I don't care either way if we are finished or just good enough to get the chronicle.
No worries on the chronicle. Maximum prestige award... that's another story.
Here comes the BOON!1d20 ⇒ 5
Alas, we are boonless. :(

TWMIGM wrote:Do you collect Zarta from wherever it is you sent her to--probably another showing of Avengers: Endgame? Was there anywhere else you wanted to go? There are still prizes to be had fighting erinyes in the arena you know.Atum still wonders about documents he had found day before in Fastness, but could not understand clues from. So maybe this would be fine mission for Zarta. We still got some message scrolls, are we?
We may also visit Vetrirvides to give Zarta some time and share with him investigation results. After this, yeah, Leventi's scriptorium can expect some guests...
The group didn't send Zarta anywhere specific this last time, but generally it takes time to get back together. The group had six scrolls to begin with and still has a few left.
If you are looking to fully understand the random Leventi documents to see if there is more evidence of the contract devil's carelessness beyond his deal with the Aspis wizard Nouri for his former slave Narsino, his mishandling of the Gellius Thrune's imp Tholvinus, his possibly illegal acquisition of Teena and her fellow Hellknights from the Boneyard, you could consult with the other contract devil you know on the 50th floor of the Fallen Fastness, Jarluxis.
Also note, that the bone devil Vetrivides, is standing outside of Leventi's scriptorium at the Fallen Fastness waiting for you and Zarta to bring him evidence of Leventi's unworthiness for advancement.
Also, also note that your 7 hour grace period (granted by Arti's ritual) expires in about 3 1/2 hours and it takes about 3 hours to reach the Fastness from Erecura's Palace.

Give how little time we have left on the ritual I suggest we head straight to Vetrivedes and notify Zarta via sending about what is happening.

I advise that we that we follow instructions, and missions, Chandu. It's just progmatic here, in hell. So I'd share some information with Vetrividesfor for his exprtise and or using affiliation with Jurluxis.

Flying to Seattle tonight for work. Will be posting later in evening pending hotel WiFi cooperation this week into next.

Sorry, kinda stop following this, as I was expecting this to end before Outpost II ended as it was scheduled as an Outpost II game. Got frustrated with the weeks beyond that date. We almost done?
Final dungeon.

Trying to close this out as quickly as I can, but like all investigative scenarios where PCs need to talk to literally a dozen+ different characters in a half-dozen locations situated around a sandbox environment, with complex traps and skill checks it's not quick or easy in play-by post. I am not even sure how face-to-face players with loads of PC participation are supposed to finish this in a 4-hour time slot.
If you or your PC needs or wants out, lemme know now. We are about 2-ish areas away from the end and the primary success condition.
| Shrec the Powerful |
I'm just going to finish this the best I can. Did even know this was a long one, but I signed up for it, so I finish it. I just normally trust that scenarios take as much time as they say they do, which I know they can go beyond the normal time, like a 4 hour scenario can last 6 hours, but it ain't common.
| The World's Most Interesting GM |
Shrec might make another 650 gp out of the deal if he takes that and the deal for his immortal soul.
| The World's Most Interesting GM |
It's two different deals. There's the group's let-Leventi-off-in-exchange-for-Thrune's-soul deal, and then there is the I-personally-sell-my-soul-for-6,500-gp side deal that Shrec made. The "group deal" has an option for 650 gp.

In case my position was not clear, I am all for killing off Leventi.
Atum Shane
|
OK, I will start this creative
| Shrec the Powerful |
Yeah just the 6,500. Though if we kill off Leventi, my wish still goes through?
Though I'm curious, my other choice would have been power for my soul? Let me guess, +1 to 4 different stats? Sticking with Wealth though.
| The World's Most Interesting GM |
Your side-deal with Leventi goes through. As an alternative to wealth you could have just gotten something worth roughly that amount. Jair has a new magical item for instance, and also bargained for an investigative clue.

Aaaaand the website is up just in time for me to go to work.
More later/tomorrow when I can.
Make plans for your next move/wrapping up in the meantime.

And that is essentially a wrap!
Congrats on making it to the end!
I'll keep this thread open for at least the next few days, for corrections, comments, questions, and other things that start with a 'kah' sound.
For my part, I was a bit surprised at how many people made deals with the devils.

Oh my pagan lord! I missed so much during weekend relocation.
Sorry, we moved to another appartment withh all the stuff.
I wander why Sepia Snake Sigil had no effect upon Leventi?!

I am not very experienced as PbP player. But this scenario plot and perfomance were realy excited. Hopefully you like my involving as well...
You are really very interesting GM. I will gladly participate in your games more if you are planning.
Music links for fights and different aliases, all the GM job was at high level. So I am very happy now that jumped to this tread when it was almost over.
I really needed such experience ...so my expectations about PbP games are different now, then 3 months ago.

Thanks, that looks fine. I would be interested in Sanctum, I have a number of characters in tier.

Thank you very much GM.
My character was technically inadequate for this scenario but nevertheless a good wrap up of Zarta's story!
Again, thank you very much for the other player for making this game even better :)
Chronicle looks good, but to be clear, we don't have access to the Tier10-11 objects right?

Congratulations! Now all you have to do unpack. ;)

Leventi erased the scroll before opening it. Contract Devils have erase as an "at will" spell-like ability. They have a lot of powers relating to paperwork. They also have BIG bonuses to sense motive, and spellcraft checks. Leventi suspected Atum was up to something, and then confirmed it when he saw the spell being cast. He was a little more concerned about Atum summoning the hound archon, because that would have drawn Hell's Displeasure. 'Hell's Displeasure' by the way was my way of saying--Dispater's Attention. Should your character's displeasure penalty ever reach your character's level (via breaking contracts, flashing good religious objects or powers that are anathema to Hell's authority, etc....) Dispater shows up and takes them somewhere... probably forever.

There is only one item list on the chronicle sheet, and it is available for all subtiers. You still have to have the money to pay for the item though.| The World's Most Interesting GM |

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. I might be cutting back from GMing for the next few months as I have other things I need to get to, but you're always welcome at my table.
I find it to be challenging to play over a screen. When I GM in real life I can use different voices, body language, and the space itself to elicit various emotional effects from the players. When I GM in person, I stand up about 85% of the time. Over a screen most of that stuff doesn't work, so I try to try to make everything as evocative and interactive as possible.
In this scenario (which has soooooo many characters) I thought it might be easier if there were more personalized icons. They are easier for everyone to track than my standard GM's icon. Should I need to refer to something one of them said or did I can just go to the Characters tab at the top of the page, find them, and scroll through their five or ten (or twenty) posts rather than all 300 or so of my regular TWMIGM's posts to find the bit I need. Plus, it makes it easier to follow when more than one NPC is speaking.

Does anyone intereste in Salvation of the Sages? NOt sure it's gonna be pbp or online at Roll20, but PM me if someoone is interested in either option. Its better to write via Discord (Shtorm#9910)
Ah! That Sanctum! I've played that once before in CORE mode. Fun game.

Excellent job, GM! and great group.
I enjoyed the story line and intrigue. The different icons per NPC was a nice touch (way too much work for me as a GM, but much appreciated)
Plus it is always good to run with familiar faces to get continuity.

I am visited Sanctum of the Sages as well. Good twist and plot. Atum still got nightmares from far space after this journey.
And I like Grandmaster Torch to appear and amount of his drawback.
