Travis goes down the hallway and examines the door leading to the seventh room. "It seems likely the stairs lead out of here, and we have yet to find the item we were tasked to bring out. I suggest we leave the stairs and the trap on them until we are done with the rooms down here."

Who's taking point? So far it's been Hound or Sholano. Are we keeping to that?

right now, I think Travis is in front, but if Hound wants point, Travis will gladly relinquish it

"Perhaps Sholano would be the best one to check this for traps, but I will see what I can see..." Travis checks the door carefully for any traps before opening it.
perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23
If he's convinced the door isn't trapped, he will open it cautiously. If it does seem to be trapped, he will try to determine the nature of the trap to see if can be circumvented in some way.

The sliding door opens untrapped, revealing another hallway. This one has a sliding door of sorts that's obvious from this direction. This door has the inscription, "Beware the fallen, for they may rise once again to threaten you." You can still go back the way you came and go through either door, the "fallen" door or the "secrecy brings death" door.

This room smells heavily of the ocean and mold. Eight coffins lie here on shelves on the stone walls, and on the other end of the room is a door. The coffins are covered in seaweed and barnacles and are mainly the source of the awful smell. The room is lit by a small lantern hanging from the ceiling.

The room is quiet... for now.
Tell me what you do in the next round. You're not precisely in initiative yet, but in six seconds something may happen.

Coffins, every room has had a threat and this should be no different. If things dwell in there, we should use the hall as a chokepoint after luring them out.

"Sounds like a good plan...but chokes us as much as them, since only one of us can attack. We lack reach weapons."

I mean going back a room and letting them funnel up the hallway, we can get three of us on each target.
