to take over his land or something."

From what I can tell, only Wheeler is hurt.
Huong asks.."May I use that scroll of Mage Armor from Janira's pack, please?"
If ok with the group, Huong will use the scroll.
Khoda Issad |
I'll go ahead and use the CLW wand for Wheeler then. Note that I haven't updated my AC above with the stats from the +1 shield. AC is 17, FF 16
Wand CLW: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Probably good enough!
"By all means, Huong," Khoda said as he readied to launch into the fray.
Wheeler Fire |
Feeling invigorated Whether rushes to the water's edge.
"You will regret setting foot in the centaurs' forest!"
If the minotaur attacks Wheeler
Parry: 1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (3) + 6 - 2 = 7
That feels like an axe to the face.
GM Zer0darkfire |
Currently, the minotaur is far too occupied with Janira to pay attention to Wheeler.
broken battleaxe: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
broken battleaxe, confirmation: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
damage: 4d6 + 8 ⇒ (1, 6, 5, 5) + 8 = 25
Ok, so umm, Janira 100% just got her head chopped off...my bad.
The minotaur shouts in triumph as it's annoying foe's head goes flying off its body and into the surrounding trees. It then turns its gaze to Wheeler, challenging Wheeler to dare stand against it's might. Despite its impressive show of might, you can tell that the creature is tried and bleeding from various wounds on its body.
The minotaur can swing once more, but it's seeing what you do first.

Khoda shot a look at Wheeler, confused as to why the ifrit would antagonize the Minotaur. He looked back just in time to see the creature divorce Janira's head from her body.
"You sunuva- You'll reap what you have sown!"
Khoda rushed forward, pulling his sword from its scabbard.

Huong Chan |
Huong moves forward with the group, slightly stunned by the sight of Janira's demise.
Took the liberty of adjusting the map. Put our two missing members down by the border and transfered Amiri to be with the group.
GM Zer0darkfire |
Huong, I believe you're looking at the wrong slide. Make sure you look at the last one in the scenario (I deleted the incorrect one that was from earlier in the scenario).
Wheeler Fire |
Wheeler runs past Khoda and leaps across the river
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
and unleashes a gout of flame.
Burning Hands: 1d4 ⇒ 2
GM Zer0darkfire |
Sorry, probably should have botted wheeler for you guys, but I tend to forget to check games if there aren't posts which makes for a bad cycle of not posting.
Even after watching Janira's death, you beginner pathfinders decide to charge the minotaur!
Khoda fills himself with the power of his deity and moves forward while Wheeler leaps across the river and unleashes fire on the minotaur.
Huong moves forward to get better range on his abilities.
Amiri gets mad, really, really mad after seeing Janira die. "YOU'LL PAY FOR THAT!" she yells as she charges forward in a rage.
reflex save vs Wheeler: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 Not sure what your DC is, but a nat 1 isn't going to pass.
He then walks forward through the flames and swings his axe at wheeler.
broken axe: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
broken axe: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
But the minotaur is clearly tired and overswings both his attacks, making them easy for wheeler to dodge. Any parries here?

Khoda rushed forward and launched an attack at the Minotaur hoping to end the fight quickly.

Standard: Attack
Longsword: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
I think that movement results in an AoO. I can't remember if minotairs have reach or not. But here's a roll just in case.
Acrobatics: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (18) - 1 = 17

Huong moves forward and points at the Minotaur...
Force damage vs. Minotaur: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Using 1 point from Arcane Reservoir to use: Force Strike(Su): (1d4+1) The arcanist can unleash a blast of force by expending 1 point from her arcane reservoir. This attack automatically strikes one target within 30 feet (as magic missile) and deals 1d4 points of force damage, plus 1 point of damage per arcanist level. Spells and effects that negate magic missile also negate this effect.
Wheeler Fire |
Parry on the first swing
Parry: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Wheeler steps in
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23

and skewers the minotaur.
GM Zer0darkfire |
AoO vs Khoda: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Khoda and Wheeler easily hit the minotaur, casuing it lose even more blood than it was before, but it remains standing, even after Huong's missile slams into him.
Huong, you need to ask the dice roller for some new d4s; I think its given you a 1 on the die nearly every time.
1 for khoda, 2 for wheeler: 1d2 ⇒ 1
broken axe: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25 damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (6, 6) + 4 = 16
broken axe: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Khoda nimbly dodges the first swing as he moves in, but the minotaur swings again while Khoda is recovering from his own attack, causing a massive wound that knocks Khoda out.
Amiri charges into melee range of the minotaur to make her own brutal swing with an equally sized weapon. "RRRAAAAGGGHHHH!"
Amiri: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
damage: 2d8 + 9 ⇒ (3, 4) + 9 = 16
With her mighty swing, she returns the minotaur's actions in kind with her own decapitating swing. "FOR JANIRA!"

Khoda sat up and thanked Huong for once again saving Khoda's life.
"Talmandor's talons...
He muttered a prayer for Janira and punctuated it by spitting on the Minotaur.
GM Zer0darkfire |
Having defeated the Minotaur and sleded Janira's remains back to the Grand Lodge, you report back to Kreighton Shaine. He confirms that you have completed your mission of exploring the caves and discovering why the Gillmen were visiting, but he expresses great sadness at the lose of Janira's life. "I don't place any blame on you, new pathfinders, a minotaur is quite a dangerous foe, even for someone as experienced as Janira."
He compliments those who recorded notes, especially Huong, for being certain to write down ideas and observations while the thoughts are fresh, observing that it’s difficult enough to remember what one had for breakfast the day before as it is to recall exactly what one was thinking while studying an inscription.
As the you are now the foremost authorities on that cave and what it contains, Shaine also invites them to come up with its name. He makes sure to remind you, however, that not every pathfinder returns from their missions, as shown by Janira's corpse, and that being a Pathfinder is a dangerous career, but also a rewarding one. For instance, he informs you that Janira has probably garnered enough favor with some more affluent pathfinder agents to be brought back from the dead, should she so choose. After all, Janira has helped, many, many agents complete their confirmations over the course of many years.
Three days later, the Master who best represents each of your interests, either the Master of Scrolls, Spells, or Swords, confirms that you are all full Pathfinder field agents. As part of the ceremony, that mentor also gifs a personalized wayfinder to the PC, reminding him or her that this is not only the symbol of the Pathfinder's trade, but also a reminder of the three principle duties: explore, report, and cooperate.
